  1. Releasing Pitta with a post June 1st designation would be beneficial to the cap as a deferred cost. There are expenditures post June 1st that add up quickly, such as rookie contracts, and possible late season cuts added to the roster.
  2. Had to go away from the keyboard before I could finish my comment, but that had to be one of the most awesome moments in Johns life to play a blitz game against one of the top five chess players in the world! What an honor!
  3. interesting game, move 10. Nc3 left John with a backward pawn on c3, very difficult to defend. Is there a PGN of this game it would be cool to analyze the moves with a chess engine. John should play 3.d4. There is a lot more opening theory to learn, but with the Alapin white gives up any advantage.
  4. Clady is coming off of an ACL tear, a one year show me deal for Clady like Denver gave Okung could work. In this scenario Clady would compete with Monroe for the LT spot, and the club would not have to pick Clady up for 2017 unless they felt he was a better option than Monroe. Ferguson is 32 and has never missed a start. Ferguson would not come with a potential one year deal like Clady, but he might be a cheaper option overall and a solid backup to Monroe if Ferguson didn't win the LT spot outright. The idea is to add more depth or consistency at tackle, not to trade one poor situation for another. Also Pitta would be a better option as a June first cut to free up 6 mil.
  5. Get us a tackle Ozzie, Joe is coming off of injury, #protecttheman!
  6. Looks like the only chance he'd get legitimately to play LT is in Pittsburgh or possibly Denver if they move Clady over. Every other team that is interested in him would probably move him to RT. Okung has played in more games the last two seasons than Monroe. 14 in 2014 and 13 in 2015. There already seems to be about 4-5 teams in the mix so the market is probably too hot for the Ravens. Okung would compete with Monroe for the LT spot. The only reason the Ravens would have a shot at him is due to his injury. Some teams without a solid option at LT might not want to take a chance on a player who just had shoulder surgery, having Monroe would make signing Okung much less of a risk.
  7. Jack would not play OLB in a 34.
  8. Older and better, Nelson was arguably the best defender in the league in 2015. They also have Webb, who might be better suited at nickle than full time safety. All in all Webb at FS is not too shabby, although there are ??? as to how Webby will hold up vs the run.
  9. If the Ravens make a run at Okung it would have to be a show me deal. They would also have to keep Monroe, trading one oft injured OT for another isn't the best move. Okung might be able to be had for a song, and can play both sides of the offensive line.
  10. Reggie Nelson, please, and thank you.
  11. I'm with the folks who are for the Ravens keeping K.O.(Hurst as backup), and cutting their losses with Monroe.
  12. bioLarzen, wishful thinking is easier to swallow than harsh reality.
  13. Osemele is a very good player, but the Ravens have at least one player in the fold who can start at the position. The more prudent question is who do we keep, Osemele or Upshaw. There is also the possibility of signing a young edge rusher who is available in free agency, and let both Osemele and Upshaw walk.
