I like the "CHIP ON HIS SHOULDER" a DB needs the swagger, attitude and his head on streight to play at this level and I think his attitude is right. Oz and Co. see something in him to pick him in the 4th round. Like I said its going to be fun watching all the young guys grow.
I dont know if it's right to label him a bust yet but I know Oz and Harbs have publicly challenged him to get better so that says something...If he does not get better and work on his tackling he wont be in the NFL for long.
The guys get to start soaking all the teaching in now.. Plus Oz and Co. signed most of the guys already too....
I like the joint practices. Real competition between 2 teams and not just inner-team competition helps players grow more I.M.H.O. they get to see more players in action and compete against guys they usually dont get to compete against except on game day.
I am happy to hear the event was a succes. Its good to help people in need out.
The one thing about the Ravens with Harbs and his coaching staff is the players get a real chance to compete even Rookies and undrafted rookies. Rookies have made a big impact on the team in the past and I truly believe some of them will again. It all boils down to how fast a Rookie can get comfortable with the speed of the NFL game and how fast they can take in the Ravens playbook and do the players take well to constructive criticisum and coaching by both the coaches and vets. I think we have enough tallent and leadership on this team to be back in the playoffs this year again. It is going to be very fun to watch both the offensive and defensive guys get at it. We have a lot of young guys playing and I expect to see some serious maturing from multiple players. Mosley is in his second year along with Jernigan both are going to see the bulk of snaps this year on the defensive side as well as Williams who has seen his fair share of snaps but the number of snaps is going to definitly increase. On offense where do I start? S.Smith SR is now in his 2nd year as a Raven and I know Flacco has a good comfort level with him. Gillmore and "Juice" showed some skills along with Aiken and Brown and Forsett Then add all the new fire power with the Rookies... WOW ITS GOING TO BE FUN TO WATCH FOR SURE..... GO RAVENS!!!
S.SmithSR is awesome... The young men would be very wise to listen and take to heart what he said...S.SmithSR is a true Raven leader...
With S.Smith SR leading the young WR group and Flacco throwing the ball it is going to be a very fun year indeed...
Now the great #20 can go into the ring of honor in the teams XX year.... Good move Reed....
I am very happy with the draft from the first pick to the ninth pick. Oz did a good job at filling the holes we had I.M.H.O.
How do you think the offensive and defensive depth charts are going to look for week 1 against the Broncos? I know it's still really early but we know who we drafted and I am just curious on what other Raven fans are thinking at this point....
I wish people would avoid trying to compare BP to Torrey. Is it really necessary? Why not just support our 1st round WR and see how he pans out when he hits the field.
A lot of people did the same complaining when we drafted Mosley last year, and look how that worked out. Seems Ozzie usually has a plan that surprises a few of us now and then.
Sure did I remember it like it was yesterday.... A lot of complaining going on these boards for sure. I wont judge any of our draft picks until they had a real chance to learn and compete at the NFL level.
I remember watching his father play and making a name for himself. Breshad, it's your time to make a name for yourself. Just go out and play hard and make the other teams try to figure out how to stop #18. Play like a Raven and with a chip on your shoulder.
I know this one very true FACT... Oz and his staff have watched and talked to the players drafted and their coaches more than I ever have or ever will. That being said I like what Oz and the front offices did in this years draft. I knew we needed some help at a few positions: WR, TE, DB, DL and OL some we just needed depth and some we needed true compitetion at the position and we also have some contracts comming due next season that we may not be able to extend. Oz and his crew picked up every one of these positions in the draft and added a few more threw undrafted rookie free agents. I give Oz and the Ravens staff an A because of these points I just made......
Looks like the Ravens are going to have a lot of guys to look at during camp. Not saying that in previous years they did not have a lot of guys to look at. I just want to get at least 1 guy that makes the team and is an impact player taken as a R.U.F.A.
I like that we got some big boddied WR"s.
Have you noticed how he spells his name with 2 X's? I like it because it is the same as our new 20 year logo and I have no idea who came up with the nick-name "Mad Maxx Williams" but I like it.......
There has been a few undrafted free agents that have made something of themseves in a Raven jersey. Priest Holmes, Marlon Brown, Hurst from last year and Ellerbe I believe all these guys were undrafted free agent who got their carrers started with the Ravens. It is a good place to start your career. Harbs lets the guys truly compete too.
If I knew Hill was staying long term I would not ming getting his shirt.
I just say give the guy a chance he is a proven OC in the NFL cant wait to see him play call our games and slowly add his wrinkles to the Raven play calling...
Agreed...but hopefully after June 1st, lol
Good point another comp pick .
I hope we work out a deal with TE Rob Housler...
We have to realize that improving the 2nd string QB position is not about getting a guy that will allow us to win a Super Bowl if Flacco goes down for the season. It is about giving us a chance to win if we have a stretch where Flacco goes out for a handful of games.
With a guy like Schaub, if Flacco is out for a few games, we can still get a couple wins and not fall out of the division/WC race. If we have Wenning, any game Flacco is out is virtually a guaranteed loss and all it would take is Joe being out for 3 or 4 games and we'll drop out of post-season contention.
Great post and very true this is what its all about an insurance policy so to speak. I would not really want the guy as a franchise QB but he can help out for a small stretch.
Flacco is the starter so "hate" on him from time to time is to be expected but to hate on his backup who'll never see the field? That's a different story.
I did not see the hate fans had for Tyrod except when Flacco had a doosy of a game and a few people said lets put Tyrod in the game. But I think I would classify that as more of a people getting upset that because Joe had a bad play or day some fans wanted Tyrod in the game when Flacco was and is the Ravens best shot at winning. I am very happy for Tyrod he will have a shot with a true open competition to try to win the starting job in Buffalo and thats something he would never get here in Baltimore because Flacco is very durable and not injured much at all thank God...

Very smart young man. I really like our O-Line I think compared to 2 years ago this is one area that Oz and Co. really improved on. The younger guys were put to the test and thrown in the fire last season and they really performed.
