Great pick SteelersProphet will help with your OL setup
SAM agree with your analysis and it does show how much QB will effect team rankings, just was trying to show that point in regards to all the rankings or analysis....I will argue to the bitter end that Dalton is unfairly criticized, not just because I drafted him but because he is--he has been to the playoffs two years in a row and brought consistency to one of THE up-and-down franchises..I feel he gets very similar treatment that Joe did early on and of all fan bases we should be able to recognize the value of winning and having a shot every year and what that means
Darn on not being in the top 5..but its not surprising that 3 of 5 teams in your top 5 have high round picks and elite QBs..which is kinda why I wanted a high coach pick if we did draft them
Thanks. I debated taking him a couple rounds ago actually, so I'm very happy he lasted until now. Injuries in his rookie season scared a lot of people I guess.
I am excited to see how he performs this year. I wonder if at any point he will begin to push Terrance Newman for the starting spot. Bama players have had some troubled injury histories recently, I hope he bucks the trend. It will be a very important year for him
Personally I think it's unfair to judge our teams completely until they are all assembled. Right now my offense looks a little lacking because I'm missing some pieces that I still need to draft. By the same token an Oline can't be judged without all five guys.
Agreed because if we did that by looking at nflfan123 OL it would be kinda rough too ![]()
Who's OL is worse?
I am not trying to single out anyones team by stating them but Gevings (I wonder how they fit and work together schematically--one of my fav teams though), Ballhawker (one young group), BaltimoreFlacco (Needs more players and questions at T)...there are a ton of OLs that are questionable and I really think as I said earlier the way he built his offense suits how Big Ben plays..This is not saying Big Ben would not be better without an elite OL but I am not sure he would utilize an elite OL like a Tom Brady would (or pick another guy who is more phased by pressure).
Poor Offensive line play absolutely does negate the fact that you have good weapons, they are far from amazing. Holmes hasnt been healthy for 2 seasons and Jackson and Boldin are both limited to varying degrees. You dont have a true #1 WR although Graham can be the #1 target. You assembled a team that appears to want to pass the ball, but your OL wont give your QB time to succeed.
Of all QBs to have with that OL it is Big Ben..he seemingly does better with a pass rush and many teams (especially the ravens) do not even work upfield as they know he will burn them. Alot of his WRs are the "get the ball in their hands" type so Ben should not be holding it forever anyway--even though he will as that is what he does and makes him great. If I had drafted Bog Ben I would have done very similar knowing that is how he operates
If Colin stays healthy I think he is a very solid LB..just not sure he can do that. I dont think he was healthy in college and is not in the NFL..If he gets past that hump I think he has all the tools and is very good
I think your current personel is best suited for the 34. There is an ideal linebacker out there right now I feel you should grab this round to make that defense much more stable.
It very well could be..at this point I am just saying hybrid
In my "43 hybrid set" I have my front seven as:
Coples (DE), Reyes (DT), Jurrell Casey (NT), Kruger (Rush backer/DE)
Zach Brown (WILL or SAM), still need 2 more
In a 34 I could go:
Coples (DE), Casey (NT), Reyes (DE)
Kruger (Rush Backer), Zach Bown (Weak ILB), Need (Mike ILB & another Rush Backer)
I like that I can do both and like the idea of a Patriot esche front...PM me, if you like, who you think would round out the LB corps as I have several I am debating and not sure where to go
Sometimes I think some of us and even teams get so fixated on scheme that they play players out of position. I say this because I think you could've ran an excellent 4-3 defense but you got too fixated on having a Ravens style defense that your own lost its identity.
I had this issue throughout this whole game and still do to an extent. I had a plan going in but I have flipped and flopped back several times especially on offense. At this point I am still not sure with my defense..I could easily go 34 and my next pick may make better value that way, but not sure. I have drafted a ton of flexible scheme guys so I did not feel stuck into an idea. But it seems like most people have more solidified plans now and sometimes it is better at the end here so that you can fill holes with guys who fit..At the end I think I will do a small defensive and offensive philosophy above each of my rosters to make sense of it all
Pick in...I really like Eric Reid, and was a fan of his during the pre draft process. I do think he was the #2 safety in the draft and I think both him and Bethea will provide really good back end coverage
Ya our board was not too high on Eric Reid..I think he is a very good sound safety who does everything well. Personally I am a big fan and think of the safeties at the top of the draft this year he probably has the best skill set and ability to cover TEs..Slot maybe not as much as Vaccaro or arguably Elam..but he will be a very good player imo..However I have not heard the same rave reviews as Elam and Cyprien have been getting so I am wondering how quickly he can and will step in
Happy to see I got the guy I really wanted in Dietrich-Smith..I think he will have a great year after taking the starting job from Jeff Saturday and will fit perfectly in my zone blocking scheme
Pretty sure he said as a couple of us have..
Wait and see where we are after 25 rounds first
agreed and he is the organizer and decider of all of this...It is his call really and that has made this entire game nice, seamless and fun to be involved..I hope we rethink our GM draft next year around a little less voting as it makes the process tiring, messy and not as inclusive as what was hoped, atleast imo.
thanks for answering the question though
If we were doing 33 rounds (cough GABE cough)
I am pretty sure we are not going this far from what Gabe said earlier...What was the initial plan anyway
Mardi Gras wild?
Ha, never experienced but my guess is no... Canadians tend to go camping and go to parks and whatnot and drink/family time....There are fireworks..but no beads
What is canada day?
im guessing its kind of like 4th of july
lol. I initially read that as Canada Dry weekend. I'm sure you can imagine my imagination lol
It is very similar to 4tof of July...and Canada Dry is very prominent along with other beverages so you may not be too far off..I will send my picks to CA for this round and next
Anyone want my picks? I may be in and out over the weekend...it is Canada Day weekend up North so things get kinda wild
Ok so hopefully this is behind us...
I have my next pick lined up and I think its a gooder (as I do with all my picks)
Interesting pick for a Rookie DL..I guess if you need a NT he fits the build but I like couple of the other Rookie DTs still on the board much more
I PMed Ray the Day as he's up in this draft and the NBA one too lol
He sent me his pick for the NFL..Reggie Bush...Truth is up
three people inside of 5 minutes....
In about ten minutes he will be 'voluntarily' assigned as the draft grader
lol he gives an assessment of one team and everybody falls all over themselves to get him to evaluate their team
Thats what happens! I feel left out would you like to asses my team? In all sincerity I would love to hear
I have be waiting to see if Clutch pulls something together..no pressure clutch
If anyones pick is coming up and have a set board I am willing to take your pick(s) to speed up the process.
Good pick, he is limited to man power scheme though which is why I am guessing he has dropped

I am sure that will change some time soon. He is finally getting set up with some weapons and the defense is clicking..I will not lie I am extremely fearful of the Bungles but also at the same time very optimistic as their Owner will likely allow it to all implode
