Edited to fix the name drop, and I completely agree. I really like this guy. I got him in the mid second in the forum mock, and he was my backup FS, due to having Jairus Byrd back there. I liked being able to let him sit for a year and learn behind a vet whose coverage skills were supreme in his day.

Yet after some more thought on the subject and discussions with @-Truth- after the pick, I think I agree with him that Karl Joseph's best fit is as an all-around SS. His game translates best to playing out of the box though. He's solid in coverage and tackles with ferocity in space. He never takes a play off, and he's one hell of a competitor.

agreed completely. If he plays to his potential he reminds me a lot of a Bob Sanders

  2. Not sure how I feel on this pick, really love Karl Joseph as a prospect. Think he is in a great situation in Oakland with Reggie Nelson beside him and some nice pass rush. I think my team offers similar talent around on D with a good pass rush and some solid corners on the outside. Obviously worry about the injury. My bigger concern is I truly do believe S is one of the hardest if not the hardest transitions from college to the pros. They are asked to know and do so much on the field and are usually in terrible match-ups. I have a lot of faith in Joseph blossoming into a great player and he is one of the few safeties available who has the skill set to do it all

  3. Not sure why there was a neg on Darian Stewart, had to plus 1 that pick. I think Ravens fans are a little irked with him as he did not do too much he, but he was a key cog for Denver's pass D and fit perfectly there. He really was not in the best situation here to thrive, hopefully that changes with Weddle and some health in the secondary now

  4. Nice got Jaye Howard. I almost took him last round but decided to go Morgan Moses. Really wanted Eric Kendricks but Howard was a great backup plan. He should be in a similar situation to KC where there is not too much attention on him as there are bigger names that needed to be watched with Sheldon Richardson, Clay Matthews and Anthony Barr so I would expect similar production

The pick is in. Was hoping for either Mathis or Warford to fall to my following selection, but I'm alright with Foster at this point. He was solid all-around last season and has held up well in pass protection over his last several. Could do worse at this point.

Solid pick--that Pitty Oline has gone from perennial question marks (when Faneca left) and injury bug to one of the most underrated groups in the league.

  6. Tough time making that pick. Really wanted another guy but will take the chance. Likely won't work out. I think Moses is one of the best RT in the league though and I want a dominant OL. He is lucky to have Bill Callahan in Washington, I think that really helped him make his jump last year and I expect him to get even better with another year in that physical style system they have going. Like the combo of Kalil, DeCastro and Moses on my right side, should provide a great run game..once I get a RB

David Amerson is an interesting one because he was so good in Oakland, but was pretty bad in Washington.

Also, we had a bit of a CB run there. From my perspective I'm happy to see that as I have 2 CBs already. Nothing like players coming off the board from positions you've already filled.

I think that is the hardest yet most fun part of this game. Trying to identify what position has good value and when it will be going seems like half the battle of this. And it seems to become more important as we get further from the first couple of rounds. Being at the end of a rush on a certain position can suck and can lead to a desperation pick (sometimes good value though if the ones who go first where ones you ranked lower). But being able to pick that player you want, and not your backup or backup-backup, from the position that is moving is just so oddly rewarding.

I think I have been a little late on most of my picks so far. I wanted a better LT and ended up with solid value with Castonzo near the end of the LT run (albeit I like him more than guys who went before him, still not the one I wanted), same may be true of my Jarvis Landry pick. I do think I hit one with DeCastro

  8. Value wise I wanted to take Edelman but did not think he fit well with Jameis Winston. Obviously perfect fit for what you are doing, he needs an O and QB that knows how to throw guys open and Tom is the best of the best at that.

On Roby, did not hear the Donkeys were planning to use him at FS..will have to look into that. if so I would guess more in a Tyrann Mathieu type role and as we all know given the spread attack I am sure he is essentially a CB still 60+% of the time

  9. I was getting worried that with all the CBs going someone would take Roby. He is one of my favourite young corners in the league and I think in the next 2-3 years he will be talked about as one of the best CBs. I love how he is used in Denver and he has shown to have the talent to line up in the slot or out on the boundary.

I have my two picks ready, it was just a matter of figuring out which one I think has the higher chance of dropping to my next. Jones is a bit hard to read here so I just went with him, fingers crossed I get my other guy.

good choice, albeit I do not pick before you do he was in my top 3

I had him rated above quite a few OTs that have gone already.

ditto, was surprised people were taking rookies and guys who have some pretty big injury histories over a guy like Castozo who rarely misses a game, does well, and has really been asked to do a lot for a LT in this league. Luck and the Colts have always seemed to love the five and seven step drop backs, and really push the intermediate game, he has largely held up well
