  1. Is Matt Elam a bust? Hmm.. let's see. He can't tackle, he can't cover, he's confused about his assignments and he often overshoots or undershoots his point man. So, does that constitute a bust? Unless he miraculously turns into Ed Reed in his prime this year, I would safely say "YES"!

  2. Looking at the free agent receivers available, something tells me Reggie Wayne, Hakeem Nicks or Shorts may land with us for this upcoming season.

I also can see a 1 year deal with Dashon Goldson as well. With Brooks starting the season on PUP, having Goldson would give us freedom to let Brooks heal longer and be more fresh by the playoffs.

The problem with Godlson is two fold imo. One, the Saints are actually trying to trade him (which won't happen). Two, he's become a huge liability in coverage I hear and playing very poorly.

As for the WRs, I don't think we make a move for one right now. We wait till the draft or maybe sign a Crabtree for a bargain one year prove it type deal. As for Reggie Wayne, he is only a possibility during TC if the receivers aren't panning out. His case is going to be similar to that of Champ Bailey last year.

  3. Does Ozzie know Cecil Shorts is still available? He'd be a nice pickup at WR for us. Also if the Vikings were to trade Patterson, would love him as a return specialist who could produce just as well as Jacoby and probably cheaper since he is on his rookie contract still.

Ozzie knows everything there is to know about every single free agent out there man! If he doesn't one of his staff members will make sure to remind him of every available free agent. I am guessing they have a big board up with free agents available, if they are released or otherwise, which teams are interested in them, and if they are gone! There's got to be something like that going on. Otherwise it is impossible to keep up.

  4. Red Bryant of the Jags released per Rotoworld. 6'4" 320lbs and a very above average run stopper. Sign me up!

He would be a good signing. If the Ravens are interested, I bet you Eugene Monroe and Daryl Smith will both be on the phone with Red right now. I'm not sure they were there when he signed with Jacsonville though.

  5. With Scott Chandler being released from Buffalo, I bet the Ravens at least consider him for a cheap TE

He would be a great addition and would be cheaper than Owen Daniels' contract with Denver too. Much better red zone target for Flacco at 6' 7"

  6. Well, he signed so there he goes. It definitely sucks.

I think we need to reach out to Wilfork before he goes too. He would really be a great stop gap for Ngata. He is not an every down player right now, but the Ravens are magical in their D-line rotation to keep everybody fresh anyway.

  7. Wilfork and Redding top my list. I wouldn't write off Redding just because of a visit.

When impact free agents that can come cheap go for a visit, they're more likely signed before they get out of their building. Not always, but most times.

  8. I really would like to bring back Redding. I'm hopeful he comes here. He would be the best replacement for Ngata.

I can't see Culliver. First of all, he had that very controversial statement years ago and on top of it, he's probably getting a nice deal.

I like Redding too. But, I think he is headed to Arizona for a sit down. How about Wilfork? Would he be a short term run stuffer answer for losing Ngata?

  9. I doubt he's leaving Indy without a deal.  I imagine it's similar to us not letting Steve Smith out the door until he signed that contract.

And to make matters worse, I just read that we aren't on his list of preferred teams anyway. Go figure.
