To me if Foster gets past Arizona, then it just makes sense for the Ravens to trade places with Indy to get Foster especially if the Eagles are high on him and the Colts are looking at an O-lineman.

If Christian McAffery is available the Eagles go for him imo.

Unfortunately we open the season against them, because he'll be tough to defend across from Green for the 5 games he'll be healthy as a pro... but at least another good player falls to us.
Bengals always choose the troubled ones because somehow they feel they get value because nobody else wants them. Example being Burfict and Adam Jones. So, I suspect they're going to choose all the players with issues. They take Foster with their first and take Conley with their second and so on...
Shock us into being nice souls by keeping the forum open! There are so many world altering decisions that get changed regularly and we're talking about a sports forum website here. Come on media brass! Indulge us for another year and don't make us beg!

You noticed that too! lol
With the first pick I want a safe and talented starter. I don't need a superstar. What I don't want is a guy who could be boom or a bust. Because more often than not, these guys end up as busts.
I've whittled it down to this list of potential candidates at 16 in my order of preference.
Rueben Foster, Corey Davis, Mike Williams, Derek Barnett, Forrest Lamp, Cam Robinson without a trade. With a trade down, one of the two offensive linemen left over or Takk Mckinley or Marlon Humphrey.
What do you guys make of Lamp's agent implying through a tweet that Forrest Lamp may be our pick at 16?

If they have a willing partner and the likes of Fournette, Davis, Williams, Barnett, Robinson and Foster are all taken then surely they trade down if they have an opportunity.
Let's hope they get really lucky and strike gold on all 3 days! Not likely but neither is it impossible. I'm rooting for lady luck to sneak into the draft room in the shape of Ozzie Newsome!
Just now, billiejean said:The other option would be to trade back but we would most likely have to give up a few early rounders to move up and get Fournette. I also don't think drafting him will automatically make our offense elite.
I believe it will for 2 fundamental reasons. First Fournette is a beast that can plough through defenses a la Peterson. And second, it'll afford Joe the opportunity to just hand the ball over to him in short yardage situations knowing a first down is a likely outcome and will help Joe realize his potential in the play action game. Joe can be deadly with Fournette in tow imo.

Corey Davis, WR
I love him as our pick but...not with Fournette on the board man! I am so dang torn.

Wow! Perhaps among the most gifted defensive player in the draft and now this? I just wish it was bong instead so he could drop into our laps... but sexual assault simply erases him from our board.... even the allegation of it I think given Steve's clear stance on this issue.
I agree that drafting an edge rusher might not be ideal because I doubt Barnett is there. So that begs the question, if all the desirable first round players regardless of position start going quickly, does it make sense for the Ravens to trade up and grab a generational talent like a Fournette that is going to transcend our offense into the elite category instantly assuming we get Nick Mangold and a serviceable RT that is adept at run blocking? Or do we just take the best player available regardless of position perhaps an O-lineman or one of the top 3 WRs??
3 days left.. I cant wait.
3 days remaining dream draft
Rnd 1- Barnett DE/OLBrs
Rnd 2- Reuben Foster ilbr
Rnd 3- Smith Schuster WR, CB Tankersely
Rnd 4-Dawkins OL
Rnd 5- Jalen Myrick CB
Rnd 6- Zach Banner OL
Ain't gonna happen. From round 2 onwards think a round earlier on every player cited. Foster is going in round 1 probably before we pick and Schuster and Tankersley going in round 2 and Dawkins will be gone by round 3.

I also think Eric spoke very highly of him in the presser as well. Moreover, if 2016 production were discounted, Smtih Schuster is in the conversation as one of the top wideouts in the country no?
Just now, sizzlingdoom said:By later rounds do you mean the second round? Cuz I think both of those guys are going the second for sure, maybe Kupp slips to the third.
I was thinking one of them may be available to us with the first of the 3rd round picks...
I think this year we have a shot at drafting either a Smith Schuster or Cooper Kubb in the later rounds because the closer we get to the draft the more I believe we are going to augment our O-line with the first pick.
People aren't sleeping on the current Ravens receivers Garrett. The problem is the current roster has no name or production recognition save Mike Wallace. When you have a bunch of players with no production, it is normal for them to be underestimated.
I don't understand all the negs for this mock. It's a pretty decent draft overall except I don't agree with the first pick of Humphrey especially with Johnathan Allen, Haason Reddick, Corey Davis, Cam Robinson and Derek Barnett still on the board. I cannot imagine Humphrey being the best available player on the Ravens board at that time period.

The only place we can trade down to is to #19 right before Denver because Denver is taking that guy!

He is going to be a beast in the category of Julio Jones! I badly want this dude to catch Flacco's rockets this year.
If there is a run of any kind especially with QBs or RBs, then a player that is top 10 on our board is going to slide to us and that is the player we're going to pick. If it is an offensive lineman that is ranked so high on our board, I'm not sure but if he is I'm near certain the Ravens won't hesitate to pick him. But, I don't buy into the theory that we pick offensive linemen in the first round every year like the Cowboys did to build a stout O-line. We don't operate that way.
Marty seems like a 'yes man' to his offensive play makers and not necessarily an OC that has his players respecting him out of how good he is and out of fear. Again that is from the outside looking in and just seeing how reluctant he was last year to take command and run the dang ball in critical situations. Just seeing the reactions of offensive players that have left here in Juice and Aiken basically calling him out implies that may indeed be the case.
So my advice to him would be to man up and take charge.

Flacco isn't the kind of QB that makes ordinary WRs into stars. He needs stars to catch balls from him because he doesn't have the football instincts of a Tom Brady or Drew Brees. He is just a talented QB with a great strong arm and not very accurate. So we should accept who he is and make sure he succeeds by giving him the weapons at receiver that can make contested catches, get wide open and catch all balls thrown to them. As for him being worth 100M, sure he is because that is the market for these guys. If you have a franchise QB you pay him market price and there is no guarantee he's going to be Brady either. We are lucky we have Flacco right now. It could be a whole lot worse.
