  1. Smith is 6'2 209, melvin 6'2 193, walker 6'2 190. I can count the number of starting caliber Cbs with that kind of size on one hand and not one of them is a free agent. In fact, only jackson and webb are under 190 with playing experience. Size isn't the issue.
  2. You have to be fair in your assessment. You're right that walker is a pretty safe bet, but if you're going to use his college stats to compare then you should use greenwood, pointer and Jacobs as well. Or you give him 0s across the board like the others because he hasn't taken a professional NFL snap
  3. That's bold to say considering he's never caught a single NFL pass
  4. never been. I'll have to check it out
  5. How could the secondary be any worse than it was last year? We were down to CBs off the street. Plus Elam is being replaced for the time being and Hill looks to be starting full time. sky is the limit
  6. Webb has it hard enough staying healthy just playing CB. No way he gets the job as returner. They may let him go back there and field a few like he's done in the past, but nothing more than that. The job is likely to be either camps or carter's imo
  7. I wonder why mink said released instead of just saying former patriot for kyle Arrington. Gave me a scare thinking the ravens released him
  8. What happened to Oher? Remember his rookie year when he was mauling everyone in front of him? Then all sudden he got soft. So confusing.
  9. Camp might be on the short end of the stick unfortunately. Since he's been hurt the other wrs are soaking up practice time and excelling. He's likely to be placed on IR so we don't lose him to another team.
  10. I don't mind the drops in practice Torrey Smith couldn't catch a cold at first SSS. drops a few here and there. Plus he's a rookie playing with vets for the first time. the game speed has picked up a little. with that being said, he needs to learn how to focus. The focus drops excuse is only going to fly but for so long.
  11. You're absolutely right. However, people are very visual, and although all acts of domestic violence are egregious, seeing it makes it seem more real. Plus the league likes to pretend to care, but they don't. They just care about making money. Ray Rice would still be in the league right now had that video not surfaced. That's why it took another reoccurrence for Ray McDonald and Greg Hardy to finally be reprimanded.
  12. Yup Karma is real. They will never win in football. The dude that pissed on Art's grave probably set them back another 25 years. The irony in basketball is that part of the reason Lebron left in the first place was because Cleveland didn't get him any help and he had to do everything for the team, now that he back his help has gone down and he's back to having to do everything again. Cleveland fans like to blame others for their misfortune when the fact of the matter is they just have awful GMs and owners.
  13. you can't stand him because he is automatic? That just sounds like hate my friend. Dude is probably the least outspoken NBA Superstar
  14. It's a different era for qbs. They don't take anywhere near the amount of punishment they used to and by the time Joe hits his 40s. Qbs will likely be wearing red jerseys in the games at that point. Especially if Tom Brady is still playing
  15. It's kind of hard not to improve when you had to play guys off the street a season ago. What happened last year has to be one of the more fluke/ rare things to happen to a team. Every year a team gets the injury bug, but never have I seen it happen so often to one position group.
  16. Easy to say without pads on, but I do hope it starts to click for him.
  17. I'd say that speaks more to the Ravens than Welker. Webb has matched up with him quite nicely in recent years and just because Flacco has a big arm doesn't restrict him to being a vertical qb. He can make all the throws and there is nothing wrong with having a security blanket on third downs like Mason was for us. With that being said, I'm completely against bringing Welker in. I just didn't think you had solid points for why not. I think both a healthy Camp and Carter bring more to the table as a slot receiver. Plus I see us being able to put Smith in the slot and let Brown/Aiken/Waller play outside opposite Perriman. Welker adds little upside and value at this point in his career.
  18. Knee injuries are no joke. 90% of guys try to come back too soon and they struggle because of it. Unless your name is Adrian Peterson chances are it will take more than a year to be 100% and then even more time to regain confidence in the knee.
  19. I love Camp. He's a friend, but his injury history makes me nervous he will make the team. Maybe he's be placed on IR so he doesn't take up a roster spot but still remains with the team to compete next year. My hope is he gets healthy quick and shines, but Carter sounds like a beast too. Going to be tough to keep them both
  20. I don't disagree. In fact, I think he is a great player for us which doesn't seem to be the consensus among fans. I'm simply trying to state two things; one is that the numbers might not be there but the production is, and two is if the numbers do come this year I don't see us having too much of a problem replacing him if he wants a max contract simply because we seem to do it every year at that position
  21. maximus is the obvious choice. It would be like gladiator as fans chant while he enters the arena. My first thought was mad maxx and thinking of how both roll, maximus is the easier chant
  22. "Despite taking just 330 snaps, Jernigan ranked as the league%u2019s 14th-best defensive end in a 3-4 system, according to Pro Football Focus (PFF). He ranked sixth in run-stop percentage and second, only behind Houston%u2019s J.J. Watt, in pass-rush productivity." just want this point to hit home for the negative people. Ngata was a mountain in the middle for a long time. However, he was aging and Jerrigan and Williams came in and proved that the DL will be fine without Ngata's presence. He will be missed, but the production won't fall off by much if any
  23. you don't know what condition he is in. If he's healthy only the docs and Pitta himself can determine that. Besides, if he goes on IR a roster spot is still open. Players in the NFL used to play with broken bones. Hell Ronnie Lott cut off his finger so he could play. If this is what he loves and he wants to risk his body for it who are we to judge? As long as he takes the time to make sure he comes back with the least possible chance for injury I have no problem with him being on this team
  24. well he said that last year too. Talk is cheap (even though I do hope he produces) And think about it...as long as we keep producing guys that can put up numbers why fish out a lot of money? Since I could remember we've had pretty much no name OLBs come in and become studs only to leave and be replaced by more studs. I'd say since the Adalius Thomas days. probably even before him. Granted the luck has to run out at some point, but it really hasn't fizzled out for at least a decade.
  25. wow...calm down. First of all, the Ravens were comfortable letting Ngata go for more money because they performed just fine without him for the last month of last season. It was a tryout for Jerrigan and Williams and they answered the call. Not to mention Davis is a stud against the run, but lacks pass rushing ability which was a big reason he dropped. We will be just fine on the line. We're set at LB and pretty well off at CB unless everyone decides to get hurt at the same time which was beyond rare. We are most questionable at Safety, but Hill is a stud and maybe lewis will bring more than what the past safeties have. As far as "leaders" Ngata was perhaps the quietest guy on the team. I'm pretty sure his leadership won't be missed THAT much. D Smith is a proven leader and will continue to do so. We the top pass rush duo in the league based off last season, and one of the best LBs in the game in Mosley. As long as Jimmy stays healthy (which is admittedly a long shot) he is a lock down CB. At least let a few games play out before you jump ship
