  1. Hey Suggs, when you get done watching the movie, stop by the locker room and give your brothers in arms a little love too. They could use some uplifting words from you I bet.
  2. Opportunities galore! Let's see who makes the most of them. Going to be interesting to see the next few games. Don't hold out much hope for any more wins but we'll get a chance to see one or two of our young guys get some important live reps.
  3. Dumb move IMHO! Cut a guy who hasn't gotten a chance ("We're going to give the young guys a chance and pull the trigger")in Bryn Renner and sign a guy who has shown he's a lateral move from Shaub at best and we already know Shaub won't be here next year so why? Mallet has already "Had some personal things he had to work through" and didn't sign right away. I guess he was fielding better offers? SMH
  4. What the heck, They CUT RENNER to sign Mallett? Holy cow! Renner has the physical abilities so I'm assuming they're saying he's just an idiot? I can't fathom why we didn't or wouldn't see him out there, even for a few plays till the end of the year but they would throw Mallet out there who we kinda already know would be a lateral move from Shaub at best. I'm also not happy with signing Rolle. 6 teams in 3 years???? Sounds like a bust to me if 5 other teams said he wasn't good enough for their practice squad but I guess he's good enough to be a starting CB on ours? I don't see the logic there when you're trying to find young talent and you keep putting guys out there that have already had 5 or 6 chances to "Step up" and didn't. I guess it all comes back to me being ticked off that Bryn hasn't gotten a chance at the spotlight but a bunch of confirmed losers will. I must be missing something.
  5. Oh ya, where the heck is Renner and why hasn't he been in the discussion? I want to see him out there too!
  6. Been saying they should do this for the past 4 games. Better late than never but in all reality, it isn't really a decision Harbs had to make because everyone is on IR so he really has no choice than to start the young guys, they're all that's left but nice spin Harbs! :-)
  7. Somehow, this is not all that surprising news. We are so screwed. I only hope we don't look too foolish the rest of the way. We already don't get any love.
  8. I WISH I could watch the game. Looks like another game that I find out is blacked out here in PA, 4 seconds before kickoff! This is ridiculous. Armstrong Cable and FOX have just lost a customer. I can't afford to attend all the games and I'm not interested in any other team but the Ravens so spending hundreds of dollars on a football package is just not cost effective so it looks like I don't get to spend my Sundays rooting for my team any more. 3 decades of loyalty, down the drain. The all might dollar prevails again! SMH
  9. Whoever is playing QB tomorrow had better eat his Wheaties. Actually, all 3 of our QB's better wear extra padding because I can see them dropping like flies with only 2 guys on our O line worth a darn. Gonna be a long road to haul to be a QB for the Ravens for the rest of the year!
  10. I'm not so sure our "5 wide" would scare anyone into deep double coverage :-)
  11. Time to find out what Renner can do! I don't think Clausen is the answer. No sense in playing Shaub any more because he gives up more points than he scores and we all know he doesn't have a future on this team next year so at this point, he's wasted space and finding out what Renner can do this early in his career against a good team would be invaluable I think. It would be better if he had someone to block for him but nothing like a little trial by fire huh? :-)
  12. Who knows, any given Sunday right? No matter how much I believe we're going to get our butts kicked, I'll watch every minute like we're going to pull it out somehow until it's obvious that we can't. (and even then, I can't bear not to watch it to the end, regardless) I do think it's going to get ugly up in there but, it ain't over till it's over.
  13. The defense, no matter how good, is not going to be able to pressure Seattle as much and as long as they'd like to think. If our offense doesn't sustain some drives, our D will be gassed by the end of the 1st qtr. Just hope we're able to run the ball on these guys and that would take a lot of pressure off.
  14. Renner!...Renner!....Renner!
  15. Sounds like the boy has some skills. Let's see if our coaches and play calling can get the best out of him.
  16. I'm with you on all accounts Commish! On an almost unrelated topic, where's SUGGS??? I know he's out for the season but shouldn't he be on the sidelines with his team or has he packed it up? Just curious.
  17. I don't know what the deal is with Renner but I sure want to see him get a shot. What little I've seen of him looked pretty good, under the circumstances. The boy has a rocket arm, now let's see his decision making skills. I don't think he would give us any better or worse chance at winning or losing against Seattle and he's a bit younger to take all the punishment whoever is under center is going to get. Clausen should get a shot too if only because of the enthusiasm on his face when he thought he was going in last week and then the look of disappointment on his face when Shaub whent back out. You can see he has some passion and that's worth a look in my book.
  18. Parity is the key and the NFL has done quite a bit over the years to allow each team to have a shot each season. I think they've done a pretty good job at that until it appeared they started involving the refs to "assure" parity, if things aren't going their way. IDK, I guess we have to come up with another formula when it comes to scheme, coaching and players. In order to have a dominant defense, we'd have to take a hit on offense and visa versa. Not enough picks and money to go around. If you try to do both, you end up with neither side of the ball being that good. We have to find those guys (Like we have in the past) that are diamonds in the rough and that calls for our scouts, trainers and coaches. Seems as soon as we get some great coaches in here, someone steals them and they take a few of our good players with them. THAT's what I think has held us back the past couple years, more than busts on draft picks. We have to find a way to keep our good coaches here. JMO
  19. Ya, our D is playing better because the last few teams we've played have been basement dwellers like us :-) I'm sure these guys are improving but media facts are always misleading.
  20. Picking 1st in the draft would be nice but we aren't filling all these holes in one draft, even if we did pick 1st. I know our FO will do their best to put a winning team on the field next season but it will have to be with a lot of cast offs. Everyone is hurt and there's always a concern that they'll never be 100% again. We don't really have a great track record of happy returns and if they're not hurt, then it's more than likely a player we picked up that's on their 8th or 9th team. All I can say is, I sure hope our scouting team has been hitting the pavement instead of Madden this year!
  21. Good luck Joe, we're all pulling for a speedy recovery!
  22. Of course! No tight ends now, great! Hey D. Brown, wanna be a TE? Did the Ravens organization tick someone off or what? Seems like we're being punished for something.
  23. Ya, it's hard to believe that the officiating crew has taken several steps backward this year but that PI call was BS and had me jumping and screaming. We all know there are bad calls and you just live with them because most of them are close one way or the other and our passions may sway us one way or the other however, they could have waived off the flag because it was brought to their attention BEFORE the next play on the huge 200' screen they have but they kept their hands in their pockets. If this continues to happen, they are going to lose a lot of fans really quick. One thing we won't stand for is a "Fix" and it is sure starting to smell that way to me!
