OMG, figures! Snake bitten is a good word to use Surfdude, holy cow! Soon, we're not going to be able to get 11 on the field. I have an old nacho stained jersey and a TON of heart and passion for the game and would be willing to step in now that the bar has to be lowered enough to let even me try out. At least when they carted me off the field, everyone would be saying how much my heart and determination will be missed, even if it was for just one or two plays. :-) That's it! Maybe they should do a "Fan day" tryout just to fill out the roster on game days. Sure would send a message to the other players and couldn't be much worse and we'd work cheap too! :-)

Maybe now, the Perriman fiasco is starting to make more sense. 1st WR picked by the Ravens in a long time and we just don't want to ruin him in his first year out when we're going to need him next year. If we put him with another top quality 1st rounder next year, we have a good base to build off off. Now in hindsight, him coming out on the field to warm up and then have another knee tweak could have just been hype to get the media off their backs.

Get comfortable? It's football. you run, throw and catch. I don't see how you need to practice that when you've been doing it since you were 2. How many games have I played in a back lot with people I've never met before? Seems like they can catch, run a fly route and the QB knows when and where to throw it. How come professional guys with months to practice together and 20 years of experience playing this game, can't get it together. They should be able to connect on day one! I absolutely hate it when it's said "the team needs time to gel together". The team needs to earn their paychecks is what they need to do. Gelling is for shoe inserts. No one is mentioning it but, Joe has taken a couple steps back. He may be better than any other QB we've had but that's not a great list to be the head of. He just doesn't seem to have that football presence an Elite QB needs to be sucessfull. Bad decisions, not seeing wide open receivers and half of his passes are not on point, especially anything under 10yds! Our O line is giving him 3 seconds or more to throw and I know I've see receivers open a lot, in every game we've played so far. No, they're not running around in the endzone, waving their arms for minutes but you're not going to get close to that kind of open in the NFL unless someone falls down! I'm not saying it's ALL his fault but if he was even in the discussion of Elite, he could have had 2 more TD's last night. Our defense used to bail us out in games for quite a while. It's time for our Offense to do that now. With a crappy defense, we need 40pts a game. It's either that or get better players!

Ya, more than once, I saw our 2ndary look confused. Folks didn't know where to line up! It looks like everyone has been playing Madden all off season then, were told they had to put on pads and play for real! With all 4 of our allotted losses already done, the only way to make the playoffs is to run the table and there's no way in Hades that's happening. I think now is the time for Ozzie to stop giving away draft pics for discarded players this year. There is no one we can bring in that will fix our issues so the next 10 games should be resume games for the players we have on the roster as well as our PS squad. Let's see who wants to play and who CAN play, keep those 3 guys and rebuild the rest of the team. (Everyone under 30 with no prior surgeries, prosthetics or having been cut from a bottom dweller team please!!!)

Bad play usually leads to more injuries. Bargain picks the last couple years also make you ride the razors edge. Our Coaching staff has to be in question at this point but I really believe the problem is with just about everyone, across the board. There aren't many in this organization that shouldn't shoulder at least some blame for this mess. Really makes me wish we just did the "rebuild" thing after our SB. All in all though, as fans, we've had it good for a pretty long time so I'm not hating on our team. Sure would like to see some valuable rebuilding going on from here on out though. It will be interesting to see Harbaugh try to dig the team out of the fiery depths.

I totally Agree with you! They'll stack the box and blitz often if they've watched tape on us so far. It's time for Brown and someone else to step up in the receiving corps and Joe needs to have a little more poise in the pocket. With Monroe and Givens slated to start, that will help some.

This would probably be the best game to start most of our young guys. We play Cleveland in our house so I say, plug a few no names in there and see what they can do. If nothing else, it's game experience for them and it gives SSS, Yanda and some of the older guys a chance to rest. We can't afford to lose against these guys but we have Joe, Forsett, Taliaferro, Aiken and of course Tucker to score points. We also have the 12th man going for us so be loud and proud Sunday!

In the Pitt game, Joe had 3 seconds or more, of no pressure whatsoever on MOST of his pass plays. (I went back and checked). QB's aren't going to consistently get much more than that. We need clean routes and accurate passes at the cut. Forsett would also have a lot more yards if our guys would stay on their blocks until the whistle. (See SSS) All these things are fixable but will they? That is the question.

I think everyone is trying to be a star and forgetting the basic fundamentals. I'm seeing some lazy route running at times and guys getting off their blocks before the whistle. The reason why guys like Ray Lewis, SSS and JJ watt are successful are because they have talent of course, but more than that, they have a real "Passion" for the game. That's where greatness comes from and if we expect to go very far this year or any other year, we need more guys with that passion than not, plain and simple! SSS can't do it all himself. We have plenty of talent I think but we're lacking that passion across the board. Sometimes, it takes being at the bottom of the heap, to get you to dig, up. I do like the "Zombie" reference but like someone else mentioned, after just one lucky game, we're not there yet.

Calf "Strain" really? When did these types of injuries start to cause guys to miss time? It used to take something being broken or torn! I don't know. I think this year MAY be an OK year, if we're a little lucky but what I'm seeing is a bunch of resume's playing on the field for next year. I'm glad Monroe is back because Hurst just isn't there yet but he's not a long term solution either. If it were me, everyone that's healthy would be on the field, every game. We may have had a few mistakes and a little bad luck the last couple seasons and it's showing now and if we want to right this ship, we need to clean house and get our team a little younger. No more "Castoffs" from other teams or drafting "bargain" guys that had open heart surgery or prosthetic legs installed in their senior year. We need to clear the dead cap situation (Although we'll probably create even more at the end of the year), clean up our coaching staff and get another prototype Ray Lewis, J.O or Ed Reed, in one of these drafts. It will be interesting to see how we fair for the rest of the year. Our team has a lot of heart and although that's probably not enough to make the playoffs, I'm sure they'll keep us in the mix until the last regular season game or so. All I can say now is...expect the worst and hope for the best! GO RAVENS!

Man, more bad news. On the bright side, the last sentence in this article at least made me giggle a little :-) And yes, there IS a Santa Clause!

Ya well, 2015 is probably going to be a bigger struggle than last year was but our games will always be like attending a Catholic mass, In your seat, out of your seat, in your seat, out of your seat, Hallelujah! It's exhausting!

Wow, bad stroke of luck there Camp! "Reed20Fence" made a good point about him being an "all out" kind of guy and that has probably contributed to his injury bug. Hate to see it, he had an awesome career ahead of him but now I just don't think it's going to happen. Time to hit up the PS. Givins may be a good pickup, we'll have to see but he's 3" taller than Camp and I haven't heard that he has a lingering knee thing or a concussion issue so it's a start in the right direction I guess.

Most folks argument is that our WR's weren't getting open and I beg to differ. Look at the game again. They were getting open a lot but Joe wasn't getting the ball to them right after the cut. He hesitates too long. Before you neg, look at the game again. With the exception of a few good blitzes from Pitt, he had plenty of time to hit his receivers. I counted 3 seconds or more on almost every pass play and that should be good enough. Also look at our past 3 games and you'll see the same thing. Joe only starts running for his life after 4 seconds or more and it's almost always after a missed opportunity. Of course, it's not all on Joe, it's a team game but he has got to be on the list of guys that need to step up more. Having said that, the INT on the pass to SSS was more on SSS than Joe. He had a lazy cut on his route and ran right to the defender. It was a no brainer to drop his man and go with SSS, especially since he was coming right at him. Now, if Joe would have hit him at the cut, it would have gone for quite a few yards. Receivers aren't going to get many opportunities to have a 10yd separation so you have to hit them at the cut, not 2 seconds after they cut (Unless the defender falls down or gets turned around). It gives the defender time to adjust. It's probably just a matter of Joe not wanting to throw an IT and not trusting his receivers. Oh and for the Playoff record and games won, if you can't hang all of this on Joe, you can't also say HE won all those games himself. Remember, we had a heck of a defense that scored as many points as our Offense did at times. Just sayin....

A good point another poster made, Steve Smith was blocking 10-20yds down field on running plays. I never see our guys block effectively down field more than 5yds, then they kinda give up, I guess thinking the play is over. Man, we need more moxy like that! You stay with your man until the whistle sounds! If they would have done that consistently, Forsett would have had a lot more yards. This is football 101 and the reason I get ticked off when I watch our games sometimes. Fundamentals. I did see more determination but it's still not where we need to be. It's going to be a rough season but if we can pull out a couple more wins like last night, we may have the confidence to make a run at some point. I'm not buying my playoff tickets just yet but there's always hope with our team cause you just never know who you're going to get one week to the next but again, that's Ravens Football. I rarely have much of a voice left after games like this! It's also possible that a Ravens game may be the last thing I see in this world as I have a stroke! :-)

This was a big shot in the arm for our team. You could see it in their faces. This could propel us into more confident playing. (I hope) As far as Joe being "Elite", just stop it, it isn't funny any more! Joe isn't Elite, he's serviceable. I've heard that our receivers aren't getting open then I see joe throw it into double coverage then see the replay and 2 other guys had about 8' of space once they made their cuts. THAT"S wide OPEN in the NFL! If you consistently dare to throw it to a covered receiver that has a DB on his back, why can't you hit a man at his cut. A WR can't stay open all night, there's a moment where you have to hit your man in stride, at the cut and I haven't seen that all year. I'm not hating on Joe, I just think too many give him props where it's a little unrealistic. Elite isn't throwing it out of bounds when you're trying to run time off the clock. Elits isn't snapping the ball against the Raiders with 15 seconds on the play clock, when you're trying to run the clock out. Last night, the 1st IT, I'll give him that one, that was just a really cool defensive scheme. The fumble on the other hand, Come on Man! That's one you throw away. Now, our D was definitely on point. You could tell there was pride on the line and it looked like everyone was determined to work together. A great feeling to go into this short break before playing Cleveland here. I am so nervous about this next game though! We CAN"T lose to the Brownies! Talk about pride!

Not surprised. Another waste of money and YES, Perriman is a bust! You go out on a limb to get a 1st rounder and he never see's the field, that's a bust. Injury or not, he's not on the field and can't produce, that's a bust. Next year is next year. I also agree with another poster about Canty. I would guess he's thinking it's a good time in his career to relax and get a paycheck then go home. For me, it's not that we're losing, it's HOW we're going about it. We've shot ourselves in the foot too many times over the last couple seasons and it is going to haunt us in dead money for years! Just think who will be on our team next year with Yanda getting up there in age as well as a few others and it's a bit sad to think who will be left. I think the thing that ticks me off the most about all of this is, every other team that is doing well, can attribute at least some of it to us and who they stole from us in coaches. We train them and they drain them! Well we fixed that and the joke is on them this year! We don't have anyone, anyone wants! HA!

Ya, I'm starting to get a bit perturbed that not only is Perriman not playing but Harbs has these ridiculous answers to it all. Harbs seems to have this "Us against them" mentality and "Them", are Ravens fans. Since we pay all of their salaries, I believe we should be treated a little better than 2 yr olds wanting a cookie before dinner. Now, we bring in Babin and Mums the word on him too??? You're not going to garner a lot of support with that attitude towards the fan base. You live by the sword.......

There's no predicting how the rest of the season goes but based on our last 3 games, this season is going to be very frustrating. The Perriman thing is similar to the Kindle fiasco but BR.com seems to think that drawing cute super hero cartoons of him, will help us win games. Babin on the sideline doesn't make much sense either, Isn't this guy a veteran? Is HE hurt too or did we just get him in here to boost jersey sales?? Ozzie and company are up to something, I just can't figure out what it is. We had several, self inflicted issues last season by picking up so many players coming off injuries. This season, Joe seems to have taken a couple steps backward and we STILL don't have anyone who can catch the ball past 10yds and especially don't have anyone who can cover anyone past 10yds. The excuse now is, poor technique, REALLY? These guys need to be taught something that they've been doing for decades and at the very least, had a couple months to work it out in training camp and pre season? How long does it take for a top paid player to figure out how to play football? It's either poor drafting or poor coaching. Either way, it's not getting fixed this year. I just hope we can beat Cleveland and don't go 0-16. It's possible. There's no team on our schedule that we can say, "that's a win", even with the lowly Browns. I say it's a lack of talent and that can't be fixed without replacing some guys. I don;t want to see any new players this year (With the exception of Perriman when he finally gets over his lingering knee issue). Play the guys we have, stick to your guns and beat that horse till it drops. We're probably not going to win the SB this year but I sure want to see more heart and determination from our players, regardless of what the score is. As far as Joe "Opening it up", that's a bit scary to see every time he lobs a jump ball. I think I'd be happier with a bunch of 6-9yd (accurate) pass plays. Our O line breaks down too often and Joe is getting happy feet again. Ahhh, feels bad being a basement dweller. I miss picking on my Squeelers buddies.

It's funny, if "I" were playing for the Ravens, I don't believe I would need anyone to lift my spirits in order to play this game. If you love it, play like you mean it. If you're in it for the paycheck, go to the NBA, I don;t want you. We don't NEED a ray Lewis in the locker room, we just need players who want to play. If you REALLY want to play, (or keep your job as a coach) you work tirelessly to hone your craft. You move salt shakers around during dinner, figuring out plays and schemes that will best use the talent you have to beat the next team coming up. You watch every calorie and carb you eat, get your rest and eat your veggies and wake up every day to start your workout routine. Game film is the only thing that's on your TV or cell phone from training camp through the playoffs and you analyze the man that's going to be in front of you next week and figure out how to exploit his weaknesses and if he has none, you better plug in more workouts and game tape. Anything short of that is NOT playing like a Raven and is a slap in the face to the rest of your team and to your fans. Know your job and do it like you mean it and I've got no problem with you. Coaches and players alike....If you think you're a star or something special and don;t need to put in the work, you can go to NE.

Too Funny @20306cab! I know exactly how you feel! Been doing similar things myself. Gonna watch this one in West Virginia with some friends. Tough to do on a short week when I have to work on Friday so it would be nice if our team would take that into consideration and maybe study a little and maybe put a couple extra reps in the weight room or something. It would sure be appreciated!

I don't believe there's a "fix" in play, I just think that not all the refs are on the same page. The flags had an impact but that's not what lost us the game. This wasn't decided by the refs, it was decided by the poor study, poor play and poor coaching. The flags were a result of those 3 things. We better right this ship asap and I don't want to see any more additions to our roster, play who we have and beat that horse till it drops. Shake that roster tree and see who falls out. When the players and coaches get tired of losing, maybe they'll get back to playing like Ravens.

Just wondering who this CB named "Soul" is and I sure hope he's better than who we have now!

Yep, this loss comes from all 3 phases of our game. Joe is NOT elite so that discussion is over and our 2ndary is atrocious! What happened to the cohesive O line? That was supposed to be our strongest unit (It appears that is IS but, that's not saying much!). We've been spoiled over the last few seasons. I say it's probably a time where we will get kicked around a bit. My suspicion is, our coaching staff has been decimated almost every year and it is showing. We were in the wrong defense a lot of times and it still looks like there's guys who still don't know the playbook. It's going to be a rough year but one we'll all sit through of course. )
