Whoo-Hoo,
WHAT TIME IS IT??
Flacco has the "Mink cut" :-)
It's not that far fetched that Webb could lose his starting job to Melvin and I predict he will start over Webb right away. I'm going to miss Webby and I think you'd be fooling yourself to think he'll make a come back from this, He may pull a miracle but I just don't see it happening. Too many injuries back to back and not from direct contact in too many instances.
#92 on the Rams is a punk for that cheap shot. Big tough guy,... right.
Ya, it sucks that we can't play with our shiny new toy but Perriman will be out there as soon as they feel he can compete effectively without hesitation due to a lingering injury.
Since we're not hearing the whole story from the FO, I imagine it could be an attitude thing of not wanting to risk injuring himself further, so early in his career, (which should prove to be a lucrative one!)or it could be something else that is none of our business to know. He's our 1st round draft pick, he's not going anywhere and we have some talent at WR already that may take offense at how worried some are that Perriman isn't out there yet.
Like MichaelJ34 said "REALAX". We have a great team, with or without Perriman and we'll see him in Purple when it's best for him and the team.
I hear what you're saying @aaronmicah but it's hard to make that evaluation when we don't know for sure, why he has missed 9 practices. He could be yelling at the coaches that he wants to be in there and the doctors/trainers could be telling them there's no rush and to be extra careful just because we can. I can't throw the man under the bus just yet, we have to see how it all pans out first. However, in the back of my mind, if I can walk, I'm lying, cheating and conniving my way onto that field! I'd be waiting outside Harb's office, first thing every morning, doing Pilates in the hall as he comes in but that's just me :-)
Yep, Smith going "All in" will definitely help our team.
Because SSS is so loved by the players and fans, you want the best for him and I DO think it will add a little something extra to their efforts on the field and off, just like it did when the players wanted to let Ray go out on top. I think it is good to think SB from the 1st pre season game instead of us losing 3 out of the 1st five and hearing the players quote how long a season it is. It's not a long season, it is only 16 games and if you lose more than 4 of them, you may not make the playoffs so having the all or nothing attitude from the start may be a good thing. At least I don;t think it will hurt any!
I wouldn't make him pay to replace the camera if he hits it from anywhere beyond 60yds!
Gotta love Tucker. He's a character alright. He made it easy to forget that other HOF kicker we used to have and I didn't think that was possible. What the heck was his name again?
Sounds like our 2ndary is getting the plays down, with all the IT's going on now. They've learned the drill. A good sign plus, it keeps Flacco honest on his throws.
Time to practice against another team. Come on Thursday!!
After reading some of the comments people post, I find it hard to believe that people in here are complaining about someone's grammar and spelling? The same commenters who use words like "ya" for you and "is" for his or "browns" instead of Browns are criticizing this guy. Some people's glass houses must have all the windows broken out.
You may be a gooder speller than me but you missed the point completely. That's a whole nuther thread right there :-)
I hear ya Bat-mite. I ride that horse a bit myself sometimes but I usually just suffer these things in silence but that sign tells me that, not only did he flunk school but so did all his friends. Not one person in is group even noticed? I'm just assuming he's a browns fan :-)
I know, I tend to focus on the the stupid things but the thing that gets me is, this guy had plenty of time before he made that sign, to check his spelling. Doesn't he have any friends that can spell? I don't know, if I thought I was going to get my sign on TV for millions of people to see, especially a presidential debate, I'd try a little harder to give my 3rd grade teacher a little more credit
She must be cowering in a corner somewhere. :-)
I have to admit, it WAS funny though.
First round pick, lots of money.....Ya, I'm sitting him. It is valuable to have him out there getting reps with Joe but if you screw up his knee where he's missing several games this year, you could ruin your brand new thoroughbred. Na, we got WR's that can get us all the way. Let Perriman heal 110%. We are NOT counting on Perriman to get us to the SB this year. That's next years expectations. This year, we just need hm to get some game time, learn his craft then tear it up for about 10 years with ol joe at the helm!
Ya, our corners are going to determine the type of ball we play. Webb needs a good year not just for the team but for himself. The years are ticking by and so few get to go out the right way. I hope he can become the guy we know he can be and eventually leave this game with his health in tact and a ring or two to show off for all the hard work and dedication he had to get them. One of my favorite player but also one that I hold my breath with.
We've got key weapons this year that will help us keep teams guessing. There are so many plays we could do well. We can run the ball with Forsett and Taliferro but if you crowd the line of scrimmage, we can play action pass and if you snooze on that, we can bomb it deep. If we happen to have a few miscues and our drive stalls, as long as we get to the 50yd line, we can get 3!
As always, injuries and such could change the dynamics but with our depth at a lot of positions, we should be able to hang through the season. I predict we get one more game this year and end with an 11-5 record.
There's no real rush on Perriman. Be safe with the knee. He can still learn the playbook and get coached up for now. We'll probably see him practice next week before our pre season opener and he'll get some reps in, I'm sure.
I am hoping Marlon is OK. Not sounding good and we need him out there.
ON a side note, I have noticed that Joe Flacco is looking sharp! I think all this talk of him not doing so well until the playoffs has a fire under his butt this year! :-)
Well, there you have it. Our first serious injury. We're still doing better than last year but poor Elam. I had high hopes for him this year. He's been working on his game and looked to have matured over the off season that I had hoped he would break out this season.
I'm curious to know, how many teams actually make it to their first game without losing any players for the season and if there are any, how many times do they make it to the playoffs? I think if you don't lose any players, your camps may be a bit soft.
Ya man, Tuning up! I love it!
I really have a good feeling about this year. I think Ozzie and company has put together a heck of a team. We're poised to let the vets take us into the first half and have a couple of the young guys stepping up after the break. Can't ask for a better situation than that.
"I'm really just an assessor"
You got that right Steve. We're used to having a tough D to practice against. Don't let up on them young guys, they need the beating to forge them into hardened steel!
Ahhh, Webb being on the PUP is kinda noteworthy isn't it?
I understand not passing the conditioning test (Actually I really don't but...) but that shouldn't designate you to the PUP list does it? Plus, why can't Webb pass the test he knew was coming and when? Either he didn't train well enough in the off season or he's still hurt. Either way, he's a vet and that's not good in my book.
That's why we love you so much Steve!
Another point,
The Ravens organization may feel the same way I do and could never tell an athlete that it was time to hang up the cleats but maybe if he isn't starting the season, and he sees his replacements in there doing well, he'll get the idea that maybe his health is worth more than being there for his teammates. I guy like Dennis and probably every player we pick, is chomping at the bit to get out there and start the season. Having Dennis start the season as the starter, would put undue pressure on his ultimate decision. The PUP give him time and takes the pressure off.
This would be a smart move. Pitta is under contract so there's no need to rush him out on the field, especially when we have some quality backups behind him to take the reps until he's ready and after 6 games off, he'll be able to come in with fresh legs for our playoff run. If he isn't able to come back from this, we'll just stick with the guys that got us to that point.
I personally think he should give what's left of his hips, to his family.
I love you Dennis but I'd rather know you're doing well 20 years from now than have you give it your all for us now and be laid up and have your kids pushing you in a wheelchair. It's just not worth it and very few get to go out like Ray Lewis did anyway.
I wish Pitta all the best, no matter what his decision is but it sure will be hard watching him play.
At this point, I don't see any glaring weaknesses.
It will all shake out this fall but on paper, we're talented a couple rows back.
Being able to rotate out quality players in the same position is huge! It may be a little rough while some of the younger guys start coming into their own, but with all this talent, we are definitely going to have some newer guys step up and I think we'll have a star in nearly every position, by mid season.
It just feels like we're stacked this year, can't wait to see how it all pans out!
Whoo-Hoo! I absolutely LOVE these type of conversations. It's been so long since we've had pass catching talent like this. Actually, I don't think we've EVER had this many guys who can catch the ball! I'm giddy with excitement! Only like 50some days left to go?
I also think the type of passing plays we pull out this year might surprise us too. I see a lot of routes coming with positions that didn't usually catch the ball a lot, getting more looks this year. I see a multi-dimensional team right now that could beat you with our D, with our QB and receivers or running it down your throat with 3 different guys until you stop it. Then we'll throw it some more!
I Know it won't be that easy but right now, my purple kool-aid cup, runneth over!
GO RAVENS:-)
BTW, Love the new avatar Sami! Got that mystery look going on :-)

There were some real positives to come from that game.
Melvin is looking good, Vauhn was all over the place and looking like he wants to play.
Our O line didn't look bad at all, considering how many 3rd and 4ths we had in there. I think they held their own and kept defenders off our QB pretty well.
However, Joe stunk last night and that's why the "Elite" question will always be there. The man can throw a ball into a trash can from 50yds, in the rain but can't hit a 6'6 WR that's wide open.
Ya, we definitely stank up the joint but, I believe the Eagles had a chip on their shoulder because many of our guys were alluding to Chip Kelly's practice tempo being a bit soft. What do you think of the soft practices now guys.
Also, we're talking about it's only pre season and we'll get some of the injured guys back for the regular season but injuries caused us major issues last year and now again this year. I don't see how the injury thing gets better when the games count and many of our top guys, even if healthy, are still coming off of injuries. I don't see that as a positive thing.
IDK, maybe I'm just ticked because I didn't see too many players, play like a Raven last night.
Here's hoping our team looks different next weekend. Of course though, we will be playing the redskins so if we stink again, I'm going to be real concerned.
