I am sure it has nothing to do with Chykie or Asa other than they are not playing well enough right now. Look, Steve Bisciotti has reiterated over and over again, that he would like to make sure the young guys we draft play for us. That is borne out by us not signing or drafting a RT this year. Ricky Wagner and Jensen are doing well enough at the position that they think it isn't necessary. However, with the CBs, it is clear that neither Chykie or Asa are up to it right now.
That is the reason they are going all out trying to sign a veteran as our insurance policy!

Hello. A brief excerpt from Ryan Mink who literally saw Urschel at practice so you can spend some time pondering your caustic remark laden with ill founded sarcasm. Here is the actual observation from Ryan Mink's post:
"One knock on center/guard John Urschel is that he isn’t that strong. His arms don’t match up to defensive tackle Brandon Williams, but Urschel is a big, cut player."

Andre Johnson is an elite receiver by any standard. Torrey Smith is an up and coming receiver who had his first 1000 yard season last year. To compare him to Johnson is very unfair to both players.
Andre Johnson is a total receiver and one of the best in past decade. Torrey isn't and is basically a deep threat and evolving as a complete receiver. He may never ever be in the league of Andre Johnson, but that is okay. Would I exchange Torrey for Andre. Probably not at this point in Andre's career. However, if it was 2 yrs earlier with the present day Torrey, I would have. At that point we may have gotten 5-6 yrs of a dynamic Andre Johnson, but right now we may only get a couple unless he turns in a Tony Gonzalez type career.

Urschel gets pushed back a lot, which seems like the Gradkowski syndrome to me. However, he is super smart unlike Gino who had trouble dissecting defenses and getting his O-line on the same page... hopefully in a year or two Urschel adds strength and bulk and is our future center in 2 yrs. Zuttah can be a formidable guard for us.

We've sighed one solitary CB after the draft? It beats me. I understand that there are 31 other teams recruiting, but is it such a hard sell to land a CB to such a CB needy team such as ours? I wouldn't think so. Why then are we losing recruits to other less needy teams??
And finally, when the night drew to a close, because we didn't have a single offensive player drafted, we decided to reach and pick a prospect that was slated to go in the 5-6th rounds! Yay! Justice served.
I didn't hear it anywhere... I guessed we must since we haven't drafted any tackles so far that can start day 1. Sorry if it came across any other way.
I wasn't uber excited with the pick last night, but this morning I feel differently. I feel we really got the best available player who I believe will be the face of our defense in 5 yrs. Go Ravens and add the next best available player at 48!
We have 16 more players to go before we pick tomorrow. I truly don't expect a good OG or safety to fall to us at that point... hopefully we can pick another impact player tomorrow. I am not unhappy with the Mosely pick because I do believe he was the highest rated player on our board, but now all good safeties are gone with only one from Florida State left.... I hope we get Morgan Moses or Brooks tomorrow.
This draft will come back to haunt us in the long run because we had the pick of safeties in the first but by the end of the round, all draftable safeties gone!!!
