pretty simple in my mind, if KO goes, Monroe is our LT, and then Urschel is our new LT, with Zuttah at Center, Yanda, and Wagner....Then we draft a LT later on, or sign a UDFA....Plus the Tackles from last year who will be invited to camp....

Also a possibility that KO walks, Monroe stays as LT for this year only, and we draft an OT in the 1st or 2nd round. That player either plays LG in year 1 or is the swing tackle and takes over for Monroe at LT in 2017.

Given the historical struggles that even high draft picks have at LT in year 1, there's certainly justification and precedent to play a rookie tackle at another position or even as depth in year 1.

I'm not nearly as convinced as everyone else that Urschel is locked into a starting job this season. In fact, if I were a betting man, I'd bet Urschel is either the starting center (they cut Zuttah) or he's a backup to start the season.

Agree. If we do draft a LT such as Stanley, maybe we could bump Wagner inside to RG and move Yanda over to the left side to put Stanley at RT. Or as you said, maybe he sits this year and Jensen/Urschel play LG. I assume Jensen will get the first opportunity, as he had some moments where he played very well. Obviously this is all assumptions, as a lot of different things could happen.

Deepest RB class was definitely the 2008 Ravens when we ran heavy because Flacco was a rookie: Le'ron McClain, Willis McGahee, and Ray Rice. I loved that team. We were so physical on both sides of the football...We lost our physicality ever since the SB, and the retirement of Ray Lewis.

Our defense will not be good enough unless we address it heavily through the draft, FA, and underperforming players are willing to take pay cuts, which is unlikely. I think the Trestman offense is all about stats, and does little for the win column because we fail to control time of possession. I think we are somewhere around 8-8, but we get the easy NFC East which could propel us to 10-6, only to get bounced out of the playoffs quick.

I beg to differ I think the trio of Rice... McGahee... and Ricky Williams was a better trio... Just my opinion of course..

again we picked up Ricky Williams in 2011 because we let Mcgahee walk (he ended up in denver). Williams and Mcgahee never played together.

I think we were deepest in 08-09 when we had McGahee, McClain, and Rice! That was a scary backfield

McClain and McGahee against Dallas in 08 was a thing of beauty.

I would also argue that CB as priority number one. The only starter we have as of now is Jimmy Smith. So it would behoove us to take one that will be able to contribute right away. And those types of CBs are not going to be there in later rounds. Impact pass rushers are easier to find in later rounds than impact corners. But just because CB is our priority doesn't mean we have to take one in the first. Our first round pick is not set in stone. The players that are taken 1-5 will dictate who we take.

I think Shareece Wright proved more than serviceable at the end of last season. In fact, one could argue he was the best CB on our team. With Jimmy coming back healthy, Shareece Wright with a year in our system, having traded for Will Davis (who will also be healthy) and Tray Walker on board I really don't think we need to panic quite yet. Could we use a great young CB in the draft like a Ramsey, VH3, Alexander, etc.? Sure we could because there will never be enough good CBs on any team. Having said that however, conceding that Ozzie always picks BPA ( that has been Gospel here for years btw) and we are cool with it. My sense is if there is an exceptional pass rusher available at 6, this year we make an exception and go for that player! That is how critical that position is for the Ravens. Everything we do flows off of the pass rush and last year proved it! My instincts tell me we go pass rush at 6, unless of course the top rushers are gone and Ramsey is available.

Of course its to early to tell, but are there really any pass rushers outside of Bosa that warrant the number 6 pick? I think we could trade back a little and find a CB or Pass rusher in the teens somewhere. I really wouldn't mind the Spence guy....he dominated the Senior Bowl and has exceptional talent. If we trade back, we get more picks, and a player that can contribute right away.

  4. I've read rumors (probably smoke) that Dallas and Jacksonville are both very high on Ramsey too. I wouldn't suggest falling in love too early.

Unless something comes up with him off the field, I really think there is close to no chance he makes it to 6. What hurts us is that the QB class is weak this year, and there really aren't to many teams in front of us who need a QB besides the Browns and possibly Cowboys. If we want him, we would have to trade above Jacksonville. They would definitely take him.

  5. IF, we actually draft Bosa w/ our 6th pick, is he an instant starter?  If Suggs comes back 100% healthy

where does Bosa get his reps? Does he play run downs allowing Doom to go back to his role of 2014 coming

in on passing situations?  Curious to know how he would be utilized if we select him.

In a passing situation, I would have all 3 on the field. The more the merrier. He would definitely play on run downs. Doom held up nice this year, but is better suited for just passing situations. If you have all three, you have to use them. Bad news is, if we draft Bosa and resign Upshaw, Upshaw will be the odd man out.

I just wanna know, is real grass better for players than artificial turf?, and what other reasons were behind this? Anyone? Also doesn't this mean that there might be issues with the field getting worn out fast during games, especially rain.

Its always been said that natural grass is easier on the knees. I actually think statistics back that up as well, as more players suffer their injuries on turf. Now I'm sure you will still see plenty of injuries involving the knees or ankles, but it might cut down on them slightly. And to your comment about the field getting worn out, it's possible, but with advanced technology and a good grounds grew, it should hold up fine. Unless we play games back to back in a down pour, then that might tear it up a little bit. Personally, I like the move to grass, and I would bet the players do as well.

  7. I like Aiken as a WR. The great thing about Aiken is that he can play inside and out. We can use him outside and move SSS inside to work the slot. We do need to add more play makers, but we have guys who can produce. I just hope Perriman turns into a player. SSS, Aiken, Perriman, Camp, Butler, Waller sounds pretty good to me. Its going to be a good competition to see who gets those last few spots. I also love our TEs. Even without Pitta.

  8. Im excited for the offseason, hopefully we make the right moves. At least we have a backup QB. We have a stable of good young RBs. We have WRs we know can produce (still need another solid playmaker), and have a good set of TEs. I think we need a top flight corner, another OLB, and possibly inside. OL is a question mark a little bit. I just hope we get healthy and add some solid pieces, because losing sucks lol. GO RAVENS!

    7

  9. Did you watch SSS play this year? Please explain how his skills diminished. The guy was having one of the best years of his CAREER at 36, and he wasn't slowing down. This injury may not allow him to have the workload he had this year, but if our front office does there job he should not have to do as much. We need to get healthy and find another receiver. SSS, Aiken, Perriman, Camp, and whoever else. This is very good news for the Ravens.

  10. even when flacco was still the qb the guy had like a catch or two a game. I remember he had 1 nice catch at the end of the game in Arizona. He will be a FA so the only way he will be competing for a spot is if we resign him and I just don't see that happening.

Well I do agree there, if he is a free agent then I don't see him returning. Money can be used on a more productive receiver or corner. Aiken is also a restricted FA, so I would like to see us resign him.

  11. Not a travesty, just what it is. There are other very good DT's (Suh,  Williams is good but he's not a game changer.

Remember DT Arron Mcdonald in that Rams game? (sadly the one responsible for Forsett's fracture) he was all over the place. And Ngata is still the better DT, no offense to anyone. But its the truth. A lot of you guys forgot the type of players it takes to have a dominant defense. Ngata was a true game/momentum changer.

Brandon Wiliams is a guy that has made some plays in the midst of other guys that are making NO plays once so ever. So it does go to his advantage, but I don't really see him playing like such a game changer to beat out other DT's in the league

    Just my opinion though

I was hoping Carl Davis would turn into something special, what happened to him?

I do believe Brandon Williams is ranked either 1st or 2nd by PFF against the run. He has played much better overall than Ngata this season. Ngata has come on strong for the Lions this past month, but Brandon Williams has been fantastic against the run. I wouldn't say he got snubbed, but I do believe he should have been an alternate at least. He is been one of the very few bright spots on our defense, and team overall. He is going to be a core player for us for years to come, and will make a pro bowl in the near future. What hurts Williams is that he isn't a good pass rusher. If he could get a little better at that aspect of his game, he would dominate games. But he can and has been a game changer, because he can shut down the run up the middle by himself.

  12. Whether it's a loss by a little or a lot it does not matter.  I can't argue against something no one could possibly know and that is that we would have beat the Dolphins, if Flacco had played.  I can argue the facts though.  Turnovers more than anything cost us yesterday's game.  Joe isn't immune to turnovers .  In addition, Jimmy has only been with the team for two weeks.  Joe's been her 8 years.

And Joe has been to the playoffs 6 of those 8....won 10 playoff games....has been arguably the best post-season QB since 2011....oh and he won a super bowl by having one of the greatest post-seasons ever.....so you can have Jimmy Clausen.

  13. I have no idea why so many people like givens, I'm sorry but I just don't see it. We traded away what 2 picks to get that kind of production? How many total yards does he have so far? And what , 1 touchdown? I can't see him being on the team next year unless he lights it up in camp or something. Id trade him back away for a 7th round pick, if anybody would even bite which I doubt. I think he was more so referring to him being a possession type chain mover who goes after and fights for the ball. Obviously he's not on Steves level.

I didn't say I liked Givens. By no means am I a huge fan of the guy, I just had him competing for the #5 WR spot, which he will probably get the opportunity to do. He was producing more when Flacco was under center, but as of right now, I think Butler/D. Brown have a better opportunity for the 5 spot. Actually, I don't know of a lot of fans on here who have a love affair with Givens...I prefer Butler, D.Brown, and obviously Aiken more.

  14. I've been screaming on this board forever that FLACCO is the reason our receivers look bad. It's just to bad that it took him to get injured to prove that. I've said it all along we've got serviceable receivers. Clausen for Flacco and no I'm not kidding--the price is right. Flacco can't read defenses and he is slow in going through his progressions and delivering the ball. He is no elite QB. Nuff Said.

The last 4 games haven't made you realize how important Flacco is to Baltimore? We were in every single game he was our QB this year. If our defense didn't crap their selves in a few games, we would have another 2 or 3 wins. We beat the dolphins if we have Flacco and give the cheifs a lot better game. If you have a WR like SSS, you throw him the ball. Aiken is playing great, but he wouldn't be doing what hes doing if SSS didn't get hurt. Flacco is our franchise QB. You can go build a team with Clausen all you want. I like our super bowl winning QB.

  15. I like what Aiken has been doing. To be honest, when Steve went down, I thought Aiken would disappear completely because I thought he would be shut out by teams considering he was about the only weapon we had left. He has stepped up big time for us. He has proven he can be a solid #2 or 3, and I believe that's exactly what he will be next year. If we could get a receiving core to actually stay healthy, we could be okay. Steve Smith Sr., Aiken, Perriman, Campanaro, then Givens, Butler, or Brown as the #5. But we do need to add an additional WR.

  16. Everyone knows this is a popularity contest, and we definitely are not the most popular team, even when we have good years. Look at every position, the Panthers have someone for every position almost. Granted, a lot deserve the recognition, but when the best Guard in the game is ranked 9th in votes, that's sad. Only true football fans, and Ravens fans, know how good he really is. The same for Brandon Williams, not many fans are going to realize just how dominate he can be. I really can't believe Koch hasn't been voted in...I feel like he is actually getting more popularity this year. I think he makes it when the coaches and players vote. I believe Yanda will as well.

But, let's be honest, the probowl is a joke. I wish they would do away with the game. All-pro selections mean a lot more.

  17. IMO this is another way of saying their throwing in the towel on the rest of the season. I didn't expect this nor do I condone it, this has turned into a bush league team! How in the world can you evaluate these players when probably half of these guys won't here next year SMH!!!!! Harbaugh blowing smoke.

That's why you let them play, to see if they deserve to be here next year. What do we have to play for now? I know that you always play hard and try to win the game, but I would love to see what our young guys can do. Daniel Brown may be earning himself a roster spot for next season, along with Jeremy Butler. I also wouldn't mind resting some guys we KNOW are going to return next season, to avoid an injury that may be a setback for next season.

  18. ozzie drafted him. Oh really? it was a great pick? Hes a good player for us? boyle has 18 receptions for 154 yards and Zero Touchdowns on the season.. Yeah, hes really great. I doubt we'll miss his minimal production

Yeah Ozzie drafted him, but give me some reasons for Ozzie not to draft him. Can you find some dirt on Boyle that would be worth not drafting him for? He was drafted in the later portion of the draft. He is from a small school, and has more than held his own this year. I would love to know how many people thought this guy would contribute the way he has. 18 catches and 154 yards doesn't really show what means to our team. He has been a great blocker and a better reciever than anyone expected. I guess for you fans to consider someone a great pick they have to dominate and make the probowl in their first year. He has been a great pick and shows a lot of promise. Also, quit blaming Ozzie for the players stupid mistakes. They are grown men, they do not need babysitters.
