Patriots
Steelers
Browns
Bengals
Colts
That's how I'd rank em, currently...
I miss the Tennessee rivalry, but whatcha gonna do... It will always be in the back of my mind when we play them but the hatred is gone.
Just my opinion but I think I would rank them 1. Steelers #1 rivalry for sure
2. Browns / Bengals
3. Bengals / Browns
Bengals and Brown can be inter-changable both AFC north opponents
4. Patriots Just because we always seem to meet them in the post-season
5. every other AFC team.
I picked Jernigan because he is penciled in as a starter right now and he is going to get on the field for a lot more snaps than he did last season. I want to see all these guys have a great season. It is just very hard to pick who is going to have a break out season. I think any WR could have a big year because the depth chart is not set in stone and we have so many young guys competing for playing time.
The secondary is definitly improved. If you take a look back to last year and start to remember how many guys the Ravens went through on the back end to compete last season that are still wearing purple and black and with the additions Oz and Co. have made this year it's going to be fun to watch them play this year. Last season Oz and Co. were litterally at the bottom of the barrel trying to get guys to come in at the CB position and compete and they did a really good job of doing it too. Patriots could not beat us without a few questionable / trick plays. The guys on the back end of the defense were being shuffled around more than a card deck in Vegas truth be told. Now Harbs has a few new additions to go along with the group and some of the guys like Rashaan Melvin is no longer a rookie being thrown into the fire he has big game experience a lot is going to come down to Jimmy and Webb getting healthy and back to form but if they do I think the secondary is more of a strength of this team than a weakness.
It is hard to accuratly predict how a season is going to turn out for any team. At the risk of sounding like a total homer I have always thought the Ravens were a top tier team after J.Flacco was drafted and we saw what he did the first season. We have never been a media favorite but since he has been here we have made the playoffs every year except 1. We all know when you get a ticket to play in the post season you have a shot at winning it all. Just my opinion but I think the AFC north is the toughest division in the NFL.
I am just really excited about this year. I think it is going to be a special year for the Ravens...
we will see a much improved matt elam this season
I really hope your right "Greek". It would be a waste of a high draft pick if he does not work on his tackling skills and seriously improve his whole game. He will get plenty of practice tackling on special teams because I would be SHOCKED if he gets much playing time with Hill and Lewis starting....
I just cant wait to see all the guys both veterans and rookies get on the field together and start practicing. We all know veteran players coach up the rookies even sometimes more than coaches do.
The only reason they view us as a rival and generally dislike us is because (correct me if I'm wrong) we're the only team in the Brady era to go into Gillette and beat them in the playoffs and we always play them close. They way our teams are designed, we are the perfect team to beat them and each game either ends on controversy or comes down to one crucial play. I went to school in the New England area and I can tell you the only team they hate more is the Giants. The fans are errogant and don't respect the rest of their divison because they usually beat them
Just my 2 cents but in my opinion I dont believe you need to be corrected at all you hit it square on the head.
Welcome home. Your going to like to be on the right side of the rivalry Kyle it's better wearing purple and black.
Guy says............ Nestor Aparicio One day, #Ravens fans will appreciate the genius of Ozzie Newsome... Most Raven fans really appreciate Oz when it comes to Raven football we "TRUST IN OZ".....
I think that even if he's a good slot CB, then that's fine. I'm okay with him in the slot. He's fine there. It's just outside where he struggles. He lets the WR control the route and you can't do that as a CB, but especially not outside. I have faith he'll be a good slot CB though. I just don't feel too good about him outside the numbers.
One good thing is he can tackle. That's a start, right? Nothing upsets me more than defensive players that can't tackle.
Like I said I have not watched enough game film on him to give an honest assesment but you are not the only one talking about him on the outside. I just think he will be better in Baltimore than he was in New England we have that swag thing going for us.. You sure are right about the tackling aspect though. I believe we are definitly a better team than we were 24 hours ago.
I really like the move as long as he stays in the slot or we coach the Hell out of him and improve him on the outside. The games I saw with him last year as an outside CB were very bad. Hopefully he doesn't need to play outside, though.
I actually really like the move. If he plays well in the slot, like he's expected, then we aren't hand cuffed to keeping Webb if he continues to look poor. Hopefully that's not the case and we have our own legion of boom.
Ya... I have not watched enough film on Arrington playing on the outside but I do remember how bad Flacco was eating them up on the outside last year S.Smith SR made their best DB look like a chump a few times in that game. Revis was way over-rated as far as Arrington goes this is a new begining for him and he probabbly has a chip on his shoulder now plus the Ravens play as a team and players get better here than most places because of the way we concentrate on a players strengths and let them play to their strengths. Think about all the studs who played with the Ravens then left and never delivered like they did when they were wearing the purple and black. For example Adalias Thomas stud as a Raven as a Patriot average player. I guess What I am trying to say "Grim" is he will probabbly be a better player as a Raven.
All I know is our secondary just got better than it was 24 hours ago. Pats fans are pretty upset / Jelous if you read it on NFL.com because they are saying how bad Arrington is and how good the other Patriot players were just shows you how mad they were that he did not have a chance to go back at a reduced salary like so many writers were saying was going to happen. He will be better in purple and black because our team makes players better.
I hope both Aiken and Brown have monster years....
Whooooooooo!!!!Welcome to Baltimore Arrington....
Tackling 101 is where it's at Elam. It's all on your shoulders to prove wether or not you belong on this team.
Oz always has picked up good players late and I expect the same thing this year. It could be a big name guy or someone not many people have heard of but they will have a real chance to contribute if they are brought in.
Double J is a Raven. He played like a Raven. I am just happy he is retiring a Raven.
some of these guys could end up back on the team or maybe even on the practice squad. Its so early now anything is possible.
May the best guys get the Jobs available and make the 53 man roster.....
Brady should be punished. Remember the comment from him to the Ravens about learning the NFL rules? I just want to see him again this post-season but I would prefere it at M&T stadium we have some unfinished buisnes.
Obviously I have not been to camp but I am telling the truth when I say I am very excited with this years group of new guys both Drafted and undrafted rookies. This big guy Waller could be a red-zone target for sure. I just cant wait to watch these guys this pre-season and the ones who make it this season. This could be a very hard year for Harbs and his staff to get the roster down to 53 and a practice squad but thats a good thing for the Ravens.
I like the underdog. Because if they make it you know they have heart and drive. Just look at Forsett delt rough hand after rough hand but never gave up guy is just awesome.
I would not mind Kyle Arrington playing in Purple and Black. I just wonder what type of $ would be needed to get him and how much do we have left.

Well Buck, as long as you hold onto the ball and keep your legs churnning and listen to the coaches and veterans as they help you hone your skills your going to be just fine. Just play like a Raven and run with power and pride.
