But no, as far as uniforms go, Bucs are up there, and the winner of ugliest throwbacks is obviously the Steelers. These aren't bad...

Yeah, now that the subject comes up, those orange and white Bucs unis and the Steeler throwbacks have been pretty bad.

Of course, the Packers used to wear blue and gold, as a tribute to Notre Dame; the Pack didn't start wearing green until 1950.

Story time.

 

So a month or two ago, someone asked my mom to craft her something with one of the Cleveland teams on it, they let her pick. She decided to do all three and brings me her sheet of NFL and NBA and MLB stuff and asks me to point out the Cleveland teams. I find her the Browns logo in the sheet full of helmets and she says "okay, so what's their logo?" "Uh, you're looking at it." "Their helmet is their logo?" "Yeah, basically." "...But that's SO BORING!!" "And so is the team, so at least it fits. Moving on to basketball..."

Now that's cold, but I like it.

In a sense, by talking about these new unis for the Browns, I feel like a member of the Fashion Club at Lawndale High School - for all of you "Daria" fans out there, and you know who you are.

In a sense, these uniforms remind me of the Browns teams from the late seventies to early eighties - the so-called "Kardiac Kids".

Whether or not the team can obtain the personnel to re-create those days is left up to the management.

I've had that song on my mind while thinking of old friends from high school.

A double-dip - Rhythm Heritage and the "Theme from S.W.A.T.", followed by "All Right Now", by Free.

I hope this blast from the sixties and seventies comes up a winner.

Well sure, if Vince gets a hold of him. From what I hear they are negotiating and it is all on Triple H. Hunter wants to bring Joe to NXT and that may actually be... Best for Business for Joe than going on Raw and SD. 

If Samoa Joe is signed by one Hunter Hearst Helmsley and is placed with NXT, and is kept there, then I don't know how long Joe would be on that side of WWE - however, should he work his way through NXT and end up in the main heart of the promotion, then he could conceivably be seen on Raw or SD.

I shall have to wait and see how this turns out, friends.

Personally, I would much rather see him in either Ring of Honor or Ohio Valley Wrestling.

I hear that Samoa Joe may be going to WWE.

Any thoughts?

Oh gosh...the Raiders and the 49ers in the same division? That could get ugly.....

I suspect it would get that way, Dom - were it to come to pass.

I would rather see the Rams go back to Los Angeles than to see a joint stadium with the Raiders and Chargers as tenants - for that matter, I believe that a joint stadium featuring the Rams and Chargers would be acceptable.

Once again, I find the song, "Man of Constant Sorrow" on my mind.

Yeah, the "Oh Brother, Where Art Thou?" soundtrack does hold up.

A few minutes ago, I noted from the ticker that Swansea City defeated Man Utd. by a 2-1 score.

I have a friend over in Oak Ridge who backs the Swans, so he should be pleased.

In regard to the impending Champions League Round of 16 match-up involving Juventus and Dortmund - who do you have advancing to the quarterfinals from this one?

With the "Royal Rumble" less than one week away, does anyone expect an appearance by Sting?

Just as my friend and I were settling in to catch the TNA debut on Destination America, the fire alarm in the building where we reside went off!  We both went down to the community room on the ground floor, and we waited until the fire department came - turns out there was a fire on the second floor of the building, and we had to wait until the fire was put out, so we missed TNA last week.

Please, someone here let me know what we missed.

For those who have DirecTV like myself, Destination America is channel 286. I can't wait for TNA!

Well, Dom, it was basically because Spike had been losing money on TNA iMPACT Wrestling - I will admit, though, I have to like the "never-say-die" spirit of TNA as compared to WWE.
