  1. Yes, what you say is true. I guess, the right thing to do is probably more in the middle of both our points. It's when either side gets too extreme that things go awry.
I've come from a poor military family to where I am today through hard work. I'm middle income now but it took me decades so I see both sides.
I don't deny anyone from making a profit, it's how our system works.

Diamonds are a prime example of the kind of profit greed I speak of.
There are more diamonds than the companies actually put on the market so they hold back 50% of what they have on hand to drive the price up. Smart way to make lots of money but it puts a higher value on them than they are really worth. If they put all the diamonds that they kill poor people for, on the market as fast as they have the workers digging them up, diamonds would be worth about the same as a pet rock or Chia-pet.
Everything is made in China for pennies on the dollar. The Chinese live in squalor while some fat cats get rich beyond many folks dreams. This also kills the small business here in the U.S. because we can't compete with them. It's why all the large companies are moving to other countries and failing the U.S. citizens that helped them get there in the first place and don't get me started on Wal-Mart.

We send our troops into Iraq with Humvees that have no armor and folks get blown up when I think, we should have enough money to outfit them better with the largest spending and highest technology military in the world. Especially when you realize, they're getting blown up with many weapons we sold the enemy to begin with.
I think it's cheaper just to get another new soldier. That's the plight of the blue collar worker.

Well actually in this case it has very little to do with greed. Its mostly just a perk for a consumer who invests more money into the business than others do. And without those investments, a lot of the things fans take for granted at a football stadium would cease to exist. Some of the things other fans who pay $100 to get into a game get to experience, such as upgraded bathrooms, escalators, elevators, etc. are partially paid for by those rich people who buy those suites. So in many ways, you should be thanking them for some of the amenities that you get to experience in your gameday experience.

I for in obviously don't believe that everybody should be treated equally, mostly because its pretty clear that not everybody is equal. There's varying levels of skills, education, intelligence, and overall value to society. Some people are very valuable members to society, and others just skip through their lives with virtually no meaning or purpose, and certainly don't provide much societal value. It actually makes me laugh to think that those two people are supposed to be treated equally, when they themselves don't even treat society equally.

As far as brokers go, that's a product of a capitalistic society, and if you start down the path of trying to avoid those types of situations, then its probably time to head to another country all together, because those principles aren't going away, nor should they.

You have some very valid points here and I understand the way things are, it is what it is and yes, there are many who do not deserve some perks in life and because of their skipping through life with no meaning or purpose, they do not get to share in all things however, many times, it's not just a matter of how hard a person works, it's what schools they can attend or who you know. If your parents can afford a private school then send you to an Ivy league college, your chances are better at getting a good education which can result in higher paying positions and better opportunities but if you don't have wealthy parents and live in a lower income neighborhood, a single mother, a family that has a child with medical issues and the like, the only jobs available to you are blue collar, you do what you have to do and it is no less noble or society improving so in many ways, they should be thanking the lower income families that allow them to sit on their pedestals.
Also, I have found that the more money you make, the less you are inclined to be involved in societal value anyway. Society is ALL people, not just the rich ones. Many of those in the suites, sit behind glass, away from those "lesser people" who built that suite in the first place.
Without the blue collar worker, the teacher, coal miner, factory worker etc., many rich people wouldn't be able to survive on their own. Their money comes off of the hard work of others. The streets are paved by them, the schools and stadiums are built by them, their expensive cars are built by them. We need ALL people.
Also, heading to another country, while enticing to some, would not change anything because it's not just a USA thing, it's world wide and also takes more money than those without it can afford.
I'm sure we could have hours of great conversations on the subject. I'm not a hater and don't believe I'm right about all things but I do like a good debate :-) It's one way we can all come together to make a better world for everyone, (as long as we don't go to war over the subject).

Those suites generate a lot more profitability for the team than your tickets, jerseys, or beers ever will.

As is the case in ANY business, those who contribute the most to the bottom line are treated better.

And by the way... the bulk of those $350 tickets you're likely paying to a broker, not to the Ravens.

Not ANY business, Only the ones that are greedy, which is MOST businesses but that doesn't make it right.. I own a business and it ticks me off when someone tries to use money to sway me,They get booted right out. Ya, I'm not rich probably because of it but they can't take away my integrity.
You should never treat anyone better just because they give you more money. It's what got this country into the trouble we're in. It's how senate seats are won, it's how corporations can rape the little guy with impunity. All men are to be treated equal. I don't remember there being a "the ones with more money" added to that but I guess we should rewrite the history books again. And, as far as the broker thing goes, same thing goes for them. It's sad and it needs to change and until we stand up together, it will only get worse until the whole thing collapses. It happens to every major society in history, it's just a matter of how long it takes.

  4. The Ravens have actually been quite good at picking up aging vets and getting production out of them. I would dare say, there hasn't been a miss in that department (Maybe Doom). I fully expect to see another aging vet on our offense before it is all said and done. Remember, we did pick up Woodhead, Tony Jefferson and Brandon Carr so with our track record, I'd say these guys are going to help a lot! We also got enough defensive players in the draft that we should be able to shake out a couple really good players to make an impact and at the least, add some depth with a few until they are ready to start. We also have some first and second year PS and bench warmer guys that everyone has forgotten about too such as Nembot and Tavon Young, who I think are going to be really good players for us. Canady, Kafusi come to mind as well. The sky isn't falling. The FO want to win too and they have more at stake with it than we do so here is reason to be optimistic IMHO. Our defense is going to be scary good.

  5. Also,
We averaged 21 points a game and our opponents averaged 20 points per game against us last season. Even though our record didn't get us into the playoffs, it tells me we weren't that far off from having a few of those games fall our way. Now that we look to have an even more awesome D, what will be our opponents average points be against us this season? 20 per game avg? looks that way on paper so far. That's just stopping them from reaching FG range one time more per game and I think we'll do far better than that. Now our offense doesn't HAVE TO score 30 points. Ya, I'd like to have 4 WR's that catch everything that's thrown to them and an O line that doesn't allow anyone to get to Joe ever and open huge holes for our RB's but you can't have it all. As far as I see it, our D will help our O and that's the next best thing we could hope for with the way all the projected top flight O guys went off the board before we could get to them. The Ravens know how to shop with the best of them. Luck also plays a part and that has a way of going around the room.

  6. We're gong to be Stellar against the pass AND the run. Our new pass rush guys are very good at breaking up plays, run or pass, setting the edge and plenty of speed and tackling ability, not to mention, hassling QB's as their #1 job for which they were picked. Folks have been crying about getting back to a great defense and after last seasons late game lead losses, this is great news. As far as our WR's, we do have some talent there. Chris Moore is going to be something special I think. Perriman has shown some clutch ability and if he can start catching the easy ones, he'll be here for quite a while. Wallace will get the job done and will help our receiver core get better. We also have a couple TE's on our roster as well as Woodhead to catch passes too. We're also not done adding players and adding veterans to fill the left over holes when this is all said and done, will help bring some of the new guys and PS members from last year up to par. With the way the draft fell for us, I really can't see doing much better.
You can't be too mad at the FO the way I see it, we're a lot better than last year and all those #1 guys picked by our competitors in this draft still have to make the transition AND stay healthy.
I guess the moral of this story is, don't be mad at what we didn't do, be happy for what we DID do.

  7. The Ravens know what they're doing but I am a little surprised at us picking a CB first with so much talent still on the board. Having said that though, they have a lot more info on these guys than I do. If they think Humphries was the BPA then, I can't wait to see him on the field breaking up passes and returning a few.
This just makes rounds 2 and 3 even more interesting. We will have a scary secondary so I hope teams don't run it down our throats now. We also won;t be putting up many points if there's still 3 gaping holes on our O-Line PLUS, only having Suggs, Judon and Smith to rush the passer, we better have a great secondary.
Won't know for sure how this pans out until these guys start playing anyway.

  8. The draft room is going to be hectic and fast paced, just the kind of thing DeCosta likes. I really don't care "Who" we get because I know we'll get at least one stud of a player, regardless of position. Everyone else will be a, wait and see as usual.
I'm actually looking forward to what guys like Moore, Kaufusi, Young, Nembot and of course, Perriman will do after a year in our system and more opportunity to play.

  9. Our WR core right now is, Moore, Wallace and Perriman who I believe are great or going to be great players for us but we also have Kenny Bell, Vince Mayle, Chris Matthews and don't forget Keenan Reynolds. I realize half of these guys are unproven but we did pick them up for a reason and it's time to throw them into the fire in training camp. I don't put all of our WR woes on just the WR's. We know Joe hasn't been the greatest at eluding pressure then making great passes and dump offs are his forte plus, 1st year guys (whether they're rookies or just their fist year on our team) aren't going to always run the right routes etc. We upgrade our O line and I believe these guys will do even better this year.

right? especially Flacco working hard this of year

Ya, Joe has taken a beating on his worth as of late (and rightfully so) so, it's good to see him out there with everyone.
I'm hoping he's a man on a mission because the heat will be on him again and once we get him some more weapons, the heat cranks up exponentially.
I believe Joe will be on top of his game this year.
