If Smith can't go against the Squealers we are in big trouble.

If he can't go in any of the last 3 games we're in trouble. The talent drop off is super noticable when opposing QBs complete 75% of their passes when he's not on the field.

it annoys me that whoever the patriots have or don't have they seem to adjust and be fine. we lose one player and the defense crumbles. doesn't make sense. almost like the coaches don't or can't adjust. it makes no sense to me

There are some comments here that the Cardinals have released Michael Floyd. If that is true, I think that the Ravens absolutely should consider giving up one of the DB's for a space for Michael if they can work out a deal. Elam, Huff, lewis-Harris all are expendable for the rest of the season.

It's not a comment that Michael Floyd was released, it's a fact. We don't need him. We have better talents. Again I believe that our problem on offense is not talent but leadership and scheme

couldn't agree more with this. we have capable receivers but we do nothing to adjust to how the defense is playing

  3. Our offense is just dreadful.  Flacco has not been good all year.  Today, as bad as the steelers were, it should have been 42-14.  Still can't get into the endzone.  We settle for a FG after picking up 6 yards after interception put us in great field position.  Flacco not accurate at all.  He was just exceptionally bad today in my opinion.  That interception is something a 9 year vet cannot make.  I'm looking at stats now and 50 rushing yards on 29 attempts.  that is bad.  4-17 on 3rd downs.  Just ugly.  I'll take the win and first place but same old crappy offense and penalties. I was optimistic the bye would show that we are not really this bad on offense, but it looks like we are. Thank goodness for special teams and defense.

oh and our defense was great but webb and weddle have to come up with those INT's!!!  I'll give Mosley somewhat of a pass on his, but come on man!!!  the ball was right in your hands!!!!! make a play!

If the Ravens can't beat the Jets, then what does that say about them being a team that can get to the playoffs? It would be the 4th consecutive loss heading into a bye week and two conference losses. After the bye they will face teams a lot better than the jets. It is definitely a must win.

Eisenberg is such a blind homer.

Not too long ago, a Ravens team went 5 straight games without scoring a TD on offense....

Not too long ago, no way a Ravens team is going to beat Tom Brady at home, then beat Peyton Manning at home and then beat the #1 defense in the league, those teams are a lot better......

I guess everyone thought the Panthers would be one of the worst teams in the league and the Vikings would be better than everyone....Long season, anything can happen.

love the optimism. wish I had it

  5. I don't really understand the question.  clearly this is the easy part of the schedule and we are playing this bad and cannot win.  so to ask if we purposely tank is crazy.  we just keep playing how we have been and you'll get your results.

    that is a joke.

we have issues and if by week 7 harbs and the team cant' fix them, then we are pretty much hosed.  what is disappointing is we don't really have any recent success in the draft save for mosley.  other than that, it is pretty sad.

back to the topic, you never purposely tank.  we need to see who we have, who to keep.  we need better scouts.  the draft is a crapshoot and it's not like we've been hitting it out of the park.  one high draft pick won't make a difference with all of the holes this team needs to fill.

I really hate that the pats are consistently good and really who do they have?  they seem to make it work somehow.  i was tempted to root for the steelers today just b/c I really don't have the optimism some fans have, and wanted to see brady lose.  however i am happy the steelers lost.

it seems like to me the ravens say they want to be this deep downfield threat, but we're not.  we'll get one deep pass per game.  but what is the point? unless that goes for a td, we can't seem to punch it in.  it's sad. there is no creativity.  i can't stand on 3rd and 6 we go for a long bomb that is not remotely close.  just get the first down.  seems like either a screen pass for a loss or a long pass that has no chance.

i want to have optimism but we've played the lower quality teams for the most part, except for the raiders and bills perhaps and we've really shown nothing.  i don't know who these ravens are and it is not fun when your team stinks.  i haven't enjoyed one single game this year.  we could easily be 0-7.

i guess it's good that our division stinks and is still up for the taking, but nothing shows that we can compete. our schedule moving forward is dreadful and i don't want to rely on what other teams do.  there's no killer instinct and that is not ravens football.

i hope i'm wrong but we have major issues on all sides of the ball

  6. so first 2 minutes were good and the last drive did show some promise but in between was awful.  It was awful against the worst defense in the league last week and awful this week against the 3 worst defense.  our offense is terrible.  something needs to change.  these games are almost unwatchable between the play calling, the drops, the bad passes.  i'd feel ripped off if I spent over $300 to watch this product at M&T stadium.

djdave, lets see how well any other QB would have done with no time in the pocket (because he never had a pocket} If you want someone to blame give that to the offensive line and Harbs or does that make to much sense ? Never take points off of the board, never underestimate a team and adjust when things are not working.

Flacco does fine and does exceptional when he has the time to wait for plays to develop.

I disagree. This is the NFL. He is a 9 yr veteren QB. Please stop with the excuses. The pass to Moore was thrown behind the WR. The one to Pitta was thrown into the grass and there was not perceptible pressure. What Flacco is as QB is far below what many players on the roster are at their respective positions. If he can raise his play we will be a formidable team. Do you realize that he played badly against both Cleveland and Jacksonville

the throw to moore was right there. he has to catch that. the one to pitta was bad. all game flacco was getting hit. he has no time to throw.
the loss goes on the lack of creativity of our offensive coordinator. where are the slants and crossing routes? why would harbs accept that penalty? it makes 0 sense? and then penalties? what is being done about this? if you hand the ball to the ref you will not get penalized. it is that simple! wallace, great 2 point conversion but we gave them 15 yards and they drove right down and got a td!

time to bench shareece and can trestman

    1

  8. 5 Takeaways...
    1) Trestman is Inept
    2) Trestman will be Responsible for Joe getting injured again, throwing 50x a game.
    3) Any other legit OC "who can actually read a game" and is not allergic to the run game, the ravens are still undefeated
    4) Ravens Defense played their backsides off. I counted atleast 4-5 3&outs and several more key stops. Aleast 4-5 empty possessions for Oakland in which The Ravens offense did 0.
    5) Joe got killed all day because Hurst&Jensson were horrible with a capital H, and multiple penalties messed up the offense, which goes back to Trestman not "Running the ball more"

    Everything points to Trestmans ineptness

i can't agree more. 4 games in and every single game our offense is just terribly inept

  9. if you hand the ball to the ref you will not get a penalty.  we gave them 15 yards right there.  i get you are pumped but for crying out loud you know these refs and how unpredictable they are.  just hand the ball to the ref.

do they get a TD w/o the penalty,  who knows.  shareece wright continues to get picked on.  he got burnt yet again.  he is a problem

  10. What in the world was harbs thinking accepting that penalty.  really all the raiders needed was anohter 5 or 6 yards and right in janikowsi's  range.  stupid.  terrible decision.  plus trestman has got to go.  no creativity.  flacco getting hit on every throw for most of the first 3 quarters. i thought we'd see mallet b/c flacco hurt.  just bad play calls.  trestman is just boring. plain vanilla.

chris moore catch the ball!!! are you kidding me?  terrible.  aiken with a dumb penalty.  just dumb.  wallace with a 15 yard penalty and the raiders march down and score.  we can't play like crap for 3 quarters and expect to win.

i hate that harbs was all  props for the team for the previous 3 wins.  the 3 wins were ugly and the team has to play better.  I cannot fathom spending $300+ for 2 tickets to watch this product.  no thanks. i'll stay at home and yell at the tv or turn on re-runs of alf for better entertainment

come on ravens.  we are better than this and it starts with the offense not producing.  later trestman.  you need to go

Totally agree with you! That's what I've been saying since the second game. He was garbage calling games already last year, but I gave him the benefit of doubt because of all the injuries. This season he's proved that he is just incompetent OC. He has no clue how to call running plays. There's a reason why the guy has had 13 gigs in past 15 years. And we are seeing that reason each and every game.

Can't agree with this any more
