  1. I'm a little surprised at this move and wonder what they're up to.
Did we see enough from Dixon and West to determine we need a 3rd RB? I didn't think they did too bad considering the year we had and the fact that we rarely ran the ball.
Also, nothing mentioned about how much we'll pay him, just cheaper than Juice.
I'm not up on all the CBA stuff but can Woodhead be cut if he doesn't outshine our other 2 backs? Could he be a camp body for testing the waters with him or is he definitely on our team now?

  2. So far, all these moves make perfect sense. It's a heavy draft plus we have some young guys pushing for time. Folks may say that Ozzie has lost it but I don't think so and remember, he's not the sole person making these decisions. We only have cap room for a couple top paid stud players (Besides Joe of course :-) ) so in order to get more chances of getting another cheap phenom for 3-4 years like a Ray Lewis or Ed Reed, Ogden, we're probably going to trade back in the draft and pick up a bunch of guys to work out this spring. Going to be an interesting off season!

    Wow. Not happy.

Will not be engaging on FB or any other platforms because it doesnt allow for actual discussion. Just one or two lines of unsubstantiated, emotional garbage or "hot takes."

Plus, i dont want to be bombarded with advertising while discussing the Ravens...

But, i guess you cant really advertise on here and capitalize on the "engagement" so why bother.

Im being unreasonable, but i dont care.

I with you! and you're not being unreasonable. It's all true! FB sucks and is an intrusion at the very least and advertising is what it's all about. So sad. I guess they want a younger fan base as well as younger players. Out with the old......

  4. I hate to say it but unless there's a top 3-4 guy left for us at 16 (Which I don't see happening), I see us trading back to get extra picks. It's one of the deepest drafts in recent history and we love extra picks so I don't see us reaching for a player. I think we can get two sexy corners and a WR or pass rusher in rounds 2-3 anyway. You stay with your 1st round pick and you're going quality over quantity. Trade back for more opportunities and it's more quantity over quality, as we've seen the last few years but this year, it appears there's quality in quantities in many of our positions of need.

  5. I think this will be one of our hardest drafts yet. We have so many needs that it would be almost impossible to tell which way we'll go and either way we do go, we'll need more than one guy to be a starter, if we expect to better our 8-8 record from last season. Are we going to push to get younger at key positions or will we sign vets to fill those holes? With all the "special" guys we've put on Special teams over the years, those guys should be putting up some points! We can all remember the "Name" guys we've stashed on the PS and ST and our big bust picks but there's a dozen or more that I've forgotten their names over the last 2 years and I wonder what ever happened to them and are they still on our team somewhere?

  6. I think Loque is wrong. I don't believe Cruz would be our best option. Although FA's like Weddle, Jacoby, Sharpe ect, have worked out for us in the past, I'd rather invest in our younger WR core and spend our money on Defense. Good CB's are expensive as are good pass rushers and we need both. Oft injured 30 somethings just worry me when you have to count on these guys for a whole season.
I think we'll use Perriman a whole lot more next season. He looks the part and after a year under his belt and another off season with Joe, I see him as our go to guy and it looks like we might see a few 2 TE sets to play with too so spending that money on a WR, just doesn't seem like the right way to go for us but it's just my opinion.

  7. Williams is a solid player at the very least and his personality goes a long way in the locker room. 34/35 solo tackles this year and I believe he was in the top 5 for DT's in the league last year and he played almost every game since his rookie year so he's durable. I think he deserves a payday within what the top players at that position got paid in 2016. 9.5 Mil a year, 5 year deal, seems reasonable to me with inflation but when you look at our cap space and our needs, nearly 10 million for a DT seems a bit high for the Ravens to be able to pay and still address the many other "top paid" positions we need filled this year. I'm just glad I don't have to make any of those final decisions. It makes my head hurt just pondering what the right thing to do is sometimes. I can't imagine what it is having to actually make a decision and live or die by it.
That's why they make the big bucks and we pay the big bucks I guess! :-)

  8. Ya, it is expensive to take a family of 3 to a game. We try to do it twice a year if we can but now we're in PA so it's more like one game a year for us and it has to be against Pittsburgh, which is even more expensive. I do enjoy the "Fan experience and as long as you're not sitting at the top of the bowl, you get to see stuff you can't on TV and those new screens look awesome however, watching the games on a 72" big screen, sitting in heated reclining theater seats with bass kickers in them and 7.1 Dolby surround sound with some Taco dip and a cold beer in a glass will have to do for when I can't make or afford to go in person.
Plus, I have a bathroom and a "Pause" button here! :-)

When we play in London, they don't tailgate there so we'll be able to BBQ some Bangers and mashed here and walk around using proper English and shouting God save the Queen or something for the day and it will almost be better than being there! :-)
