  1. I agree he had a down year, but he has shut down many top guys and I think he has some years left in him. I have a ton of respect for the yappy guy, he seems to disrupt most of our WRs every year.
  2. Exactly--Ike Taylor at 7 stars is not that bad of a deal..I would rather hold on to him if I dont get an offer
  3. Pittsburgh Steelers Purge List Levi Brown (6.5 stars) Bruce Gradkowski (1.5) Shaun Suisham (1.5) Kion Wilson, LB (0.5) Terrance Garvin, (0.5) Antwon Blake, S (0.5) Ross Ventrone, S (0.5) Robert Golden, S (0.5) Nick Embernate, OL (0.5) Bryant Browning, OL (0.5) Derek Moye, WR (0.5) Danny Coale, WR (0.5) Justin Brown, WR (0.5) Alvester Alexander, RB (0.5) Total Savings: 15 EDIT: Miscalculated Levi Brown Cut
  4. Just another sell for Ike Taylor----Brent Grimes got tagged at 11 stars..Taylor is 7--steeeaaal
  5. its only 7 stars...I will take nearly anything. I will try and sell the price by saying that I know from experience, as most of us do, that CBs and S's tend to go for sooooo much in FA because they are the last positions to be bid on so the people who missed out just throw it around like Candy..I honestly think he will go for the same come FA so you can secure him at this point. The same can be said for Troy Polamalu
  6. I think Dallas got a steal in that deal. On a side Polamalu, Ike Taylor, and Larry Foote all on the cheap. Get any while you can
  7. Add LaMarr Woodley to the list..8 star cap
  8. Steelers trade Block: Mike Adams, T (0.5) Ike Taylor, CB (7) Troy Polamalu, S (8.5) Larry Foote, LB (1.5) Also may Tag and Trade Emmanuel Sanders if you want a shot at him before all the crazy cap people get a chance
  9. I may have to do the same, they have alot of young talent tucked away on their team. Plus alot of them got playing time this year with the injuries. Ex. Vince Williams at ILB, Shamarko Thomas at S, Beechum at LT. I respect them alot from front to bottom, my only wish is that they would stop restructuring at some point and just cut some players and move young a little quicker. We do the same some times so I am kinda working with the glass house throwing rocks metaphor
  10. Got my state of the franchise and depth charts up---See depth chart for guys I am attempting to trade. I will be honest, look at their caps first so you know what you may be getting into. While the Steelers cap sucks--I am at -4.5 stars--they really are an easy fix for being in a decent cap spot. Did not know they traded their third to the browns though, what a terrible move
  11. sending you my team big board
  12. Noooo--I really wanted to Titans...back to the drawing board. I am really excited for them this year with the Whiz
  13. Its not that the math is hard in what you have shown it just may not be consistent across all people as of right now. I just want a clear set of rules to work with so I know what I can and cannot do in terms of savings and we are all working with the same assumptions. At this point I do not think we are to be honest
  14. Ok Im just going to wait till the rules page is fully updated and set for everything.
  15. I say keep it simple and stick with the basic formula and no post june 1st...We already have one full base salary cut to help the books
  16. Ok makes sense so simply stated in a formula would be: Cap Figure - Dead Money = Cap Savings (and in some cases cap costs ex. Joe)
  17. Can someone explain to me how we are doing cap hits with trades and cuts. for example: Terrell Suggs (2014 cap year on spotrac): He has 7.8 M base, 4.6 M other bonus, 4.6 M dead = 12.4 total cap figure --so if cut/traded would it be a 7.8M (or 8 star) saving?? how are we using other bonuses, dead, and signing bonuses in these calculations?
  18. Darn I love the Rams--mainly Jeff Fisher. Atleast they werent at the top of my board
  19. interesting--I wonder how others went about their team picks and what drew them to it. I am hoping I get the team I want, not sure if they will be desired at this point...I may need backups
  20. fair assessment -- I must say my pick will be based on which team I like the most, not as much cap, FA, draft picks, etc. Not sure if this is what happened through the first ten picks but I am guessing so
  21. Before we 'start' and everyone has teams can we have a set date for trades and when they can start. Last year they went crazy once it started but if we are going by "real-life" rules trades cannot happen till FA opens...Which I think will simplify things too. Just a question/thought
  22. yay who is on this committee? I am glad we have one as it will be much smoother in the long run for decision making
  23. Nice! from previous experience as a player and helping run it I think this year we should set someone up as the commission for simplicity..as much as I loved voting not sure it was the best/efficient. Also we should make trades not allowed till after FA period because it was so crazy off the start and I think many people had traders remorse once FA came around. Just some thoughts that I had from last year. I am excited for it though in any way we take it up again!
  24. Is this for just a mock NFL Draft and pick a team..or is this the more intense pick a team, free agency, cuts, salary, draft and so on
  25. yes it is---but it is the best I can find and he likely has similar verbiage, plays etc. so it is basically just a small look into what plays are out there. Did not mean it as this is Kyles playbook but some stuff we may see if hired
