  1. I don't think he's ever going to be the guy he was pre-injury. That's the concern. If we were getting 2012 Michael Crabtree I'd be all for it. 2015 Crabtree is a different story. IDK though, maybe he just needs the right situation to turn it around.
  2. Any word on what the contract is worth? I haven't seen anything yet so I assume details haven't been released.
  3. I disagree with the notion of a weak corner class - I think there are several guys, Waynes, Johnson, the FSU pair, Peters, Rollins, Alex Carter - that could be good players in this league.
  4. They were hoping to resign him, but undoubtedly them signing Rahim Moore meant he probably wasn't looking at as big a payday from them as we offered him. Given that Moore got just 4 million a year, I'd assume we will end up paying Lewis less than that, and if he turns out to be solid, it's a good signing. If it's a bust, we can just cut him like we did with Michael Huff. Yeah it's a bit of a risk, but relatively not much if we got him at a good price.
  5. He played pretty well last year. Depending on the price it could be a good signing - hopefully it turns into a Will Hill like signing and not a Michael Huff-like signing.
  6. He'd be a nice pickup. He's played most of the games for the Vikings, so I'm not so worried about injury concerns. IMO his numbers have been depressed because of QB issues, but I could see him have a SSS-like resurgence here - he's exactly the type of receiver Joe likes to throw to.
  7. He's started for the Jags the last couple of years. I don't particularly care for things like PFF, but they did grade him well in 2013. He was having a good 2014 until injury about half way through. He might come a bit cheaper because of it. He's got some nice size and decent speed.
  8. No, that's still Rodgers - he's second behind Rodgers by about 150k/yr if all the escalators are met. The one thing I always keep in mind about Roethlisberger, though, is his first Superbowl ring came via a 9/21, 123 yard, O TD 2 INT performance. Hasselbeck outplayed Roethlisberger in that game.
  9. Patrick Robinson and Alan Ball are two guys I wouldn't mind looking at.
  10. The Pats might end up with Stevie Johnson as well as Scott Chandler. That would be a heck of an offseason revamping for them.
  11. If they're shopping Patterson, it means they don't think he's a starting quality receiver. Which means that they still need someone else. Mike Wallace will be 30 in 2016, and his game is built around speed - he won't be a feared receiver forever. There was the possibility of Patterson + Parker, but imagine Wallace + Parker (and their TE). That's a dangerous corps for any QB to have.
  12. Can he catch? I honestly don't know, I just remember he was supposedly very raw coming out.
  13. Ball is a FA - he started for Jacksonville the last 2 seasons and was playing pretty well - in 22 games he had 69 tackles, 17 passes defensed, and 3 picks.
  14. A few corners are interesting - I'd love Patrick Robinson but I think he's too pricey for us. Alan Ball is coming off injury - if he could regain his 2013 form he might be a quiet steal. I'd personally also like Stevie Brown but the Giants will probably resign him.
  15. Kiesel is like 100 years old. With the amount of draft picks we have we can get a younger, cheaper player that will be here much longer.
  16. Now the Eagles want to offload Evan Mathis. I remember 2 years ago when he used us to squeeze more money out of them.
  17. 3 years, 9 million. That's a bargain, IMO, given he doesn't have as much wear and tear as most RBs his age.
  18. A three-year deal, it says on his twitter. That takes care of one potential big hole.
  19. I wonder why, though. He has been very good, was actually excellent this year - caught over 75 percent of his passes, his YPR and TDs dropped but he started 3 fewer games. Is it all because of cap issues or is there something more e.g. injury, off-the-field issues.
  20. He drops a ton of passes though, a ton. That, and with a guy like Bowe, you always have to wonder about his motivation. Great talent, but there is a reason he's about to be released.
  21. He'd be a nice pickup - catches a lot of passes thrown his way (around 2/3 of his targets were caught for his career), and we've really missed that go-to reliable target with Pitta out the last 2 years.
  22. I agree - 7 million a year for a guy who will be 34 this year. AJ is a great player, but 7 million to me sounds like you expect 1200 plus yards a season, and I don't know if he's going to be that guy in years 2 and 3 of the deal. Maybe I'm wrong, but, to pun, I don't think the price is right for a guy of his age.
  23. But they've both been Free Safeties at the NFL level - one obviously would move over to the SS spot, but doing so isn't as easy as a guy like Ed Reed made it look. Just saying, putting those either of those two with Smith won't be just a simple plug and play.
  24. Didn't they just draft Harrison Smith?
  25. He'd be a good piece, but you'd need a backup plan - he's started just 55 of 112 career games. Not someone I'd count on to be a 16 game starter.
