Joe is done I'm in favor of Ryan Mallet starting and I except all yall criticism because it don't fly over here! Blaming the O line and Trestman is getting old other players are getting replaced or cut but one! It is whut it is! That's two in a row at home SMH!
this purple dog 96 is the same dude that for the whole past year was advocating benching joe in favor of schaub, claiming we would have won the superbowl with him...
until when they actually were FORCED to play him, and then he shut his mouth up...
Yep purple dawg is a troll who just hates Joe.
A Troll huh Lol better not say that to my face buddy! But just like I said Mallet beat the hottest team in football with backups and look now couldn't get a first down last week and came up short Sunday! Fingers are pointed at every player on this team but one! Sincerely the Troll! Lol
P S collecting championships over Cavs Buckeyes and maybe Indians so call me what you like BUDDY I'm good!
I'm with you Purple Troll LOL. It's not all Joe's fault of course, there's plenty of blame to go around (Suggs off side penalties every game, Perrimans dropped passes, Smith and Geesh wright not being very good in coverage, Special teams putting a whole new meaning to "special" and so much more) but Joe is not playing like a multi million dollar man by any stretch. Cousins smoked him and looked way more poised! I was yelling at the TV when they were trying to draw Washington off sides and Joe didn't even TRY to work it at all! He just stood there looking at the sideline. Really ticked me off. As far as many saying Joe is still hurt and to give him a break well, He seems to be able to roll out of the pocket twice to make plays Sunday and even Harbs himself said that "We don't put guys out there that aren't 100%, we just don't do that". Joe is fine physically just not as an Elite QB. He throws off his back foot too much and is a statue most of the time. They need to practice more with rushers coming at him to teach him to move around in the pocket more. Almost every other QB in the league moves a little in the pocket when needed. It's going to be a dismal season because there's nothing we can do to fix this unless we have a bunch of stars on the practice squad!
Not only does Geesh wright and Jimmy Smith need to be on top of their game but our pass rush needs to be spot on as well. They both go together because neither is stellar enough to hold their own. If one is lacking, the other gets creamed!
When we lost the Colts, I hated that the redskins games were shoved down our throats. Never liked the Deadskins as they were a bunch of thugs back then.
I actually gave up football for 12 years (Outside of playing some fantasy for a few years) until we got our beloved Ravens (Baltimore Browns). I wouldn't say it's a rivalry for me but I never want to lose to them and smashing them to bits is a little better and I respect the Steelers and think that's a true rivalry however, it's nothing like I want to crush NE and Lady Brady!
Hmmm, we may not have as many serious injuries this year but the shuffle game still seems to be in full force.
If Stanley had a broken leg, he'd still be better out there than Hurst!
Hmmmm, Doesn't seem any better than what we already have. Maybe here to spell Webb a little more?
Wright keeps getting picked on and abused...time to use Tavon Young or somone else outside with Jimmy
Young is so small that I think he'd be killed if he were to cover the average WR. a 5'9 183lb CB probably won't do well against a 6'2 WR.
Webb is only 5'-10"
SSR seemed the only one with fire on sunday, total shame we couldn't get 10 more yards against the worst defense in football,it was sad.
Sad thing on the pass to Aiken to end the last drive, Steve was open down the sidelines for 10 yards or more.
I saw that too. Joe never looked his way. He made up his mind he was throwing to Aiken.
3 hours ago, The Mom Gene said:When are people going to start reading......... JOE was the one that said we were good early... NOT ME!
By "People" should "Read", I assume you mean me, well, that goes both ways sweety. Joe said that in the article, I didn't say you did. If you're going to be so defensive, you should play for the Ravens, we could use your moxi :-)
Once a Raven, always a Raven Justin! Good luck to you. I know you'll land another job soon. I totally understand your decision. It's in your heart to play football and I know you'll get another chance.
Thanks for all your efforts with the team and the city of Baltimore!
True ..Joe did take a few sacks, but that is no excuse for over throwing the full back on the 3 yard line, plus he still is Under throwing all the deep receivers. Tressman has brought his Chicago Offence to Baltimore. So how do you like it so far Baltimore??? Not so much I am guessing. There so much wrong with this picture. No O-line, No open receivers, No separation, No creativity on plays. Yep...that's the Tressman playbook. Hey Joe just a quick tip. If your gonna get slammed in the pocket. The tuck it and run. Even if you get 2 yards and slide that is better then a snack. beside they won't hit you. They can't without a huge penalty. Come on Man
YES it is... When you are rushed, or you are pressured... You had Maxx Williams there for a bit helping to block, and then he got hurt, hence Flacco's comment about "I thought early in the game we were pretty good". Your throws are not going to be accurate. On top of that, you're telling a guy who just came off of an ACL/MCL to tuck it and run against Mack and Irvin... I'll just move on now... *sighs*
They were NOT good early in the game and Flacco isn't hurt. Harbs said it many times, they won't put a player out there that isn't 100%. Tuck that ball and lunge forward. IF Joe's ACL is an issue, we should be using our backup QB then. Just like if a receiver touches the ball, he should catch it, if Joe throws the ball, he should get it to his receiver. Why keep Stanley out then when he said he could have played? He's not coming off an ACL injury. Our coaches are supposed to be smart and we knew the Raiders had a good pass rush and we knew that our O line was suspect so why the surprise that Joe wasn't going to have a lot of time to throw? Shouldn't that been part of the "game plan" I'm really tired of all the excuses. SMH
I love reading the comments. I believe that most here are right about their assessments but not as much as they are mad about the outcomes sometimes. Here's my take on our team thus far.....(After a day to calm down!)
Joe is a good QB about 2 to 3 out of 5 plays or so on average, but surely is not "Elite".
This is football and there will be pressure (Unless you're Oakland Sunday) and Joe needs to be smarter with the football. One hopping balls and throwing to double/triple covered WR's off your back foot is not Elite, especially after 8 years of some of the best QB coaches in the game helping him. I don't care how much pressure there is. Yes, there were dropped balls and that happens but for someone getting paid over 100million dollars to play a game, I expect more. Actually break down his salary and divide by the amount of plays he makes in live games. It's several thousand dollars for each play. (Probably why a $40 Jersey cost $100 and it's several hundred dollars for two people to actually go to one game but I digress)
Our O-line obviously has some issues and our one normally uncontested "great" line player Yanda is not having great games of late. Jensen and Hurst aren't expected to be all that good, it's why they aren't normally starters and Trestman isn't as bad as he looks. I'm not saying he's the best but you can only do as good as what you have to work with and explaining what he "could have/ should have done", after the fact is not fair to anyone.
Jimmy Smith and Geesh Wright are not great corners and moving Webby to safety didn't do much for us although he finally had a few tackles Sunday, you won't find him on the ground much. You'll see him standing somewhere near the play but not close enough normally to do anything.
There's only 2 offensive guys that consistently block down field, SSS and Pitta. Everyone else just stands there.
Special teams isn't nearly as good as they portray them to be. 2 or 3 good plays out of 3 games is not good ST.
One fan wrote that we look like an 8-8 team and I too believe that's a fair assessment. It may not please the Kool-aid drinkers but at this point, I believe that's fair so let's be real.
One last thing,
When I look at the penalties and see it's usually a multi year veteran, that really ticks me off! You kind of expect it from a 1st year player at times but not from a Vet. That's a problem I think we've always had and I believe it has something to do with "some players" getting a free passes on that stuff. When I asses a player or teams ability, or even a worker in Wal-Mart, I equate it to how much they get paid to do their jobs. Although KO thinks 8 million isn't that much money, most of us won't make that much in a lifetime. If they played just for the "love of the game", I wouldn't complain nearly as much :-)
I loved the last one...."Ask your doctor if touchdowns are right for you"
Sounds like we could get into his head Sunday. Would be a smart move on our part. Raiders are a highly penalized team. Tick him off and get him swinging after the whistle and we'll get a couple first downs before they yank him! :-)
We're winning when we should win so there's that however, The O line needs lots of work on opening holes for our RB. Very little, if any blocking down field. Joe is Joe. He does well enough to win more games than we should lose and I'm glad he's our QB (Most times). Yanda is getting old and he's feeling it. The defense may be better this year but not our corners and that's a BIG problem. Wright and Smith are not very good and you just don't see Webby any more. There's enough game film on us now that if our pass rush slows any at all, QB's are going to pick us apart. I'm hoping Doom makes a difference and also hoping that Dixon can make holes where none exist, once he gets back. I fear the second half of the season when we start playing teams that won't give us as many opportunities but for now, it's one game at a time and next up are the Raiders at M&T. I'm sure we'll let them stay in the game for 58 minutes. Let's hope the Raiders mess up enough for us to get us to 4-0.
Ya, it was ugly but we need to get these wins now while we're playing lesser teams and hopefully, our guys are learning lessons as they go so we can be a more complete team come the bye. The Pittsburghs and New englands won't make as many mistakes to give us the games.
Sure could use a great corner and Dixon back!
I'm only worried about our secondary in this game. I see the Jags throwing deep and throwing often. We're on the road against a better team than we've played so far so we need to not let the Jags get going at all. If they get up 2 scores on us, it's going to be a long day. It's time to get a couple INT's and a few strip sacks and we'll beat them down.
I laughed out loud when Hester juked that guy out during the game. Looked even better on replay!
Suggs also is doing more than I was giving him credit for. Love to see that. Gives me even more hope for the way the rest of the season will go.
Joe is Joe and after 9 years, I'm not sure we'll see too many wholesale changes in his game. The whole team needs to play 60 minutes, it's just the way we're built. Joe isn't going to win many games by himself like a couple other QB's can do but if everyone around him is hitting on all cylinders, we'll win more than we lose. This last, come from WAY behind win, will go a long way in building our character and Jacksonville will put even more pressure on us this week so we'll see how we respond. It's all bumps on the road to the playoffs that builds a winning team and I believe we'll continue to grow. Our schedule is actually built for that kind of a season this year. Let's hope we can take advantage of it.
Don't know how much help Doom will be in the Jac game due to him not practicing very much up to this point. I know he's a vet and all but as we've seen so far with our other vets, you need to practice otherwise, live games become practice. If nothing else, having him in there may take the pressure off of Suggs a little bit. I'm hoping Doom can come back healthy and contribute right away, we need him.
On another note how terrible were those broadcasters. Whenever they mentioned a player or a unit they were always either the best in the league, top 3 or top 5.
Totally agree! They were the worst! Unfortunately we need a few more wins to gain the respect of networks to start covering us with their better broadcast teams.
Ya, it was one of the only times I've ever heard a broadcaster talk so highly of Flacco, even during the 1st Qtr when he was throwing at feet!
I really didn't think we could overcome a 20pt deficit so I am pretty proud of that, even if I wish we wouldn't need to bite our nails in nearly every game, usually down to the last few seconds before we know if we're going to win or not.
Joe is right, these types of games help toughen you up for later in the year and a win is a win. We're 2-0 and need to keep that rolling. I'm sure we'll get better as the year progresses. The run game needs a serious shot in the arm though and our 2 left side rookies had some schooling as well so I hope we can start to get it moving better in Jacksonville this weekend. Also looking forward to Kenneth Dixon coming back from injury soon. I definitely want to see how he does in a real game because he looked like a monster in pre season.
Flacco flat out owns the Browns? I thought everybody owned the Browns!
:-)
You know what gets me? This guy has caught exactly TWO passes for about a whopping total of 21 yards. That's it folks. Yet, people believe he is the second coming of Jerry Rice and the media talks about him like he is some kind of wunderkind. Lets wait until he actually does something on the field before we all get so excited about him. As far as I am concerned, school is still out until he proves he is worthy of that number one pick. Still waiting.
I'm with you. He has one catch as does Chris Moore. Breshad a #1 pick Moore a #5 pick. I hope he turns into another Dez Bryant type of receiver, but until I see a big upswing I'll hold my evaluation.
He will be, I'm sure of it. His first catch was a doozy and I believe it's only the beginning. They're just bringing him along slowly to be cautious. I don't believe we've ever picked a WR in the 1st round and we want to be sure he's brought up right so he can be the second coming of Jerry Rice! :-)
I think they're resting Breshad because he has very little time on the field and with our WR core, there's no sense in taking any chances in what I believe will be our star WR soon. They're easing him into action and I think that's the best way to ensure we have a quality WR for years to come. Perriman could be instrumental in our playoff run this season so bring him along slowly, there's no rush to have him going 110% just yet.

Perriman is still a rookie. He can make exceptional catches as we have seen. I'm not sure if it's fixable though. He had this problem in college too and it seems to have followed him. The Almost TD was probably more of him focusing on actually catching the ball. You have to do that first otherwise, where your feet are doesn't matter. I won't give up on Breshad just yet though. He has the potential to be one of the Best WR's we've had. He just needs to be coached up and keep practicing. Getting more opportunities would be a good start however, with only throwing the ball 7-8 yards a pop and only getting 2 or 3 opportunities a game, we're not going to see what he can do very quickly.
