  1. I've just heard of this group from the Detroit area, Captain Ivory - look them up on YouTube, they're very good, especially on "False Remedy".
  2. I haven't watched Ring of Honor - I hope to see the show someday.
  3. I would just love to see that match, Franchise. I really would.
  4. How are the Columbus Crew doing as of now?
  5. Does anybody know what's supposed to happen to ODB in Impact Wrestling? I think I may have seen her on the telecast recently, and I'm just curious.
  6. I tend to agree with you, friend - I am now feeling as though pro wrestling has passed me by. I do miss those Saturday nights, when there was World Championship Wrestling on the SuperStation, though. Now, that was true pro wrestling!
  7. Now this is something I can look forward to.
  8. Sounds to me like improvement at Boelyn Ground, Upton Park - home to the Hammers. I look forward to the Premier League Standings today.
  9. So, you're one for the Andy Griffith Show. That's good, as I enjoy it, also, from time to time. In regard to the Big Bang Theory, I have to admit, Sheldon is the straw that stirs the drink - much like J.R. Ewing was on Dallas, or even Sheriff Taylor in Mayberry.
  10. I noticed that West Ham United is hosting Man U on Saturday. I'll try my best to watch it, as it may be on Fox Television here.
  11. I had been looking forward to the new season of "Dallas", however I now have to wonder how the series will do without Larry Hagman, who passed away yesterday at age 81. He shall be missed.
  12. So, I see that you, too, are one for Dallas. I hope I can get basic cable again come the first of the month, so I can catch the next season of the series this January. I can only wonder what J.R. has in mind next.
  13. I'll admit that I no longer have basic cable, and that most of the current programs don't wash down well in my throat for me, but I do obtain shows on DVD. Among my favorites (which show my age) are the following: M*A*S*H Wonder Woman Dallas (both original and new edition) Ellery Queen Angie Daria The Fugitive Barney Miller Roc Big Bang Theory Family Guy Those are my fave-raves.
  14. I'll admit - the ending to this year's Champions League final was, in a sense, a fairy tale come true. At least for this year, we can say these words: English football triumphs.
  15. Has anyone heard in regard to the current condition of a wrestler named Archie Gouldie? Archie wrestled in the Stampede promotion in Calgary many years ago under the name Archie "the Stomper" Gouldie, and later wrestled as the Mongolian Stomper.
  16. I know this may seem like an obscure post in this thread, but recently I was viewing on YouTube, and there was a video of one wrestler from the regional days of the sport - Bob Armstrong - being inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame. I would appreciate it very much if someone would let me know what year his induction took place, as i had been a fan of the legendary "Marietta Strongman" some years ago.
  17. Franchise, I certainly have to hope that Matt can be corrected for his situation, although the possibility that we are witnessing a tragedy in the making is also there. This is what bothers me when I look at this situation, and it reminds me of an example from the eighties and early nineties - the Von Erichs. I just don't want to see a repeat of that set of tragedy happen again.
  18. Earlier tonight I was listening to the Goldberg theme - talk of a one-hit wonder - and someone had commented that Goldberg was coming back to the sport. Have any of you here heard any of this? Please confirm.
  19. Based on your posts here, as well as your researching and presentation of information, Franchise, I believe that you deserve it, my friend.
  20. Based on what I've just seen and read, Warrior has turned into one pitiful case. He literally thinks he's still a heel, cutting promos for the marks who are dumb enough to buy it - as Jim Cornette would say.
  21. I haven't had the chance to check with Ring of Honor yet, so please give me a head's up on what's happening there.
  22. You've got to be kidding me, Franchise - Batista in MMA? I will believe it when it happens. I'm sorry if I sound skeptical in this post, it's just that I wasn't expecting this to happen.
  23. Over the past few weeks, I have been listening to some comments made by Jim Cornette concerning the now-defunct World Class Championship Wrestling promotion, and it really got me to see just what brought about the downfall of the promotion. Jim summed it up by stating that at one point, the Von Erichs and World Class were bigger than the Dallas Cowboys, and only five to six years later, they were the butt of a joke. All in the same city. This has me interested in getting a World Class t-shirt from a company out in Utah, which I would like to do next month - just so I can say that this promotion actually existed.
  24. I, too, hope that the new ownership at Ring of Honor doesn't meddle, Franchise. This would make quite a difference for what we think of as professional wrestling in this day and age. To be honest, I came of age during the days of the regional promotions, such as Verne Gagne's AWA and also Jim Crockett Promotions in Charlotte, which became World Championship Wrestling. When Vince McMahon got to be so powerful, I was into the then-current WCW organization. With Vince's takeover of WCW, I thought it was too much for me and tried to steer clear of pro wrestling for some while. Even Impact was something I tried to avoid. Now, with this news of the change of hands at ROH, I look forward to seeing something new - provided I have the chance to see it available to me in my area of the country.
  25. I, too, have learned of the passing of the "Macho Man" on Yahoo, just a few minutes ago, and I was startled to learn of this passing. The "Macho Man" was quite a character, especially with his ring persona, and he had quite a style when he performed his craft. It saddens me to think that just as he was getting started with a new wife, his life has been cut short. Rest Well, "Macho Man" Randy Savage, for you have earned it.
