  1. IMHO, the new PAT 15-yard line will fail, but could be wrong!

I almost hope it does, just so the NFL sees it and changes it back to normal.

  2. Wonder if I'm the only one who likes the Extra Point being moved back. With this passing league, I was positive the Kicker position would turn into a dying a breed and be phased out. Now the NFL just put emphasis on having a good Kicker and made it more important of a position for the full 60 minutes, not just parts of the game.

I think it's a terrible change because games are now going to be won and lost by what happens after TDs. What if a game comes down to a kicker missing a 33 yard FG? What if it comes down to which team makes for 2 pt attempts? Not how games should be decided.

  4. November 6th 2011: Torrey Smith catches a 26 yard TD pass from Joe Flacco in Pittsburgh with 8 seconds left on the clock in a 23-20 win over the Steelers. I'll never forget that moment. God bless you, Torrey.

That was a special one for me too, since it was my birthday. Great, great present.

  5. I think it's pretty telling about our fanbase that we would rather rant and rave endlessly about the Patriots, but hardly talk at all about Trestman and the offensive coaching hires. Why do we complain about another team instead of actually talking about our own team?

    1. RavensAllTheWay

      RavensAllTheWay

Isn't our offense supposed to be very similar with Trestman?

  6. 9/10/14:Carolina Panther Greg Hardy was found guilty Tuesday night of assaulting his former girlfriend and threatening to kill her. I await swift & harsh punishment. Why have the Panthers not released him yet?

      RavensAllTheWay

I think he was found guilty in July, but has appealed. He'll have his appeal heard in November, I believe.

  7. All the recent changes have completely changed the Browns. They have talented players now and will get better with free agency and the draft, the Browns will be a very powerful team in 2014

And then November is gonna come, and they'll be 3-5 or 2-6.

  8. I don't want the Texans WR coach. Jacoby looked like a bum with him, but Jacoby was a play maker with Hostler... no thanks

Most mid to late round WRs never develop good route running or even make a real impact, regardless of the WRs coach.

Well aside from AJ and Hopkins, the Texans rarely, if ever, addressed the position high in the draft or with a big FA name. So it shouldn't be a surprise that AJ didn't have a true complement on the other side.

  10. I hope the reports about the FO forcing coaching staff decisions on Harbs aren't true. I wouldn't want our team to turn into the Baltimore Cowboys.

    1. RavensAllTheWay

      RavensAllTheWay

      Right. Because

Ray Lewis and Ed Reed made all the coaching decisions when they were here, and Harbs was just in the background the whole time.

  11. I figure the delay in hiring an OC does not mean good things. Most likely promoting Hostler. Ugh. Oh, Go Seahawks!

    1. RavensAllTheWay

      RavensAllTheWay

Why would it be an indication of us promoting Hostler? Wouldn't that be more likely had they not done any interviews with other candidates?

  12. Looks like we'll lose Caldwell. Time for the Principal(AKA Biscotti) to step in, over ride Harbs BFF choice for new OC and hire the right OC.

Well saying he puts friends before winning could be implied as though he isn't doing what's in the best interest for the team, which could then be implied as "ruining." All I'm saying is, every coach in the NFL except Jason Garrett (who has people forced down his throat by Jerry) hires people they are familiar with.

It's just the bandwagon that's going around right now. It's called "Harbaugh is ruining the team," and most people are jumping on it seems.

The NFL is about connections. Every coach brings in people they're familiar with onto their staff. Harbs isn't alone in that regard.

Every single time we make a personnel decision that people don't like, we accuse him of playing favorites. I mean EVERY SINGLE TIME. In a results-driven business, it's not like Harbs doesn't have results.

coordinators aren't the problem. We've had success with both of them before. We're not finished.

  17. So Harbs is keeping his inept buddies on his coaching staff. Yawn, nothing new here. If the Ravens miss the playoffs again next year and dont improve at all, then I will personally lead the Harbaugh must be fired group.

We did a hell of a lot more than run-run-deep throw. We used the middle and ran quick outs and slants WAY more than you give us credit for.

Caldwell had nothing to work with. That's my point. Neither did Flacco. The WRs were collectively bad, same with TEs and O line, and the RBs were banged up. Now don't be surprised when an offense like that puts up pitiful numbers. The fact that they didn't put up 30 points or 400 yards tells me they didn't have the potential. That's what Jim had to work with.

Maybe his buddies wouldn't look so inept if the 11 guys on the offense had the ability to score 30 points and take advantage of a least one favorable matchup on the schedule. Clearly they didn't.

  20. Thanks Flacco for putting a couple solid drives together with the help of officiating of course. The 64 QB rating and competion pct. was almost as ugly as the wounded duck interceptions. Here's hoping you play 60 Monday night.

The pick on the last drive should not have stood anyway. It should've been illegal contact not PI, but either way, negating it was correct.

Mind you, we're not the only team to cut Rainey this year. Someone else thought he was replaceable also (Browns).
