Castillo did do a good job and I can remember throwing a few jabs his way on this forum myself. He was and is the right guy for the O-line job.
I think he hasn't got many chance simply because of the level of play in front of him and that he can't contribute on ST. I think he could make an impact soon with Daryl aging.
Good point.....
I believe it was in the high 4.5-low 4.6 range at 227 lbs at the combine. Which means he is athletic enough to lose weight and play safety. Thing is, he would need to get around 220 lbs, while currently being at 235 lbs. While having no playing experience at safety. Just sounds like a bad idea to me.
Just a thought I figured it would be a long shot but it would be nice to get some return off of a 2nd round investment LOL..
If he is fast enough maybe he can convert to a big bodied saefty we still need some depth there LOL.....But seriously I dont know what his 40 time
was.
I would not mind trading up to get a true #1 WR with all the picks we have after you add the comp picks and I know we cant trade those picks but we still have a few picks that are not comp picks that we can trade. Then let him compete with Aiken and M.Brown for the starting position that way were not just giving the guy the starting nod it would be there for him to earn best man wins the starting positions. Crabtree would be OK if he can get back to form I also would not mind giving S.Holmes a look or Jennings the price would have to be right for the guy though.
I am just happy that as of now it looks like both BilliCHEAT and Brady look like they are going to be with the Patriots next season
no one is retiring because the Ravens have unfinished buisnes with the cheaters next season. I would just like it to be at M&T for a change. As far as the rule change I like it there has been a lot of valid points about it in this forum. The Patriots and Brady seem to get away with some things all the way back to the tuck rule when the Raiders got the shaft. Does it seem like a lot of the things the Patriots get away with seem to be during the post season?
If Elam does not fix it he wont be here or anywhere in the NFL for long well maybe the Raiders might look at him but last time I checked Tackling and good decision making is part of NFL 101.
There is absolutely no way they keep him if he doesn't do well. The Doss situation was very different from this one.
I agree we cant keep him if he does not do well and thats what my post said. I just hope Elam can turn it around and that would help the Ravens out with depth .. but the Ravens did in fact keep Doss and he flat out STUNK !!! This is what I was getting at by comparing the 2 situations. Right now as things go Elam stinks the first year he showed progress but last season he was a very weak link in the defense.
Is Matt Elam a bust? Hmm.. let's see. He can't tackle, he can't cover, he's confused about his assignments and he often overshoots or undershoots his point man. So, does that constitute a bust? Unless he miraculously turns into Ed Reed in his prime this year, I would safely say "YES"!
You just made good ,strong and factual points I just kinda hope he can turn it around but I dont want him on the team just cause we spent a 1st round draft pick on him if we have guys in training camp that out play him in camp and pre-season he needs to pack his S---!!! and leave...I just dont want them to keep him around like they did Doss...
Its hard to say the guy is an ABSOLUTE BUST but if his tackling and cover skills dont get any better
he should not be any where around our team. He was definitly a very WEAK LINK in the Ravens defense.
If the price was right I would not mind bringing back Ellerbe for depth that is if he is released.
It would be nice to get some cap room and work on the contracts of the players that are going to expire next year. Then we might be in better shape next season during this time of year.
I dont know if I would call him a bust just yet but if he does not learn to tackle or cover guys fast then he wont be in the NFL much longer for sure....I dont care how hard a guy works during practice it's during game day that it matters and Elam has not played like a first round pick and at times he has played at a lot lower level.
DB's please.
Welcome to the Ravens Brooks!!!
Can any one tell me does Rick Wagner stink or is it just that no one has really seen him play? I just dont understand why a lot of fans dont want to give the guy a legitimate shot for the RT spot.
Welcome to the Raven family T. Jernigan play like a Raven. Ball so hard university is your new home.
T. Jernigan welcome to the Ravens family. Whos' going to run up the middle on us now?
If Kouandjio falls to us and we take him, the Bama bashers will blow a gasket.
Good point and well put!!!
Oz knows football.
How many good veteran Safetys and O-lineman are going to be cut before the season even starts? Oz has a great track record of getting good veteran players after they get cut and at great prices.
I dont understand how anyone could be upset with the pick. Mosley has not even stepped onto the field wearing purple and black yet and people are judging him already. I wanted a Safety or O-lineman to be the pick but I am happy with Mosley because Oz and his staff know more about football and the Ravens than I do. These guys have watched film and talked to this young man in person. So I say wait to pass judgement and welcome in the newest member of the Raven family.
Oz knows B.P.A.-Best Player Available and Mosley is going to fit right in with what the Ravens do I just cant wait to see him wrap up Worthlessburger a few times and take him to the turf.
Welcome to the purple and black Mosley your now enrolled in the Ball so hard university play like a Raven and youll be just fine.
