  1. fusuymada- I can't really agree with Tucker being a quote 'product of a system'. I mean, yea, the Ravens have never had an offense that scores the most touchdowns in the league. But that's about as far as you can go. There's no question that Tucker deserves to be the highest-paid kicker ever- if we played in a dome, there might be the tiniest bit of leverage- but we don't. He's the most accurate in NFL history, has one of the strongest legs the league as ever seen, he's been clutch, he's been consistent, almost automatic from inside 50, the only reason his percentage isn't higher is because he's set the bar so high for himself that Harbaugh sends him out for kicks that most teams don't even attempt unless it's in the last second of a half or game. And he's never missed an extra point, and he's never been hurt. The Ravens have absolutely zero leverage, which is fine with me, because he's the best kicker in the league and we should absolutely pay him.
  2. Wow... Mystigo_Dragon: I appreciate that you articulated your opinion very well, but what you're saying is just simply not true. The MOST that I could POSSIBLY lean toward what you're saying, is to say 'you're right, Flacco has not won 100% of the games in his career'. Other than that... I have no idea. In regard to games we are 'supposed to win'- we have one of the best records in the league against teams under .500 in recent years. You want a QB who 'doesn't win games he's supposed to win'? Roethlisberger is absolutely great in my opinion, but the Steelers record features losses to 2 or 3 of the worst teams in the league, every single year. Who were we 'supposed to beat' last year? I'm thinking the Browns, I'm thinking the entire NFC south, and I'm thinking Houston and Jacksonville. We lost to Houston, and I have never strayed from my opinion that that's because Houston knew Kubiak's offense too well. But we DEMOLISHED the NFC south, and we beat Jacksonville and Cleveland. Who are the 10 quarterbacks who are 'better winners' than Flacco? It's actually crazy that you are claiming to judge quarterbacks by 'winning', which is largely how they should be evaluated, rather than useless statistics- yet you're still saying Flacco isn't in the top 10? Who are the quarterbacks who are better winners than Joe?
  3. Seems like an awfully hard thing to balance and make everyone happy. Ozzie has resorted to signing veteran receivers so often, and the fan base is clamoring for him to draft a guy so we can actually develop a 'number 1' receiver who plays in Baltimore for a long time. Ozzie finally does that, now we want another veteran. You can only have so many guys at each position, as everyone on here knows, so there has to be some give and take. They've invested a lot into receivers in the past two years, and when you do that, you don't have space to sign Greg Jennings or some other veteran. I have a lot of belief in Aiken, and I think Brown is going to have a nice season too. Marlon Brown caught as many passes in his rookie season as Torrey Smith did last season. That's kinda crazy. With as many capable targets as they have, they won't need anyone to be having a huge season. Could see ALOT of guys catching 40-50 passes and the Ravens having an extremely successful passing game like that.
  4. In my mind the biggest improvement the team is prepared to make this year is red zone offense. With Taliaferro healthy, the depth at tight end, and Perriman, who it seems has the ability to make the body control contested catches that Torrey had trouble with, I think the Ravens could have one of the best red zone offenses in the league. If Pitta comes back that'd be a huge bonus, but just the size and versatility and depth of having Gilmore, Williams, and Boyle in goalline I think is going to help Joe out a ton
