  1. Interesting that when the Patriots win five or six games every year in their division nobody really brings up the fact how awful those teams have been for the most part over the last 10 to 15 years.

If it wasn't for the Cardinals success as of recent you could say the same thing about the Seahawks pretty much, having to face cupcake teams like the Rams and 9ers. Although this year so far, the Seahawks don't look to be much better then those two.

I support Steve B, in this he is correct. Though I would add WR to the mix aswell. Perriman, an SR both injury concerns still and Aiken a 3rd option at best.
So gotta grab someone in top 50... Doctson, Coleman, Etc

Although I agree with you, I'm not sold on the health of our WR's either, we don't necessarily need another WR. Signing Watson we have an option in him, his numbers last years showed it, lots of other teams have success with tight end play, and also we like to throw lots of screens to our running backs, which, I'm personally not a fan of, but it works in most situations. We need a CB more than anything, and it doesn't take that much to figure it out, watching teams that don't even have solid qb's throw for 400+ yards on us, case and point the browns (McCown) it very difficult to watch week in and week out. Sure our secondary improved towards the end of the year, but by then it was too late. If SSS and Perriman cant play, we have Akien, Wallace, even Brown...If Jimmy or Wright cant play, we have......?

  3. We have the Steelers number, and as long as Marvin is coaching the Bengals, they will only live up to being a good regular season team time and time again. They are nothing to fear in a playoff game. They might win the division sure, but it we catch them in a playoff game, odds are in our favor. After what they have shown, I doubt anyone would take them as a winning pick

  4. Depends on which tannehill shows up. Yall think schaub will extend his pick 6 streak? He got the win but I don't think his performance did too much for his confidence. Even his 2 tds were a result of YAC and missed tackles.

I think his streak will stop however.. I do think he will throw another pick, maybe 2. With that streak in the back of his mind, I know he will try to play it too safe, windup givin one up in the process

  5. So - I'm guessing we all saw this one coming when the season started eh?  Johnny Football vs. Matt Schaub.  Yeesh.

I could see Matt Schaub lighting it up though - the Browns offensively have had their moments and Manziel has been alright overall but the Browns defense is absolute garbage this season and couldn't stop a retirement home community football team from putting up 30+ points.  They're baaaaaaaaaaaad.

They are pretty bad, but....we are ranked 24th in pass def.....and they are ranked 26th.....I can see us getting lit up aswell. Pass happy game for sure

  6. Another faltering season, another mysterious injury for PeyPey.

When you think he will finally pack it in? Injuries are piling up for the guy past couple years, I know he is bound and determined to get another ring though, but I cant see it happening at this point.

  7. since when are int's the end-all be-all measuring stick for cb's? fun fact, darelle revis has NEVER led the league in int's, despite being the best cb in the league for over half a decade. webb has broken up some passes in impressive fashion, he has been showing his trademark ability to play the ball from awkward positions, he has been able to anticipate targets and stop the completion when pees assigns the proper zone coverage, and hes been able to stay in the wr's pocket in man coverage for the most part.

the only thing you can ask for more of from webb, is consistency, he has had hiccups, but with dean pees calling broken coverage schemes and zero pass rush EVERYONE has had hiccups. but webb has been a bright spot and a pleasant surprise in our horrid secondary, and after taking a paycut because he knew he hadnt lived up to his contract, and stepping up the way he has, he deserves some applause. jimmy smith gets a pass for his lisfranc injury, why doesnt webb get a pass for 2 torn acl's and lower back injuries for the past 2 years? jimmy is getting beat deep often, in man coverage he hasnt been able to turn his hips and run downfield, webb has, jimmy hasnt been able to break and explode into shorter routes like slants and hooks, webb has, jimmy is still playing good press when he gets the chance and he is still showing superb ball skills in the redzone against bigger guys, but he has struggled in a season where webb has been regaining his old form, interception stats will NEVER tell the whole story for cb's, especially when nobody on the team is getting them.

also, you said, verbatim, that cornerback is the weakest position on this team, also told me to read articles about it. i dont need half-informed articles written by talking heads in the media to tell me that webb and jimmy smith are getting beat deep, however you maybe need to brush up on coverage scheme concepts so you can point the finger in the right direction when the safety doesnt play the deep zone hes supposed to and leaves a wide open sideline.

At this point I feel like your picking out 1 word out of what i say and are jumping on it, so I am done. Just for giggles though if you look at what I actaully said, I said "if  YOU(that means not me) are looking at it as," and that translated to me saying INTs were everything lol

  8. no ive watched every single game this year, matter of fact i havent missed a game since 05 when i was in middle school and boller was still here. and at the beginning of the year i was all aboard the webb hate train, i was sick of seeing him get toasted everytime he came back from an injury, so no im not just some big webb fan, the fact is he is playing much better now than he was at the beginning of the season when he got toasted regularly, he has slowly began to regain some of his old form and while he isnt perfect, he is still playing solid. and if you TRULY think that a combination of jimmy smith and lardarius webb playing at 90% is a bigger liability than kendrick lewis starting at FS in a dean pees defense, then you are severely misguided. youre the type of person who blames a cb for "getting beat deep" in a cover 2 arent you?

I didnt once suggest Leiws over anyone, in fact if you look at my first post, when i said "lesser of two evils," that means, they both are playing horrible, but one is playing less horrible than the other. We are 24th in passing defence, the secondary is bad as a whole. All im saying is, 1 good game with a pick doesnt and shouldnt be classified as a solid performance by him so far this year. If you are looking at it as he has 1 of our amazing 4 INT's this year then yeah thats sweet, but overall no, he needs to step up, along with everyone else

  9. absolutely untrue. many cb's have switched to safety late in their careers, especially those with lower extremity injuries, it allows them to contribute at a high level while also preserving their knees and ankles at older ages.

also, webb has the skillset to play FS, jimmy not so much, and FS just happens to be a much weaker position on this team than cb, we are desperate for a change at FS and webb is the obvious candidate there, it has nothing to do with his current performance, which has been pretty good for the most part

I like the "for the most part" added in on the end. Not sure if you have watched many games this year, but he has had 1 good game, which was last week, so I guess its easy to assume you watched that one, and are saying he is playing pretty well, or your a big fan of him maybe. Corner back is our worst position on the defensive side of the field, and youll fine many articles about it. The move doesnt come to preserve him, it comes because he isnt speedy anymore and just about everyone blows by him. Not as hard to blow by him when is already lined back at safety

  10. The fact that the are trying to switch Webb to a different position(which im all for, and suggest it a week ago) tells you who has been better this year up to this point. But saying which player is doing a better job then the other is saying the lesser of two evils pretty much.

The Only Good Games on the Schedule

Bengals @ Cardinals: If Monday Night is any indication, the Andy Dalton of prime time is about to ruin the Bengals season. Another prime time game for the Dalton led Bengals who struggled against the Texans defense. The Cardinals can get another step closer to a bye with a win.

Living near Cincy I love the reaction when the Bengals lose, so to me, this is the game im looking for hah. Im hoping the Texan game was a turning point for their season honestly, but it was just 1 game.  A 2 game losing streak though..the panic will set in, and the fans will stop buying tickets literally lol, that's how it is around here, with the fanbase.

  12. Speaking of which I thought we released Asa - says on the site he's on IR....must have missed that.

I noticed that also but it is because he was waived. There is a waiting time for another team to claim him if they wanted, which...no one did. Should be gone off roster list prob later today or tomorrow, cause the day to claim him was today I think

  13. Why if we need 5 yrds to get a 1st down we throw a 2 yrd pass doesn't make sense to me. We do that all the time.

What is sad is that the 2 yard passes arnt even like screens most the time, just a pass of 0-2 yards. Bengals blow my mind watching them, since they are local to me i see almost every game. Dalton will throw for 300 yards in a game, more than half of the yards comming off screens...why it works for them and not us......idk

  14. I can't say it enough, we crush this draft with the high picks we're going to get; We will be a SB contender next season. Its easy to overreact and we have so many holes to fill, but this offseason will be big in plugging up those holes.

Unless Ozzie completely changes his draft strategy I dont see us getting any needs from the draft sadly, instead additions to positions we are solid at already, mainly LB, DT. Every year it seems we ignore positions we need like WR,DB,S untill about the 5th,6th,7th round and expect something out of him. I get  rounds often dont matter, quality players can be found anywhere, but scouting late round (bargan) players as opposed to first couple rounds I dont understand.

I guess i can hope though, that we might select a CB or some need in the first couple rounds, havent taken one higher than the 5th round in what will be 4 years (Asa Jackson 2012)

  15. i think he is right joe needs to build a true #1 WR maybe thats in brashad but i would like to see a WR on draft day

I can see a WR on draft day, however probably one that will never make the cut. Every single year we draft one in the 5th, 6th, 7th round that usually that was projected in earlier rounds but has injury or some kind of issue so they fell in the draft, and we draft em thinking they can turn it around I guess, and be a solid player. I honestly dont know why every single year we draft a DE or OLB even though we have solid players at those positions. Its ppl like the OP that say draft a DE, then later talk about how Flacco isnt worth his contract, even though he has no one to throw to
