  1. I think Judon could really make a difference. He has impressed me so far, but I remind myself this isn't starting quality T's he is facing in games. I want to see him rush against a starting tackle and see how he does. It would be great if we had four guys that can consistently get pressure off the edge. Suggs, Doom, Zadarious Smith, Judon, and Correa if he isn't inside would be a good depth chart.
  2. If we go 7 WRs, then we will probably only go with 3 TEs, which we still end up cutting a good player. I think we keep 6 WRs with Butler being odd man out because of Camps return ability. Pitta, Watson, Gilmore, and Williams make the team.
  3. What has he been doing so bad that makes you post that? He had one mistake, which led to a pick, but everyone will drop a pass. I'm proud of the way he rebounded that game and our QBs continuously targeted him. Last game he gets his jaw messed up. Give the guy a chance. He is raw, but talented. It honestly wouldn't surprise me if he ends up on the IR with a surprise injury.....
  4. Hopefully this kid can stay healthy. Ravens nation is excited to see what he can do.
  5. I haven't really seen a QB hold the ball 4 or 5 seconds on our defense this preseason. The ball is getting out quickly, which makes it tough on the pass rush to make a difference.
  6. Agree 100%. We had Suggs and Doom in '14 and we still had one of our worst secondaries. Yes we had injuries that year, but nothing has changed in our secondary that makes me think we won't have issues. Weddle and Webb won't give up a lot of deep balls, but we will get picked apart underneath by the looks of it so far. Unless Suggs and Doom get to the QB under 2 secs they won't make that big of a difference. Leadership? Yes. But when the QB can get the ball out so quick it doesn't make a difference who you have rushing the passer. That's why the bengals have been so successful against us. Dalton gets the ball out so quick. Maybe we aren't disguising enough or are playing to soft, but if we let teams dink and dunk our defense will have a long season, a long with the rest of the Ravens.
  7. No not really. Running doesn't really mean he is ready to come back again. Now, when he starts cutting on his knee and it's holding up fine, then yes he is ready to practice more than likely. Running puts a lot of pressure on the knee, but cutting off of the knee is what will be the deciding factor. That is where the most force will be applied to the ligaments and stress to the entire knee. I know people who can run in a straight line with a torn ACL. Cutting will be the deciding factor, however long that might be.
  8. If it was going to be that long until he returned, I doubt he would have played this year. He would have retired.
  9. Very doubtful. This isn't Suggs first rodeo, and SSS is a warrior. They may not play the entire game the first couple weeks, but they will see plenty of game time. They both will be eased into action as expected, as Suggs is 33 and SSS 36 (maybe 37, not sure). Honestly, I hope they don't need to play the entire game, we need them fresh. But the statement you made saying it's doubtful that they see much game time this year is absurd.
  10. Add our TEs into that, and it's even better. Honestly, if guys stay healthy, which is a BIG IF, we could have one of the most dangerous passing threats in the league. I pray Campanaro stays healthy. I really think he could be very dynamic for us and a great option on 3rd down. It would also be nice just to see Perriman walk into M&T bank with a Ravens uniform on....
  11. Sorry for the late response, but literally right after I posted what I did, I got an update a little bit later saying he broke his ankle. Tough break.
  12. I understand we haven't heard much, but we have only had a week of practices really. We haven't even played our first preseason game yet. He may not be ready to start this season, but don't write him off after one week. He could still be a starting DE.
  13. Pitta and Wallace understand how football is played. You don't smack your teammates like that in training camp though. One time? Okay you're a rookie we understand. He should have gotten the hint after Pitta went at him, considering I have never heard of Pitta doing that before. Then he decides to lay out possibly one of our most important weapons in Mike Wallace? Come on. Guys are trying to get through camp without injuries, and having a rookie linebacker laying out guys in training camp lowers those chances. I'm sure Flacco made that point known to him. I like the aggression he has and the way he is flying around the field, but you protect your own.
  14. A team like to Patriots would pick Camp up in a heart beat and knowing our luck, he wouldn't have another injury for the next 5 years if that happened. Camp has to much potential, he would be picked up the day he is released. I think we see if he stays healthy. If he stays healthy, he could be a playmaker for our offense, especially on third down. We take a big risk of losing him if we try to sneak him through waivers, and I really don't think he would make it through.
  15. I only remember one play, which was a bad call that neglected his TD at Miami. But let's be realistic, whether he is a TE or WR, he doesn't stand much of a chance. At WR, he will not beat out SSS, Aiken, Wallace, Moore, and Perriman for sure. That leaves probably one more spot and MAYBE another. That last spot, imo, will go to a WR who shows the most in the return game. That narrows it down to Campanaro, Clay, and Reynolds. At TE, we are stacked. Gilmore, Watson, and Williams are locks to make the roster. Pitta is a question mark. I think Pitta will be used as more of a receiver in passing situation and that's about it. I don't think Pitta will be on the field during running downs/situations. He will be in certain packages, etc. Waller and Brown really don't stand a chance. Waller is kind of lucky that he is suspended, because he will be around the first 4 weeks and he is a good special teams player, that is in his favor. Then you have Boyle, who is a good blocker and showed talent when he played. So, who do you think Brown beats out? Because all of the guys listed can make the same plays and then some that he makes.
  16. Harbaugh coaches the players Ozzie signs, Harbs isn't calling the shots on who we sign and what not. It takes a couple years to build a roster, and I think we are going in the right direction. We will be a force shortly, and that could be as soon as this season.
  17. Exactly. This would be way more entertaining than the game itself, even if they took it somewhat serious. I honestly don't like watching Ravens players in the game for the simple fact that they could easily get a serious injury that hinders there availability for the following season. Eifert is going through that right now with the Bengals. Luckily he will return, but he could still miss a few games, just because of the pro bowl.
  18. Yeah I understand he wanted Timmy to call, but if Timmy wants to wear 99, he can wear it. He doesn't need Sapp's permission, Sapp didn't play for Baltimore. I don't remember his number getting retired throughout the league or something. Sapp needs to worry about the other issues in his life
  19. It will not matter unless we protect Flacco and get that running game going. If we can do that than the passing offense will be deadly. Actually stretching an opponents defense directly impacts the running game. Basically if you don't stretch the defense then they crowd the box and the running game suffers plus they send more pressure knowing they are unlikely to get burnt. If you can stretch the defense they must play accountable football or risk being burnt for long bombs for TD's. But if you can get the running game open, the defense may bring more guys in the box, which therefore opens up the deep passing game/play action. Both go hand in hand. If you can run the ball, it will open up the pass and more big plays. If you can stretch the field and hit some big plays through the air, then the running game will get going. Honestly, I just wanna see us have a good balance and keep Flacco upright.
  20. I'm sure Flacco isn't happen about going 5-11. He is busting his tail in rehab at the castle everyday, which he doesn't have to. I'm sure he is providing a lot of insight and help to the young players learning the offense. He is a leader on our offense, and this team. We don't see anything about Flacco except what we see on Sundays, and I'm sure if we did, our opinions would change a lot.
  21. Weddle is one of the best safeties in the league. He is very smart, and will help with our communication issues we have had since Ed left. Webby going to safety could be a great move. He is a great tackler, has ball skills, and has good speed to cover a lot of range. We added 3 pass rushers through the draft/UDFA, if one of those guys, along with Z. Smith can't rush the passer, then we just need to clean house at OLB. I hope Perriman lights it up this year, to prove people like you wrong because the guy had an injury (which happens in football believe it or not). And speaking of Washington, what the heck have they done lately to make me think we should start being like them? Lose in the wild card round? Wow that's impressive. Norman could very well be a system player, and we will find out. We don't need to dish out a ton of money to a guy who had one good year, in a system where he was surrounded by superstars. We have improved a lot from last year. Our defense will be better. If you think otherwise, tell me how we didn't improve? Our offense probably has the most weapons we have had since 2012, and honestly, we look better on paper than we did that year. If your gonna bash what we do, go be a skins fan.
  22. Right? Why would Maxx even be mentioned here. He actually came on strong toward the end of the season. Heck the kid is only gonna be 22 this year. At worst, he will be our #3 TE.
  23. Is this a joke posting? Seriously? SSS was on his way to maybe 1200+ receiving yards last year before he got hurt and now we should let him go because he's old? What other proven receivers do we have that can replace him besides Aiken? I really don't mind the negative comments people post, but comments from people who obviously don't watch football do get me riled. I watch every play.....and Steve Smith coming off his injury and at his age i don't see him making it with us this year.....I love his heart but his catching ability was already dropping off and we have alot of Healthy(not perriman) receivers that are young and fast.......No joke!! Please explain how his catching ability was dropping off? He was definitely one of the best WRs in the league before tearing his Achilles last season. He also wouldn't come back for another season if there was any chance he doesn't make the team. He will be a significant part of our offense, as he should be. He may see a more limited role now due to the depth we have, which is good for him. He shouldn't have to carry our WRs on his back like last season, but he damn sure can handle it.
  24. Yeah, I guess it's easy to draft the next Ray Lewis and Ed Reed.....
  25. Yeah he did get black balled, but look what Hardy has done, and the only reason he got a chance to play was because he is 27 and a productive pass rusher. Rice was 28 when this happened, going to be 29 when he had his next chance to play in the league. He was actually coming off two years in a row where production was dropping a little bit. In 2012 he still had a good year, but nothing like 09-11. I believe he was going to bounce back in 14, but I don't think he would have been the same ol Ray. In the league today, it's a lot easier to find production from a stable of RBs, and it's easier to find younger backs in later rounds who can produce as much as a 29 year old declining back with as much tread on the tires as Ray.
