  1. Did you read the article? None of the rookies complained about the padded practice. Ben Watson, a vet going into his 13th year, who also happens to be a union rep informed the coaches that pads during rookie practice was illegal. What was the point of your post? I never said it was a rookie and how does that effect what my point was any way. Ravenous_Ravens had a much better response to my post that actually offers another opinion about the subject. That kind of reply, I can respect. Your post seems to be just to hear yourself talk. Thanks anyway but try harder next time.
  2. There are a couple things wrong with the CBA infraction on pads. First, our coaches should know the CBA hands down. This is a class A organization and we should always act like it. Second, someone on the team ratted out the coaches to the official? Someone isn't being a team player. I know it's against the rules and all but you should probably say something to one of the coaches before you tell an official AND, If you did and they didn't listen, that's another story. However, it was 5 minutes of non contact. What kind of player complains about that? Not one I would have on my team! Sounds like someone is feeling over privileged already. I can tell you that if the Ravens don't put the class act on the field that we expect, they'll lose viewership. America is getting tired of all the bull.
  3. Cutting commercial breaks is not going to happen! As a matter of fact, it probably will introduce even more commercials. TV is so saturated by them now that it's hard to remember what you were watching by the time they come back from break so most shows will show you the last 2 minutes of what you were watching when they come back, to remind you. Everything is about the almighty dollar.
  4. Colts have Vontae Davis and who? Arizona has no idea who they're going to replace Powers with, except maybe Tyrann, but he's pretty committed to playing safety. its not that hard to look up peoples' depth charts. Didn't make anything up, just my opinion which I stated clearly. Also, would a team let a player go (Not traded) if he was better than the guys they have? Just makes sense to me, not a fact, just makes sense to me. Powers is no longer on other teams depth charts so that's a moot point.
  5. Good for him. Any good guys that can also play great football should have a chance at the brass ring for sure. I'm glad he's getting his chance here.
  6. Always good to have competition and depth at any position and Powers seems like a solid guy however, it depends on for how much. Both Arizona and the colts have a better CB now that he's gone I would imagine, otherwise he would still be there so I'm not thinking he's any more than depth at this point. Also, can we get a CB over 6' for gosh sakes??
  7. The guy has a mean streak and that's what we look for in an Offensive or Defensive line guy, among other things. Another thing, Alcohol isn't illegal, Marijuana is. I personally believe it's backwards there but none the less, it is what it is. If he's sincere about his statements, I believe the Ravens clubhouse is the best place for a guy like that. The "Family" will take into the fold and lead him into this next phase of his life. Take advantage young man, you have a once in a lifetime opportunity here that stemmed from your whole body of work and not just one incident. You've earned your right to be here now, earn the respect of the coaches and your team mates and follow their lead. You're in great hands!
  8. If nothing else, over the years, I've learned not to get too excited about ANY players until we actually see them on the field. With the 11 guys, I see 3 making the final team roster and maybe 2 more on the PS.
  9. Ya, you're right @Greek. We should just pass on ALL defensive players because Pees doesn't know what he's doing. Since Pees has the job of being our DC, I'll go with him knowing what he's doing. On a positive note, think how great it would be to have him on our roster come training camp because he sounds like we could use him all over the field at some point. A 6'7 TE sounds interesting and that would make him an offensive player. Aww, probably not, Tresman probably doesn't know how to use his players either. Darn! Maybe Harbaugh could do something with him on special teams. :-)
  10. Too Funny John! Show em your swaggah!
  11. If we're not going to be in it, I'd like someone in our division to do so. In that case, I'd root for Cinci because we've seen them grow over the past few years and I knew they were going to be a problem before long. Ya, they have choked in the playoffs in the past but They've gotten closer every year and I think this year could be their time. As far as NE goes, I hope they get their buts kicked badly and Lady Brady has a meltdown on the field! I'd like their reign of terror to end!
  12. Now, I'm not one of the folks calling for Mallett to start over Joe next year at this point however, it is not "Foolishness" to think that the Ravens are going to put the best man available on the field. The reason for the urgency at getting Mallet some live action is not only to see if he can back up Joe but to also evaluate which QB on our roster now, gives us the best chance at winning, moving forward. Emotions take a back seat to money in this game and if Joe stinks up the joint, starting next season and we remember how well Mallet did (If he finishes well) then the masses will be calling for Joe's head and it will take less time than it did to post this. You can pretend that you'll stick with Joe no matter what but several have already jumped on and off that bandwagon several times, just this year alone. It's a contract year for Joe and we're trying out QB's like there's no tomorrow! Not so foolish to think the Ravens are running a business.
  13. Thanks Steve! Play and retire like a Raven!
  14. Trestman has done an admirable job considering the circumstances this season. He most definitely deserves another shot. If we had all of our starters for most of the year, we'd be in the playoffs I think. Just think if we add all the yards SSS or Forsett would have had, a couple more critical sacks from the Doom and Sizzle tandem that hasn't been there and even having a healthy Perriman running for the goal line every down would have relieved some pressure if nothing else. I think it would be safe to say we'd have a couple more in the Win category. I am pretty proud of how Harbaugh not only kept this team together in a losing season we're not used to but actually excelled in many areas that we'll surely benefit from next season and "Boy oh Boy" is that going to feel good!
  15. Mallett did a good job. Not great but he did good. However, for his first game out, he did excellent and looks to get better with more reps. Joe better watch his back! All that keeps ringing in my ears is that we're told it takes time to build chemistry with your receivers when Joe is throwing the ball and that wasn't even mentioned once last night with Mallett behind center. Looks to me like it takes about 10 days to get with your receivers. Hmmmm..... This off season will be interesting!
  16. No billboard material here :-)
  17. Winning this game was on my Christmas list to Santa! If we only won 2 games this season, let it be against the Squeelers and I'll consider it a modest success! Now, I'll think of it as a modern miracle! Gonna be rough watching this one I think but maybe we can find a way! GO RAVENS!
  18. Any given Sunday folks! Our guys will be pumped up for this game and a lot of the young guys are just starting to feel the heat of this rivalry. Pees and Testerman aren't going to just lay down for the Squeelers and neither will our players. Can't say we have enough tools to actually win this game but as long as our guys play with heart and the play calling is realistic, I'll be happy at the end, regardless of the score. Of course, seeing as though our season has been a total bust, it would be nice to at least beat the Squeelers twice, AND, with a backup QB! THAT, would be something to hang our hats on and I thing the rest of the team feels the same way so in that regard, Any given Sunday! Let's go Ravens! Oh, and you guys going to the game, stay in your seats please till the end of the game. It's a little embarrassing to see half the stadium empty and if that happens, the yellow towels will permeate the building and that just makes me sick! You can't hold our team accountable if you can't even support your team. Our players feed off our energy so let's be the 12th man out there! It's probably going to be a close one (I hope) and our support only makes things easier for the team!
  19. I was wondering what was taking so long. Hate to see it for the guy. I hope he's OK and can give it another shot next season. He hasn't had the chance of a full evaluation yet due to injuries and a loaded TE group. He needs to be on the field and now that he's on IR, he has a shorter window to prove he's worthy.
  20. Kind of surprised really. Thought for sure they'd say he was done for the season! It looked like he pulled something as he had a limp in his step when he was running but he kept going so it's probably not too bad. A couple aspirin and a heating pad and he'll be right as rain I guess. Hope it's not that foot though!
  21. We were hanging with KC early on but the Jernigan "mistake" opened pandoras box. I was really impressed that we were actually out moving KC in the 1st qtr but then things went wrong. That's the most frustrating part that we can look so good at times and so bad at others. The good news is that if Harbaugh can get this kind of play out of a very young and very old roster, says something in itself. The next couple seasons are going to be very interesting.
  22. I don't think so. They'll move Web over and he'll do well enough to keep a roster spot. We'll add to the mix in the draft but I don't think Webby is going anywhere.
  23. Everyone has learned not to give the Ravens any billboard material.
  24. How are we going to lose? Let me count the ways....... Sad but true but I'll watch anyway. Good to see who is going to "quit" and who's going to play like their careers depend on it.
