  1. For me, 'tis the Eagles in the NFC and the Bills in the AFC.
  2. When I was younger, one of the most popular shows was "Laverne & Shirley"; my mother despised that show, saying that the two of them were so dumb, and I had to explain that Ms. DeFazio and Ms. Feeney were friends of the Fonz. Recently, I caught some of the show on MeTV, and I thought the show was wacky, and deserving to be a hit. i welcome your comments.
  3. After reading some of the posts in this thread, I suspect that both the Rams and the Chargers would be moving the minute the season is over; should the referendum on a new stadium in San Diego go down badly, and the Chargers lose, then the Spanos family would be eager to load eight suitcases and eight moving vans to head up Interstate 5 to Los Angeles. As for the Rams, I suspect that Kroenke will most likely announce his plans after the final home game of the regular season. Should this happen, then I suspect the Rams would play their home games in the Coliseum for a year or two, and the Chargers would use the Rose Bowl for a year or two in an agreement with UCLA and the Tournament of Roses. I welcome your comments.
  4. What do you here think of "Flashpoint"? I was considering obtaining the series on DVD. I welcome your comments and suggestions.
  5. Inspired by a t-shirt I saw on ebay, I looked up this track on YouTube - "Creature Without a Head", by Lenny and the Squigtones - you know them as Lenny and Squiggy from "Laverne & Shirley".
  6. Lately, there has been talk of NHL expansion - mostly due to the Arizona Coyotes getting nervy to find a new arena deal, and also due to Las Vegas building a new arena - Quebec City, too, for that matter. Other sites which may be of interest are Milwaukee, Seattle, Portland (Oregon), Kansas City, Houston and even - long shot here - Madison (Wisconsin). I would like to hear from all of you as to where you think a good site to relocate or expand to may be.
  7. Ah, Hartford - I loved the Whalers; Quebec City is also a pleasurable choice.
  8. Yeah, Dubs - I'll admit to Saskatchewan being a longshot, as the only city I can think of in that province is Saskatoon. Which reminds me - back in 1983, Saskatoon came close to having the St. Louis Blues relocate to their city, provided the NHL would approve of the sale of the club by its then-owner, Ralston Purina. The Board of Governors turned the sale down flat, so the Blues onwership responded by boycotting that year's Entry Draft. Dumb move.
  9. I'm stunned by this sad news - I may have despised those Raider teams during the seventies, yet these were some very good amalgamations of talent, during what is now looked back upon as a sort of "Silver Age" of pro football. I will be waiting to see how the Raiders play this season in response to his passing.
  10. Does anyone think the Columbus Crew stand a chance for the rest of the season in MLS? I welcome your responses.
  11. I'm curious as to where Peyton ranks.
  12. The story going on the 'net is that Cowboy James Storm and Magnus are both leaving TNA after tommorow's Slammiversay PPV. I now have the sense the ship is going down I welcome your comments.
  13. This thread reminds me - I really should look for some Andy Griffith Show DVDs on the 'net.
  14. I may not have cable, but I will be anxious to see how the Texans do in this edition of the series.
  15. Do any of you here recall a sketch comedy show called "Fridays"? I have been viewing a "Best of Fridays" DVD set, and I find it to be quite an eye opener. I remember the show from when I was younger, back in the eighties. I welcome your comments.
  16. Although I didn't get to see the Champions League final, I offer my congratulations to Barcelona for a job well done.
  17. I take it you would like to see, say, the United States have it awarded to them. If so, then I favor such a move.
  18. I don't think that a throwback uniform would work out - unless, as one person here suggested, we throwback to the original Colts of the AAFC; green and silver. That would be wild, at least to me.
  19. I just don't see why the NFL doesn't adapt the World Football League approach to touchdowns - seven points for an unconverted touchdown, with the "Action Point" being run or passed - not kicked - from the two yard line. This makes more sense to me - in fact, in my fictional pro football circuit, which I play out using the board game, "Second Season", i usually count the touchdown this way. I welcome your comments.
  20. I just checked the web, and it turns out the Champions League final will be in Berlin, not Munich. The final is still next Saturday, though. I stand corrected.
  21. So, the Champions League Final is coming up on June 6th in Munich, I believe, featuring Barcelona and Juventus. I have no favorite in this final, and yet - it should be interesting to watch. I welcome your comments.
  22. I guess you all have heard - Ring of Honor is coming to Destination America! Their show will air Wednesday nights at 8PM, Eastern time, starting on June 3rd. I welcome your comments.
  23. I shall be watching for the results of tonight's Game Seven between Washington and the Broadway Blueshirts with baited breath.
  24. Last week, one of the legends of the "Pre-WWE" days, alias the Territories, passed on. His name was Ron Wright, and he could get into a good scrap or two in his day - hey, he got into many a scrap many years ago in the Southeast Championship Wrestling territory in East Tennessee. He was known for his "Tennessee Chain Matches" - which could be somewhat savage - and his loaded boot. Sadly, Ron passed away on April 21, 2015, in his hometown of Kingsport, Tennessee, at the age of 76. He will be missed.
