  1. "The Baron", by Johnny Cash. I remember this song from my days in broadcasting school in the early eighties, and it is still a good song.
  2. I have "Invincible" on DVD, thanks for the reminder.
  3. Interesting - I never knew this. Thanks for the heads-up.
  4. This past fall, there was a small article in SI wherein a sports marketing firm is planning to launch a professional cricket league here in America. The version of cricket to be played is called Twenty20, or T20 - a variant wherein a match can be completed in three hours. There are no teams announced as of yet, nor locations for the clubs, but the firm is hoping to make good - and I'm looking forward to this. I welcome your comments in regard to this possible new league.
  5. I may try to obtain "The Tender Trap" on DVD sometime soon; great Frank Sinatra movie with Debbie Reynolds, Celeste Holm and David Wayne.
  6. "Giddy On Up, Giddy On Out" - Laura Bell Bundy. Not a bad song.
  7. Since you've asked, my favorite sports movie is Slap Shot; I can recall parts of this movie to anyone, and the Hanson Brothers stole the show!
  8. I'm giving this team name a definite maybe.
  9. Earlier today, Swansea City picked up three points with a win at Anfield. I just hope that Swans can avoid relegation.
  10. Arsenal has a 4-0 lead on Swansea City; all I can say is that it's going to be a long road back for Swansea City after relegation.
  11. I'll be watching and waiting with baited breath, Nightman.
  12. Bob Bradley has been fired at Swansea City, I notice. I suppose Swans are looking at ways to avoid relegation - at least for now.
  13. That game should be good.
  14. The bowl game which interests me outside of the Playoffs is the Orange Bowl - Michigan versus Florida State. As a native Michiganian, I'm for the Blue and Maize. Hail to the Victors Valiant!
  15. Interesting, Nightman - never knew he was considered to coach the Ravens. As for a HC in the Hall, I would have to go with either Gibbs, Coryell or - brace yourselves, here;s a blast from the past - Oail Andrew Phillips, alias Bum Phillips. Those are my choices, let me know what you think of them.
  16. It could happen, Inqui - still, I believe that anything is possible in the Premier League.
  17. I've just checked the Premier League standings, and while i'm pleased with the performance of Watford, Spurs and Everton, I'm dismayed by the performance of Hammers, Leicester City and especially Swansea City. I welcome your comments in this concern.
  18. Those guys at Florida Atlantic had better be ready, for he'll foul them up, big time. I just wonder if he's ready for Lockhart Stadium in Fort Lauderdale, where FAU plays their home rounds.
  19. From what I understand, this past weekend's Army-Navy game was a close one - I can only imagine the number of times each side coughed up the ball due to the weather. Still, I am rather pleased that the Black Knights of the Hudson came away with the win.
  20. In keeping with this time of year, the song that comes to mind is "I Want A Hippopotamus For Christmas". Wacky, isn't it?
  21. Those rugby rivalries in Australia do include - I hope - the annual State of Origin series between New South Wales, aka the Blues, and Queensland, aka the Maroons.
  22. I would love to see the Nittany Lions and the Hokies make the most and win their conference championships.
  23. Essendon vs.Hawthorn - Australian Rules Football Another from Aussie Rules - Carlton vs. Collingwood.
  24. As of late, "Daddy Lessons" - by Beyonce and the Dixie Chicks. Now that rocks!
  25. I couldn't agree more, VermontRaven - I now think an eight team playoff may work; even a twelve team playoff may just work. In the case of an eight-team edition, we could incorporate the four major bowls; in regard to a twelve-team, we could give the top four sides a bye, and then let nos. five-twelve duke it out - with the winners advancing to the next round.
