  1. Belgium pretty much punched their ticket to the next round with that win.
  2. Honestly I haven't a clue - there are a lot of kids on this team, basically no real international experience at this stage - that helped big time in the first match with Brooks, but we're depending on guys like Brooks, Yeldin, and Johannsson, and even older guys like Wondolowski and Zusi don't have many caps for the U.S. national squad. I think that was Klinsmann's intent when he put this team together, and it could either hurt us if we get down and they fall apart, or it could help in that, even though the U.S. is supposed to suck at soccer, none of these kids have experienced the losses, none of them really know anything but success since Klinsmann has taken over. As long as they don't give up one early, I think the U.S. should be very competitive in this match, but I could easily see Portugal coming out on fire, and in either case it's going to be interesting to see how these young guys respond to their first big test of this tournament.
  3. Messi just made one of the best goals of the tournament so far.
  4. Depends on his asking price - we have two excellent starting corners despite the fact that both have had injury concerns in the past. Flowers would be asked to take a role behind them, and should expect to be compensated as such if he comes here.
  5. I think this would be my only question mark with the offense - at this point, we have no definite long-term solution next to Torrey. Steve won't be here forever, Jacoby is not a number 2, and while Marlon played well last year, he hasn't IMO at this point consistent enough to be considered a long-term starter. I thought we'd be in good position to get a receiver with starting potential, but we did pick up a very good TE with starting potential to compliment Pitta. My guess is the FO decided to see how Marlon, and other guys like Aaron Mallette and DT, progressed, but I still think a long-term starter next to Torrey is, at this point, a question mark.
  6. Teams start calling guys as soon as Mr. Irrelevant is announced.
  7. I've heard injuries for both.
  8. Would not surprise me if the Bengals went after him.
  9. Quarterback - definitely wasn't expecting that.
  10. The difference is that this year some of these guys that are around in the 4th would probably have gone higher in a weaker draft. There are, by my count, at least 9 receivers left I think would be good fits here - Bryant, Norwood, Abbrederis, Street, Huff, Washington, Janis, Reese, and Hoffman.
  11. A very raw tight end that is an excellent blocker with good hands - he's only played TE for 2 years or something because he came in as a DE. He's a very talented player.
  12. Most people considered Mosely a top 10 talent in this draft, maybe not of great value considering his position is being diminished, but still a top 10 talent. So I could easily see how he was BPA when it came to pick 17. I just hate it because so many analysts pegged the pick and I love it when some of those guys are proven totally wrong.
  13. I'd be happy to have him - from what I've heard he's done a lot to turn his life around, and he's still just 24 years old - he's done some dumb things in the past, but he's young enough to easily put that stuff behind him. And I think being here in Baltimore, with the team we have, as opposed to the quagmire that is still Oakland (though I give Reggie McKenzie a lot of credit for what he's trying to do) will do Rolando a lot of good both on and off the field.
  14. If you add his career rushing yards from every other year up, they equal about half of his 2008 total alone. He's also only had 1 rushing TD since leaving us, and his YPC has been declining steadily. At almost 30 years old IDK what he even has left.
  15. You called it right.
  16. IDK how much you can read into this, but we met with Elam last year, then drafted him. I'm pretty sure we also met with both Jimmy and Torrey before drafting them, and the same with Courtney Upshaw. This year, we haven't met with either of the first round safeties, but we've met with Ebron, Amaro, Benjamin, Evans, Lee, Landry, Norwood, Matthews, Mike Davis (a receiver), and Jacob Peterson (another TE). We really went heavy interviewing pass catchers. The only guy I could see that's considered a first round pick on D was Aaron Donald.
  17. We've actually experienced that fairly recently in Baltimore - Jason Brown started a ton of games for us, including all of 2008 at center after Mike Flynn left, and everyone was ticked that he left for the Rams in FA. 3 years later he's released by the Rams, hasn't played in the NFL since.
  18. IDK - I think even as a backup he's too mentally fragile - I wince every time I see the ball in his hands, he has almost no clue what he's doing out there.
  19. As far as I know all they asked him to do was sign an extension so they could lower his cap hit - that I think was according to Aaron Wilson. Now I think what's going on is simply that Ngata has been thinking retirement for a while and didn't want to extend his deal any further. As far as I know, this isn't like the Boldin thing last year (which I still don't get) where they outright told him to take a paycut or he'd be gone.
  20. Yeah if we're talking about the draft, there are no centers I'd really consider taking. I like several guard prospects, but no centers, and I don't think any of them will be any better in 2014 than Gino will be with a year under his belt. This is a poor center draft class and I don't think anyone from this class will ever be an upgrade over Gino (who IMO is physically talented enough to play, just not mentally ready yet) so the best route IMO, and the way we'll probably end up, is to bring in a veteran starting center - and by veteran I don't mean an AQ Shipley type; De La Puente is still out there, but so is a guy like Fernando Velasco or Ryan Wendell.
  21. Also, interior doesn't mean center specifically. We all think some form of competition should be brought in for Gino, but what if the FO doesn't - what if they meant backups in case KO isn't healthy and Marshall needs a break - Marshall will be 30 this year and has played a lot over the last 7 years.
  22. As of right now, there are some guys who could be very good like Derron Smith, Kurtis Drummond, Cody Prewitt, but a year can change things - injuries, an offseason to gameplan, etc., could change their outlook. But right now I'd say it could be more top heavy than 2014.
  23. I'm thinking we draft at least 2 o-linemen, and I could see us drafting a guard early and then one later, is what I mean, kind of like 2007 when we took Grubbs and then Yanda (though I think Yanda was actually a tackle we converted). We seem to have a lot of swing guys already that could play right tackle.
  24. I could actually see us take 2 guards over a guard and a tackle.
  25. Yeah, and apparently so did Jacksonville.
