  1. I was one of the ones who figured that a high draft pick was in order this year but the "Play like a Raven" does mean something and even if we lost out, they keep playing lights out like they did Monday night, it will go a long way for future Ravens teams. Pretty cool actually.
  2. Happy it worked out. Would have been pretty upset, had they not made it though.
  3. We're shaping up nicely. The cream is starting to rise to the top with some of these guys. We'll have a young and talented roster next season that could propel us back into playoff contenders for years to come. The confidence is building. GO RAVENS!
  4. Good for him! It gives the boy a chance, even though it was against the Browns. The guy has some speed, that's for sure. When he hit the sideline then hit the burners, he just pulled away. Hope he can continue to run like that!
  5. They probably just gave up! :-)
  6. Yep, kicking the tires on everyone at this point! Man, just think what it must feel like to be on THIS team and get cut now. The bar has been definitely lowered. If you can't make it here this year, you may want to rethink you career choices :-)
  7. Ya, I would have more than likely put Renner in as the 3rd guy and save a few bucks but because they tend to keep him on the PS, I'm guessing he's not grasping the reads quite yet. With out O line being what it is now, there's a chance we might see the 3rd guy in there before this is all over. I just don't know what Clausen would have in that situation over Renner. Seems like Bryn has more up side.
  8. That would be my guess as well. Probably won't need a #1 backup because Joe will be fine and seeing Shaub in action for a few games and then kicking the tires on Renner for a couple would make sense but it appears that they're not too sold on Renner right now.
  9. If you think about it, Shaub probably has more time with the guys that are on the field right now than Flacco did, considering Matt is the "practice" guy and all of our veterans are hurt.
  10. I also imagine that the rest of the players on our team would be a bit worried from here on out. Seems like the injury bug is going around and no one is safe.
  11. I'd say "Decimated" is a good word to use at this point.
  12. Holey, Moley! Time to play the movie "The Replacements". The game was blacked out for us in PA. Found out at 1:00. Had to listen to it on the radio. Lost Flacco and Forsett for the season too? Just a really bad Sunday all around!
  13. Ha, that scene from Gladiator was awesome and I can picture all the Ravens players in that huddle. Standing there with spear or shield in hand, dropping one by one from Lions and bears until it's just Joe and Harbaugh standing in the middle. Joe turns to John and with a Spock like demeanor and lift of an eyebrow, he says, "I don't think we're going to make it Captain"! "Nonsense! It's just a scratch!" Replies John. We can still run the table and we only need 3 yards for a first down so, HEAVE IT 70Yds and let's get outta here!!"
  14. That was funny right there!
  15. Just the title of this made me chuckle. "New look Passing game". Like it was something we wanted to kick the tires on. :-)
  16. Good luck dude! I'm pulling for ya!
  17. Jacksonville has a great run stopping defense. It made sense to be pass heavy early on to not only try to get some points on the board quickly at home but to also soften up the defense for the play action. Not Trestman's fault there. We have one (sort of) WR in Aiken and 3 rookie TE's that just started shaving so what did you think our passing game was going to look like? You gotta do what you gotta do and I saw no problem with the game plan.
  18. All just warm bodies to keep 11 on the field for the rest of the season and a bunch of resume's for next year. When it comes to picking up "Bottom of the barrel" players, there is always a chance that one or two of these guys might have reached rock bottom and have to make up their mind to go "All IN" or pack up their dream of playing in the NFL. We could end up with a guy who has a chip on his shoulder and something to prove and all he needed was his phone to not ring while he sits on the couch for a couple months then get that wake up call. Can't hurt and it doesn't cost us anything to kick the tires on any of them. It's a great time for a rebuilding year and we may be able to get some of it done now, before the draft. Now, if we could just pick up a couple coaches too, we'd really be in good shape!
  19. Well, I guess we'll see if he'll suit up next year. A whole off season then training camp and pre season of practice should be good enough for him to break out next year. Draft another #1 WR with out 1st pick and have insurance just in case.
  20. No problem with "what" they played, just how they played it.
  21. 5-11 baru643? That's being pretty optimistic. If we can't beat Jacksonville, who's left on our schedule that we could pull out a win against? Nope, time to develop the young guys and start filling our 2016 roster. The way to do that is to continue to try to win games. Use this time to make your playbook, a little more complicated. Teach our Offensive guys about defending a pass that you can't get to but the other guy just might. Teach a few of them that "Tackling" entails actually wrapping a man up, not just trying to hit him with your shoulder as he runs by. You might also want to remind the defense that giving up a bunch of first downs in a drive is the same as letting them get over the top of you for a score only, it takes more time off the clock. We're not getting IT's because our guys aren't confident (or talented) enough to jump a route. It's all they can do to keep their man in the same zip code. Anyway, No one likes to lose but, it will be nice to pick higher in the draft.
  22. Another disappointing loss! Saw some positives but, positives for next year. Everyone, including the coaches, are getting game time together and we'll be better for it next season. A bit rough to sit through right now though, when the jags beat you in your own house.
  23. Would be great to have him back but I don't think they'll throw him in there just yet. He needs another week or two to get back into playing shape.
  24. Would be nice to have him on the field but I hope he can avoid any further injury. There's a "bug" going around!
  25. Not going to happen. We parted ways with him and for good reason. Nothing has changed with their reasoning and he has another unproductive year under his belt. His roster spot would keep a younger, more sure handed guy off the roster and that's not the direction we need to go. I love Jacoby! I even suffered through DWTS with the wife just because he was on it but that won't win us football games. Jacoby kind of went the same route as Ed Reed and I think it's working out the same for him. Don't be sad though, he made a ton of money, he's good! :-)
