  1. What does this have to do with Ozzie? It was a great pick. He has been a good player for us. He messed up, now he has to deal with it. Ozzie didn't give him the PEDs.
  2. When Gronk went down, he was throwing to nobody. Yeah it is the system he plays in, but he also makes the reads, changes protection/play calls, finds open receivers, and makes extremely quick decisions. He works his tail off, and that obviously shows. The way he gets the ball out so quick is unreal. I don't know if you have noticed either, but he is pretty good in the 4th quarter of games. Everyone can point to the 2009 season and say that it is the system, but if Brady is playing I guarantee they have a lot more success. They have been to 4 championship games in a row, and compete/beat everyone they play. Yeah they are in the AFC East, but when you go to 4 championship games in a row you are beating more than the AFC East. I know I am taking up for Brady here, but I think the Patriots are just as lucky to have him as he is the Patriots system. The guy is damn good, whether you want to downplay his success or not.
  3. Let me add on, because we have not been drafting nearly as bad as people believe. In 2011, we drafted 3 players who really contributed to our success. We drafted McPhee that year, who unfortunately for us is dominating for the Bears. 2012 was a solid draft, as you stated 2 quality starters. Peirce looked promising, but injuries and Peirce himself got himself out of Baltimore. Deangelo Tyson was a solid pick in the 7th round. 2013 was actually pretty successful, as we did get 3 starters out of that draft. Brandon Williams, Kyle Juszczyk, and Ricky Wagner, not bad. 2014 was a phenomenal draft. About every single player in that draft has played, and has a lot of talent. If we can get some of those players to stay healthy, that would be one of our best draft classes in years. The jury is still out on this past draft, but it looks bright. Ozzie is fine, just hard to have a good year when 8 offensive starters are out with injury.
  4. This will be tough. It might not be a bad idea for Tucker to play under the tag. He is going to want top 5 money, regardless of what he has done this year. He has sucked from 50+, but has also hit 3 game winners and been very solid from inside 50. We know what he has done in previous years, so all Ozzie really has is what he has done this year. So it wouldn't be a bad idea to tag him, tell him to prove he is the best, and go earn it (like Flacco). The tag could be beneficial for Tucker actually.
  5. Hopefully we get to play them in Baltimore! This was the third year in a row that we have played in Miami. It should have made us 3-0 in the last 3 years as well. Overall, solid game, especially by our defense. Schaub isn't doing terrible, we have to remember he is a backup. He doesn't have the best supporting cast, and has made some nice plays, but there are of course the very dumb mistakes. Yesterdays interceptions were bad luck, it happens when you play QB. Its a tough year, just have to keep fighting and win as many as we can.
  6. I hope your joking, because if your not, go watch his picks against the 49ers. I think on the 2nd one, he literally threw it off his back foot falling away, into the middle of the field, and the closest Raven was 15 yards away. That was about as pointless as it gets....
  7. Here is the main reason I would like to be choosing early in the draft. If we get a top 10 pick, that means we will be picking in the top 10 in every round. IMO, there can be a big difference in talent at the beginning of the 3rd or 4th round compared to selections at the end of those rounds. It would be nice to get two picks out of the first 42 selections. You can get two stars that early in the draft. If we can trade our comp picks, it would also be easier to get back into the first round if we decided to do so. We wouldn't have to give up quite as much as we would if we picked later in the 2nd round.
  8. Honestly, and I hate him as much as any other Ravens fan, but the reason is Tom Brady. Plain and simple. We can hate him as much as we want, and bash him as much as we want, but he is the best QB in the game today and maybe ever. The guy is damn good. He was throwing to no name receivers Sunday night and still almost pulled off the win against that Broncos defense. Yeah they have pulled strings and pushed rules to the limit, but I'm just pointing out the obvious.
  9. We do lack talent, but offensively, look at how many guys we are missing. 7 starters are out (8 if you count Perriman). That's crazy to even think about. Obviously we aren't going to have talent on offense with our injuries, but a few guys did impress me last night. I thought both backs ran the ball great. I think Gilmore will be a very good player in this league, Aiken would be a solid #3 WR, and Givens may have found a place on this team for next year, and Urschel may be our starting center next year. Honestly, offensively we do need more weapons, but defensively is where we need playmakers. Like you said, we lack talent on that side of the ball. We don't have much of a pass rush. Doom gets a little pressure, but it shows how important Suggs was to his success. We need to draft another pass rusher, either in round 1 or 2. Our D-Line is pretty stout against the run, just missing some pass rushers. Our LBs are solid, Daryl Smith is playing like he is still 25 years old. Mosely is obviously a great player, who was all over the field last night, but he needs to work on his coverage skills. Upshaw is still a rotational OLB. Great holding the edge, but ZERO pass rush. He won't get a big contract on the FA market. Honestly, our first pick in the draft needs to be a very good pass rusher, or a play maker in the secondary. Either a FS or very good corner. I don't want to tank the rest of the season, as we will be drafting pretty high no matter what, but we need a high draft pick this year.
  10. Prayers for a speedy recovery. I think he will be good to go by mid August or early September.
  11. This is brutal. For those that bash Flacco, your going to realize how important he is to us.
  12. I guess we can call someone a bust without even watching them play...makes sense. Injuries happen, give the kid a chance to show what he can do before we call him a bust. This fan bade is crazy right now. We are having a bad year, it was gonna happen eventually. Just have to take it on the chin and get better this offseason.
  13. Would be amazing if we could retain Osemele, but he knows he could cash in big on the market. Will be very tough. Tucker isn't going anywhere, he will definitely get tagged if a deal isn't made. I think Upshaw could easily be signed as well, unless he goes on a tear and starts piling on the sacks, he won't get a ton of money on the market. On a side note, I thought Urschel playes well when he was in. I have confidence in him if we lose Osemele.
  14. Babin played 7 snaps at Pitt and like 22 Sunday. He was hardly a threat.
  15. Your gut is wrong. Ozzie will be here as long as he wants. Dean Pees may be fired, but everyone else is okay. Look at our roster, hard to win with the injuries we have. We don't need to make any trades or anything like that, we need to hold on to our picks, hope we get healthy and string together a decent season. If not we will be drafting in the top ten with one of the best GMs/talent evaluator in the game. I hope we turn it around, but I also want to get some high picks because we need some good young players at certain positions.
  16. You remember Billy Cundiff right? You remember Tucker hitting the game winner in OT at Denver? What about making 6 FGs in Detroit and a 61 yard game winner? When you have a very good kicker, you pay them and hold onto them. Tucker deserves his money and we need to keep him. He can be our best weapon with the way our offense plays sometimes.
  17. This is true, but Melvin got his first snaps against the Jaguars, Davis was covering possibly the best WR in the league and did pretty good. Davis was also a 3rd round pick so he has potential and our FO sees something. Not that Melvin doesn't have potential, just saying that Davis could turn out to be a very good player. We can groom players, Dolpins can't. We obviously need to see more of him to wait and see how he turns out, but definitely has potential.
  18. So everyone wants to trade for a legit receiver...but what team in their right mind would do so? How many trades have happened in season involving good WRs in recent years? Percy Harvin? And look at his background. Its not going to happen. We have just had bad luck at receiver. I think Perriman would have made a big difference for us if he didn't get injured. Now when he comes back we will be lucky to get anything since he hasn't seen any action. Just need to do some patch work and hope someone can play decent, and hope we pick up/draft another weapon.
  19. I see an 0-4 start coming. The Bengals will have their way offensively, and the Steelers might beat us by 100. Defense was AWFUL!!!
  20. Torrey had games with the Ravens where he had a catch or two then the next week have 5 or 6 for 100+ yards. I still wish we had Torrey on our team. He deserved to get paid.
  21. Losing Suggs will hurt, but I do believe we can still be a great defense without him. We can't compare losing Ray to losing Suggs, and honestly I think we are a lot better defensively with this unit than we were in 2012. One thing that gives me hope is that we had 4 sacks yesterday, and Suggs and Doom didn't have any. Pees can be creative with getting pressure, and if we stay healthy in the secondary I think we can continue to do that. We also have a lot of good players on our defense. Losing the leadership is my biggest concern. Get well soon sizzle.
  22. Even as ugly as it was offensively, I thought our defense looked great. Secondary is much improved, and will keep getting better. CJ Mosley is a beast. Now we need Upshaw to step up. Perfect opportunity in a contract year. I see us signing a pass rusher though. Offensively we obviously looked terrible. Our line struggled big time, Flacco struggled badky, couldn't run, and we have one receiver who is a threat. Lot of work to do, but we are still a very good team, especially defensively.
  23. Anyone know if Jonas Gray can return kicks? Would fill two needs if he can.
  24. Explain the pattern your seeing? Who was cut that surprised you? Everyone that has been cut has been anticipated. And SSS could stay in Baltimore as long as he wanted, we love that guy. Suggs is a type A as well. Your logic doesn't make much sense I don't think.
  25. He won't be, he should be employed on our practice squad. Another team could pick him up for special teams MAYBE, but I don't think he will be picked up as a WR
