I'm in.
That match should be forever coined "The Burning Bridge."
That's why I think it's unlikely they're doing that. Giving up their career because they don't like the new coach or whatever is pretty much the definition of cutting off your nose because your face pissed you off.
Yup, Willis and Borland left due to injury concerns, and Smith was old. Not too sure about Davis, though he made it sound like a sabbatical instead of retirement.
A dig at the FO maybe. Jim H. was very well liked by his players. I'm sure many of them didn't like how that entire thing played out.
The thing that gets me is, if they don't like what management is doing, they should just ask to be traded instead of retiring.
Stupid rule imo. Close games are going to be won and lost by which kicker screws up or which team makes more 2 pt. conversions. They shouldn't be decided that way.
It might benefit the Ravens because Tucker is a great kicker, but I still think the rule change sucks.
The realignment hurt the rivalry a lot. But I don't really miss it.
Yeah I gotta say I was cracking up at the text messages
Same here. I can imagine how embarrassed they might be now that those messages are on display.
Lol at "Omg! Spaz." That had me in tears.
SF to Arizona is the equivalent of the Ravens going to Jacksonville for a road game. I don't constitute that as 'little' travel compared to the rest of the NFL teams. We could probably get to over half of the NFL teams with less travel.
Well would you rather take a long trip to SF, come back and take another trip to ARZ and back later in the year? Evidently, the front office thinks not. I remember a few years ago, the 49ers traveled to Cincy, then stayed east for a week before playing the Eagles in Philly. Similar thing here.
And for what it's worth, we have an extra day to travel because the Cardinals game is Monday Night.
No, they specifically requested Oak/San Fran back to back so they could remain a week in the bay area without travel. Not the same thing in any universe of the idea.
Well if we're staying out west between SF and ARZ, I really wouldn't consider it a big deal, even if it is more travel than SF and OAK.
SF to ARZ is still very little travel by NFL standards.
No. SF and Oakland are right next to each other. SF and Phoenix are not. They are definitely not the same thing.
The point is that they wanted two consecutive games out west in order to save a trip. At least that was my understanding.
You show me where a west coast team had back to back away games on the east coast , TWICE , and I'll shut up .
Otherwise , you are wrong . Show me the schedule , go back 10 years if you have to
Traveling west to east is much faster too .
But I read recently that our FO requested playing at OAK and at SF back to back weeks. They wanted to play on the coast twice in a row to save a trip. At SF and ARZ back to back is basically the same thing trip wise.
I think the Eagles have gotten way worse. Foles has shown way more than Bradford (27/2 in 2013). They traded a QB who didn't finish last season for a guy who has always been injured and tore his ACL two years in a row. I think Murray will be a big downgrade from McCoy because the Cowboys used him up last year. Losing your most productive receiver (Maclin) hurts too.
Also, for all the talk about Foles and McCoy each having a down year, Shady was still 2nd in the league with over 1,300 yards, and averaged over 4 a carry. Their O line was ravaged with injuries, which affected McCoy, which affected Foles. It's like Chip got rid of two guys who he thought wasn't cutting it, but didn't address the WHY. They had too many injuries on their line.
I should have bet money on this one happening. Oakland, where NFL players go to die...
Trent's already dead though lol.
No. Going on 37.
3 years 15 million? Talk about overpaid.
Teams use different balls.
So when one team possesses the ball, they use their own. When the other team possesses the ball, they use their own?
Just wondering...and maybe I'm totally ignorant and missing something, but what advantage does deflating balls provide? If both teams are using the same ball at the same time, what's the advantage? Again, maybe I'm missing something blatantly obvious ![]()
Is Jim signed through next year or is this his final year? I ask cause he may not want to come back.
I think his contract ends after this season
If the Niners actually make the playoffs, I have an extremely hard time believing that that won't save his job. If they lose in the playoffs and fire him, they'd be way behind on their coaching search, as most of the hot candidates will have already been hired.
Isn't there a warrant out for his arrest? He probably wasn't going to be available anyway.
Well in that case, I stand corrected. Could they theoretically arrest him on Sunday if he's at the stadium?
Edit: Nevermind, he just got taken into custody and released, lol
Honestly, I think the Vikings deactivating him is a dreadful overreaction.
I have Germany winning. It would also be fascinating if Klose broke the record today.
Good Lord, these playoffs are insane!!
