I hope the #74 pick delivers for us.

Please NO!!! I really hope that's not Oz's plan moving forward.
2 minutes ago, BOLDnPurPnBlacK said:What if say... a guy like Elflein is available at 74 and wouldn't have been at 99 and moving Jernigan is the difference between us landing a franchise C for the next 10 years or picking a backup CB or something.
This move will be judged on how Pierce/Henry play and what we get at 74. Period.
I can agree with your statement. I don' really like the swapping of picks but it does move us up to have more players available to us.
YES!!!YES!!! YES!!! it will be judged on how well Pierce and Henry play.
Well 1 bonus is our younger DL are going to get to compete for more snaps. But it's only a positive if they play better than Jernigan.
Well if I am not mistaken that's 2 guys this year Oz and the front office has made moves like this with Zuttah and now Jernigan.
Didn't we give the 9ers Zuttah and swap pick with them too?
I am sure Oz has a plan I just hope it works.
So our comp pick will come 25 picks prior to where we would have selected.
How much money do we save?
Just now, jdynamite said:I would like it more if it was Timmy traded for the 74th pick straight up.
totally agree this moving up crap just has me concerned kind of.

4 hours ago, RayRayRaven said:firs off that the sprecher root beer raven and the color aint gold its yella. second off doan think the steelars are a good team and comparin where we are cuz weddle and mosley couldn't stop a 145 lb receiva at the goal line is not a benchmarc for how close we are. the benchmarc is facin a bengels team that had their entire ofense out and bein unable to show up
bac to the steelars if big has ben retire they arent much at all but if he stays and that substance receiva come back and you know who I talkin about u relly think we gonna finish ahead of em?

doan think it will be corea cuz he was ineffect on the edge and doan think he has nfl kalibar football sense or good instincs
doan think it will be max willams cuz catchin a ball is natural or is not max is a tweener right now. as far as TEs go guessin wallar rises most but doan think he is ready to score 10 tds either
kafusi is an unknow and he wasnt on my board last yr so cant say but doan expect much surpris me
jerigan nah little more than trad bait
branden willams gonna have a lot of pressur and jus doan feel it any more than already have
jeffersen is a tackler but doan think he gonna make anyone forget ed reed and weddle is a good tackler to its just coverage where we still have issu
car fits in with the the safetys jus above
stanly missed a mess of games he wasnt bad realy wasnt but this is the tellin yr is he solid and healthy well see
some are sayin like in the womans colome here we are back tops in the AFC north. I think 8-8 wuld be overachevin
I like your picture and how it just so happens to be Black and Gold any reason for that RayRay? Just curious Did you know the Steelers wear Black and Gold? Just coincidence huh?
Correa or Perriman I hope both but I think one could have a break out year. Both guys are in a position of need on the roster with more plays on the field each guy has a real chance to shine. That being said with Sizzle getting older and Doom gone a OLB guy could really have a break out year. I know this is about 2 / 3 year guys but Rookies could have a break out year because I think at a lot of these positions there is going to be some open competition at least that's what I am hoping for.
Bottom line is it's all in Perriman's hands. If he is productive then he gets more chances if he squanders the chances he gets then it could label him a bust. Either way it is going to label him and impact where he is going forward with his career.
Joe needs to do more because he is the QB. That being said when a ball hits the WR/TE/RB in the hands he has to catch it that's what he is getting paid to do.
Joe has out played Tom Brady on more than 1 occasion and the Ravens have still come away with a loss. It is a team sport but I am expecting more from Flacco. He has got to play like post-season Flacco through out the season and into post season. I am expecting lots from Wallace and Perriman as well they need to bring it if we are to go back to the playoffs.
It can be done but the play making needs to improve along with the play calling
Yanda just needs to get 100% totally healthy before he attempts anyhing on the field. I am happy to hear he is going to be taking his time.
2 minutes ago, BOLDnPurPnBlacK said:I don't like the idea as is because you could just tackle a WR any time you're about the give up a huge completion. Take the 15 yd flag over the 60 yd completion.
This is theory changes that where if it's obviously done on purpose to prevent the big completion the penalty is implemented at the spot of the foul.
Only problem with that is now we're relying on refs in the heat of the moment to determine intent. More judgement calls for refs is never a good thing imo.
2 different versions with an incidental and a nonincidental with the nonincidental being the 15. would fix that and everything is left in the refs hands every single game. Remember the AFC champioship game Patriots Raiders and the Tuck rule? SUCKED TO BE A RAIDERS FAN I'D BET.
4 minutes ago, BOLDnPurPnBlacK said:I wouldn't.
Why not then any time the DB thinks he's giving up a huge completion just haul the WR down?

2 minutes ago, Adreme said:I mean basically in the NFL under this rule anytime you are about to give up a pass of 15 yards or more you are basically going to do all but tackle your guy to the ground. The thing about college is the WR and QBs are worse so to a reasonable degree there will be mistakes but in the NFL its a disaster waiting to happen.

This just answered the top 2 guys concerns well put Willbacker.
it is just more fair.

6 minutes ago, RayRayRaven said:maybe but u doan get playmakers in the 4th round. that the problem
Jared Allen, Charles Haley, Steve Largent, Darren Sproles,John Stallworth and Rich Gannon all were selected in the 4th round
Larry Centers, KGB, Rodney Harrison, Robert Mathis, Hardy Nickerson, Zach Thomas and Herschel Walker all were selected in the 5th round
Tom Brady, Terrell Davis, Jay Novacek and Adalius Thomas were all selectd in the 6th round
Marques Colston, Donold Driver, TJ Housmandzadeh, Michael McCrary and Shannon Sharpe all selected in the 7th round
Players and playmakers are out there they just got to find them.
39 minutes ago, rossihunter2 said:My point is more that if he plays well enough that we can't keep him then we likely get a good pick which means he probably was worth keeping for the year and if he doesn't play well then he's more likely to be affordable to maybe re-sign / he wouldn't be worth re-signing anyway
he either plays well enough for a pick or he's cheap - either of those options are better to me than picking up a late 4th (at best) for him - there's no way he's going to win us a better pick than a 4th going into his final year
But a late 4th round pick is what Oz does best but either way we have no control on what happens.
I would like to see the NFL pass interference rules changed to like how the colleges rules are implemented. 15 yards and a first down sounds good to me.
1 minute ago, rossihunter2 said:But if he plays his way out of Baltimore this coming year then we likely get a 3rd/4th round comp pick for him anyway...
very true but comp picks are no guarantee. Personally I would like to Jernigan but he is going to want top $ and I cant blame him for that.
