  1. As a life long Raven fan who lives in South Carolina, I don't have the option of saying things like I will cancel my season tickets, or I will never pay another penny to attend a Raven game, but I do have the option of dropping Direct TV's Sunday ticket, and that is precisely what I intend to do. It is apparent to the entire football viewing world that Harbaugh is only going to hire his good buddies as coaches, and hope that they will somehow pull a rabbit out of their butt and all of a sudden become good coordinators. Anyone that watches Raven games can see the problem for what it is. The offensive line is one of the weakest in the NFL, and not only do they not pass protect, but they are unable to create holes for the RB's. Flacco has about as much leadership ability as Elmer Fudd. He does nothing to inspire his team mates, and just does not have that fire in the belly that all great Quarterbacks possess. Defensively, there is not a team in the NFL that fears playing them. If the little sisters of the poor had a football team with a QB that could deliver deliver passes, they would salivate over the chance to play against this secondary. Pass rush, what pass rush? And Harbaughs answer is to keep his buddies employed, give me a break. Good luck Raven fans, I'm done.
  2. This is not the Ray Lewis / Ed Reed defense, and unless the Ravens figure out a way to get this offense moving, they will be watching the playoffs on TV, just like the rest of us. I Can't figure out if the problem is Flacco, offensive line, or offensive coordinator, or all three. I personally believe that it is all three. With the remaining schedule they can't continue winning with Tucker field goals. Strong arm Quarterbacks shred this defense every week. Yes folks , there is trouble, right here in Charm City.
  3. While searching through Webster's Dictionary, trying to find the perfect single word to describe this years Ravens, I settled on two words. You can select any one that you like and it will be the right word. AWFUL or PATHETIC
  4. So. Just how many losses do the Ravens have now because Harbaugh passes on the field goal in order to try for a first down on 4th down? That makes two, this year alone. Why in the world do you not take the 3 points from the best kicker in the NFL when you are playing on the road in a hostile environment, with a makeshift offensive line, that would have made it a 7 point game. Honest to GOD folks , I just do not get it. Had he taken the points, that final drive would have gone a lot different if they were playing to get in field goal range as opposed to needing a TD. It is not very often when you can credit a coach with winning a game, but you sure can say when a coach loses a game because of poor decision making. I feel really bad for the players, who played their butts off only to suffer a defeat because the coach can't make good decisions. I just finished watching the Colts lose to Texas on the road because their coach Chuck Pagano ( a former Ravens assistant ) make the same decision to not take the field goal and go for it with 4th and a yard in the red zone. That decision turned out to be wrong as it allowed Texas to tie the game and win it in overtime. Pagano will be losing his job soon, and Harbaugh should as well. Harbaugh doesn't have Ray Lewis and Ed Reed around to bail him out any longer, and his poor coaching ability is showing. He is just a clone of Brian Billick, he says all the right things to the press, but he can't get his team in the win column. Injuries are not an excuse, all teams have injuries, but the better teams still find a way to win.
  5. I have read all of the comments about Trestman and I can't disagree with any of them. It is time for a reallity check. Either the Ravens have the very worst co-ordinators in the NFL, or the players just are not very good. You all can decide for yourself. As for me, I think that both apply. One thing is certain and that is that Trestman is here to stay as long as Harbaugh is calling the shots. He will always defend his hiring choices and never sees them as the problem. At least Rex Ryan had enough good sense to recognize that his job was in jeopardy and fired his offensive co-ordinator ( they havn't lost a game since then ) . You can forget about the playoffs folks, this team is done, You can roll them over and stick a fork in them. When you lose two in a row at home, how much hope is there for getting any wins on the road. Pitiful, just plain pitiful.
  6. Like all Raven Fans, I am extremely excited to come out of Cleveland with a win, but I just can not hold back on what I perceived as really bad play calling The Browns are not a top tier team in the NFL and I have to believe that there are much better ways to defeat them instead of attacking Joe Haden. He is one of the very best cornerbacks in the NFL, if not the best.. This weeks Dumb and Dumber award goes to Marc Trestman for the calls, and Joe Flacco for not looking elsewhere. There are just some players in the NFL that have the ability to wreak havoc on your game plan and Haden is one of those guys. Come on guys, you can do better.
  7. I will leave the venting and bashing to everyone else. I just want to remind the real Raven fans that this season is really a blessing in disguise. The NFL is setup differently than any other professional sport, and the entire concept is set up to provide parrity throughout the league. The draft order and the salary cap are the two steps that keep every team in contention. Teams that are consistently winners year in and year out, are not rewarded with high draft picks and are constantly drafting near the bottom of every round. If the Ravens are be a contender again, then they need to have a few losing seasons in order to rebuild the team through the draft. The teams that are the exceptions to this are the teams that are blessed with Hall of Fame quarterbacks, who can usually find a way to keep their teams in contention even with draft picks from the lower tier. The Ravens unfortuneately do not have that type of quarterback. I do not mean this as a slur on Joe Flacco, because I think that Joe is a lot better than most people give him credit for. What I am saying is this: Just relax and be patient, this is not their year, but don;t give up on them, because this season as bad as it seams is really a good thing, because we will now be drafting from the top tier, and that can make a huge difference for the future.
  8. In looking over the remaining schedule, I only see 3, maybe four teams that they have a chance to beat, but I would not be placing money on any of those games. OMG, can you envision the carnage when Palmer, Rivers, and Roethelsberger play this crew. If reality escaped you after they were 0 and 3. well maybe now you can accept the fact that this team just is not very good. The silver lining here is that we will now be in a position to rebuild with some better draft picks. I know that everyone is quick to blame the coaches. but they are only part of the problem. You can't keep filling gaps in your defense with players that were discarded by other teams, and expect to be a winner. The Ravens will not be in the playoffs this year, or even the next couple of years, but if they can draft correctly, they may make it back in four to five years.
  9. Three games does not a season make. No question that 0-3 is not what we expected, but did we expect this team to play so undisciplined with so many penalties? Did we expect this defense to be this bad? Did we expect this offense to be void of playmakers with the excetion of SSS? The answer to those questions is obviously no. It is only natural to blame the coaches when searching for reasons to these questions, considering how high the expectations were for this team, but the coaches are not on the field. We have become spoiled and complacent through the years because the Ravens have been known for their tough defenses. We have enjoyed many years of playoffs, but that has come with a price. Playoff teams draft near the bottom and that is the price you pay for being a winner. This team needs better talent, and that will only come by experiencing some losing seasons. They may in fact get better this year, only time will tell, but they certainly are not a playoff caliber team at this time. The Ravens will be back because this is a top notch organization and losing is never accepted. I will still be a fan, and watch every game, but I have certainly lowered my expectatons for this season.
  10. Am I the only person on the planet that thought making Babin inactive for that game, when we desperately needed a pass rusher was a stupendously idiotic decision. Pass rushers are not the brightest light bulbs in the closet, and they don't need to get acquainted with the system ( or lack of ), you line them up and say go get the Quarterback. Just ask Dexter Manley, who couldn't read write or even sign his name, but he was a hell of a pass rusher. Babin's career is obviously on the down side, but if they didn't think he could help, then why in the world did they sign him.
  11. I'm sure Harbaugh will make him inactive, just like he did with Babin, when we desperately needed a pass rusher.
  12. Please correct me if I'm wrong, but if the defender never turns around to play the ball, and he throws his arms up in the face of the receiver, isn't that considered face guarding and a penalty in the NFL ? It is the non calls that favor the home teams that make winning on the road so difficult. In a perefect world I would love to see Professional football officials call the game fairly, no matter where the game is being played. Had that call been made it would have been Baltimore ball on the one yard line, and first and goal. who knows what the outcome would have been, but at least it would have been called fairly.
  13. I have seen enough of Matt Schaub to come to the conclusion that there is no up side to keeping him. There is a reason that he lost his job in Texas and Oakland. He does not appear to exhibit any confidence when he is on the field, and actually looks like he is scared to be on the field of play. I see nothing but confidence in Bryn Renner, and I think that he is a much better option in the future than Schaub.
  14. Can't say anything that hasn't already been said, except that I didn't really think that we would miss Ngata, but obviously, I was wrong. Can anyone please tell me where Jernigan and Williams were last night. You could drive a mack truck through those holes in the center of the line. And Matt Schaub, are you kidding me. Renner is playing heads above Schaub.
  15. NO. He's not Alex Mack, and no, he isn't even ranked in the NFL top ten, but he will certainly be a lot better then Gradkowski. Gino might be a very nice guy, but he is not at all suited to be a starting center on a Super Bowl winning team. They could have replaced him with the flying nun, and that would be OK with me. Gradkowski spent more time on his back last year than Obama did on the golf course. At least Oz saw everything that the fans saw last year, and let Oher leave, and has now replaced Gradkowski. These two moves will undoubtedly be a God send to Yanda. Now, he only has to be responsible for his position, and not have to block three guys.
