  1. On countdown jay glazer did say there is a chance that Kubiak may be done. Really would love to bring back his whole staff. Some may follow Kyle shanahan when he gets his chance though
  2. agreed--dont see the Saints allowing a lateral movement if they do no shakeups this offseason and if they do he seems tied at the hip with Payton. Would anyone be interested in giving Joe Lombardi another shot? I know he kinda stunk it up with the Lions and Jim Bob is showing it can work there but he comes from the Payton tree and may be more ready now and Staffy at the time really loved him some CJ
  3. I'm kinda hoping/expecting the C position will follow a similar path as LT last year. We had Monroe and in all likelihood had the intentions of keeping him if there was no capable rookie waiting in the wings. Luckily we take Stanley and things become a little more simple. Obviously Monroe had even more of an injury past and other things cropping up but the Zuttah situation may fall in a similar line. I would be surprised though if the option is between a first rounder and Zuttah so I expect the situation to be a lot more murky than last year with LT. We should see a bunch of the C's at the senior bowl so that may be a differentiating ground after the second round
  4. I am much more in agreenace with this than trying to say a WR to something over $4M..I know people think Alex Lewis can take over for Wagner at RT but I think that is a pretty big risk. Outside of Yanda for the next four years we really don't have a lot of cap invested into our OL, if we sign Wagner to a 4 or 5 year deal by the time Ronnie Stanley is ready for his first big contract Wagners will be done/near done and we shift the focus to him. If both Lewis and Stanley end up performing there is no chance we sign both and we will likely be in a situation of what we have had in the past with Yanda and Grubbs, and then later on with Osemele--we will have to choose and obviously will choose Stanley. IMO no better time than our current situation to lock up Wagner for 4 or 5 years knowing that outside of Yanda we really have not invested much cap into our OL, and I don't want an OL consisting of almost all guys on rookie contracts...not a recipe for success imo
  5. Given how much of a turnstile our line has become at times I hope we do sign him to something around Cannon's deal--I would be okay with 6 Mill-ish a year knowing that Ronnie Stanley is on a rookie deal for a couple years, Alex Lewis is too, Yanda is locked up and whoever our C of the future will be will likely be a rookie or aging vet contract
  6. So with Marcus Cannon signing a: What do you think Rick Wagner's going rate is and any new thoughts if we re-sign him?
  7. This should not be under emphasized. Trestman not only ran the ball but changed up how we were running it. Juice was in the game much more, the runs were more down hill too. Yes he did a couple of those odd shotgun flick tosses but they seemed to work decently well. As much as I loved Kubiak's stretch zone scheme I think it is clear that without him here we need to move on from it, as it just does not work without him. I feel like we finally got a taste for what a running game looks like under Trestmans scheme in the second half. I hope he keeps that up going forward as West can be a pounder and I expect it will open up much pf the big plays in time. On that note if we do follow Trestmans run scheme I expect Forsett has no place in it as he really does not fit it too well. Buck Allen did well in his chances, and I think we are all excited to see Kenneth Dixon in the future too
  8. Have a league that is drafting today in 3 hrs (Aug. 28 at 1pm EST)!! LINK TO JOIN Open to anybody, pretty standard league, big playoff bracket so most have a chance ESPN...QB, 2 RB, 2 WR, TE, Flex, DL, LB, DB, DST, K, HC and bench guys Still need a bunch of people so please join!
  9. Me and my brother wanted to have a different type of league...draft is tomorrow August 21 @ 10MST LINK TO JOIN!! Roster setup is: QB, QB, RB, WR, TE, Flex, Flex, Flex, DST, K and a bunch of bench Thought it may be interesting to have a two QB league and a bunch (3) Flex options. Never done it before but wanted to try...12 team league
  10. I agree they may be more talented but Jax may have a bigger hurdle to climb in regard to changing what is and has been a perennial loosing culture. I don't think that should be underestimated. Oakland began that process last year and the confidence that comes from not being a perennial cellar dweller is huge imo. On that note though, Jax has a good chance to beat us, and a good chance at playoffs
  11. Looking forward to this one. Mainly want to see our young DL guys step up, those being Carl Davis, KLM and Urban. Indy does not have the best OL depth so I hope it is a confidence building game I really want Brandon Williams extended before the season starts and I am not hugely convinced we have guys who can clearly step in. I am ok with L. Guy at one end, I think he is extremely underrated. Jernigan I like but we all know he has some consistency issues. Carl Davis I loved coming out but he has not shown huge explosion and may be just a run stuffer, which is good and needed. KLM I personally was disappointed last game, did not feel he held his gap well, little push in pass game and looked exhausted at times. Urban has an injury history so I just want to see him get through preseason completely healthy.
  12. Never do this but wanna try... VS BUF: W- Even if we have some rusty veteran players playing for the first time I think we win this, will be an ugly game I expect though. @CLE: W- I will say win but I expect it to be on some last minute FG by Tucker. Will be hard to chime for Hue Jackson and RGIII with on week of game tape. @JAX: W- First home game of the year, hype after two wins. I will say W. VS OAK: L- I was so upset when we lost to the Raiders last year, now they may have our number. I think their WRs will really expose our secondary, and their pass rush may wreck havoc if they get up on us. VS WAS: W- Think we play conservative on D, give up a lot of yards but physically wear them down. Think Stanely starts coming into his own around this time and has a great game against Kerrigan and Preston Smith @NYG: L- I really like NYG. I think they have a rough start with all the new names, but should be getting it together by this time. Not sure we will have the pass rush to phase Eli and get some INTs @NYJ: L- Very well rounded team. If we can't get our run game going this could be difficult VS PIT: L- Bell should be healthy along with everyone else, giving them their chance to scoop one on us. VS CLE: W- After a stretch of losses we cannot wait for this game to help break out of the slump. @DAL: W- As good as their O can and will be I think we match up well VS CIN: L- Lets be honest they have our number every year and its disheartening VS MIA: W- I cannot see their OL holding up this year. Game will do well with what is there but we should have constant pressure and should be able to neutralize Suh and co. on the inside @NE: L- If they loose a couple games with Jimmy, Brady will be playing with a vengeance VS PHI: W- At this point I expect their QB situation to be even murkier...probably will play against Chase Daniels who I think will give us fits but we win last minute @PIT: W- Split with Pitty. They probably are sealed to make the playoffs we take advantage @CIN: W- My homerism makes me give a W, and a strong finish but I think it could be the opposite and Cincy gets into the playoffs and we don't.. 10-6 overall...hot start/finish and terrible mid stretch. Think I am being generous and my more realistic would be a loss to Dallas and Cincy at end of year for an 8-8 record
  13. Sorry for the wait on my pick--I am now officially done
  14. The Winking Bears select: Chris Boswell, K
  15. The Winking Bears select: Jahleel Addae, S
  16. @Mt. Crushmore are you going to do a conference matchup for voting with teams that were voted best in 3 years from now? Gotta ask as I would be part of that one
  17. The Winking Bears select: Chris Hogan, WR
  18. Appreciate all the votes for the best team in Div in the future. Was hoping to have the other vote though--I think halfway through the game I wish I had taken a guy like Tom Brady over Jameis Winston, would have had a different feel to my teams potential for this year. I was sucked in heavily by all the glowing reports on Jameis though and after last year (and me not being a huge fan at draft time) giving him a fair shot at being a stud QB, plus my hate for Tom made me do it. Little surprised @LosT_in_TranSlatioN is not receiving more votes for winning this year--one of the best OLs in the game from my view, targets that Flacco knows how to utilize with his TEs, good RB combo and huge potential with DeVante Parker and a very solid DL. Thought he would split more of the votes with with the aerial attach of Drew Brees and co.
  19. The Wiking Bears select: Jay Gruden, OC
  20. Was not sure voting on this one. In all honesty I think they all could win the division now and I have no clue who would be best for the future, so well done..I forced myself top pick though. Went with @BOLDnPurPnBlacK for the win of div now. Thinking Bradford has some years of experience, not great ones but he can keep handing that ball off to Gurley and the D should always keep it a close game. As for the three years from now went @Archeearl92--love your OL and big WRs on the outside, Your team could be a perennial bully through the physicality of your WRs and the nasty play of your OL. Almost went @RaineV1 on this one as I think your team is built for Urban Myer in such a great way that it would just work
  21. Also a big fan of AllBlacks team...if he drafted a backup QB like Fitzy or someone I would pick him for both questions. Went with Kinda Dante for the right now winner. No big names on D but I think they would play solid and the weapons for Carson look nice
  22. Keened up to get Marvin Lewis--I needed a really good DC opposite Sean Payton and imo is one of the best developers of defensive talent over the last little while. He has obviously never got the Bungles over the hump but will not be asked to do that now. I will be excited for the day that he leaves the Bengals as I think their perennial status of AFC North competitors will drop quickly as he keeps that roster well coached from the starters to the backups.
  23. The Winking Bears select: DeAngelo Hall, S
  24. add me in for a little
  25. Christian Jones, LB
