  1. Both Weddle and Wallace played an important part on this team and earned the money they were paid. Weddle is a sure tackler who is also a leader. I personally would like Oz to get someone to play along side him who would compliment him better than Webb did. Wallace can still run and catch and we saw him catch balls over the middle of the field at times this season not just going deep. I believe Wallace can be a reliable #2 WR and Perriman a #3 who's still developing for the Ravens next year. That being said we need a true #1 WR preferably a rookie or a younger vet still in his prime. West and Dixon both ran the ball hard and played hard nosed lunch box football and both complimented eachother well and were worth the money they got. The Ravens need to sure-up the O-line and get younger guys who can compliment Yanda ,Stanley ,Lewis and Wagner all of whom showed they can play at this level. Stanley and Lewis are no longer rookies and showed improvement as their rookie season went along. So Oz has got to get a true #1WR , build up the O-line to give Flacco time to run the offense and open holes for Dixon and West. Oz has also got to get more playmakers for the secondary and pass rushers. The coaches have got to call a sensible game. RAVENS WIN!!!
  2. Welcome aboard coach Roman time to get to work.
  3. I agree with your post and I really hope your right and the Ravens really improve I love my Ravens. That being said I will not tell my self fibs. We do need some serious improvement across the whole team. from coaches play calling to QB play and all the way to special teams play. I am all for giving Marty a true chance. However as we both know a lot of this falls on Oz and his staffs shoulders as far as players to keep, draft and bring in to the Raven family. This team showed some flashes but at the same time they need some serious work and losing a leader like SSS is a BIG BIG BIG hole to fill. I agree too it is a true statement that @BOLDnPurPnBlacK made
  4. I concur I don't know who or what the people who thought differently about SSS retiring were listening to.
  5. I like your points but if I am not mistaken the 2-14 point leads was in a playoff game right or wrong? Joe plays big in the post season and that's what he needs to find a way to do that in the regular season. Like I said I am a Flacco fan you can check out my previous posts I want him to succeed but he needs to find a way to be January Joe from September to January and hopefully into February. we definitelty do need a true #1 WR for Joe you are right about that and that is on Oz and the scouts. I do agree with your points ravensdfan.
  6. I like Joe but to be totally honest Joe has not played up to the level for the amount of money he is getting paid with exception of the playoffs he has out played Brady, Rothlesburger and P. Manning during the playoffs. However during the regular season most of the time Joe is just average. I can remember a few regular season games Joe was AWESOME but only a couple against the Bucs I believe 2 seasons ago I think Joe had 5 TD's and against the Steelers a few seasons ago with C.Cameron as OC. I know other people on these boards might think of other games that he played at an awesome level in the regular season but for the amount of money he is getting honestly thats not enough games for his amount of pay. If Joe gets time he can play at a high level but part of getting paid at the level he is getting paid he has to be able to make things happen when its tough sledding on the field. Like I said I am a Flacco fan but it's time for him to play at the level he is getting paid. Just being honest.
  7. Thats what I heard but as all of us on these boards know until it happens it is only rumor.
  8. I would love to bring Zorn back because him and Flacco seemed to work good together but you made a great point with your post.
  9. Keep: Pitta: Joe has continuity with him Wallace: Proved he can still play had over 1000 yards with Joe throwing to him. Keep if price is right: Dummervil: if totally healthy can still be disruptive Cut and save / get younger talent: Webb: Secondary needs an up-grade to compliment Weddle. Wright: Too many times watching him get burnt Zuttah: Time to get younger and stronger Watson: We have enough TE's Arrington : I think it would not be hard for Oz to find a better tallent for less $ Lewis Younger tallent can be had at a more cap friendly price.
  10. Great post..... We need CB's,OL,WR and legit pass rushers before any RB. Dixon and West are our RB's for at least next year maybe even longer depending on injuries. Great post and well put.

  12. Surround Joe with talent that is a great idea. We just lost SSS probably the most vocal leader on the offensive side of the ball. That in it self is going to be very hard to replace. We definitely need a true #1 WR . I believe Wallace and Perriman can be a #2 and #3. We also need O-line help big guys who can run-block as well as pass block. On the defensive side we need DB help someone who can actually compliment Weddle in the middle and serious depth on the outside guys who can cover and be left on an island with WR's. We also need a serious pass rusher who can be a vocal leader when Sizzle hangs his cleats up. Coaching staff we need them to be smart about play calling and make game plans that give our guys a chance to win.
  13. I think what he said was fair. However the coordinators both offensively and defensively need to get their stuff together when play calling next season since they are sticking around another season.
  14. Stanley, Lewis and Young all were worth the pick along with Dixon he looked good as well. All of them played really well and it will be fun to watch them next season as they grow from rookies to vets.
  15. I agree with the what you want and what you think part your so right. I know your not trying to say keep Elam your just trying to keep it real but if Oz cant find anyone out there to fill that roster spot with just a touch more skill or potential we are in for a world of hurt. Elam Stinks at the NFL level PERIOD!!!
  16. A true #1 WR in the NFL causes teams to roll the coverage his way or gets double teamed on most plays. Perriman has got a long way to go to get to that point. Now just so we are on the same page Perriman can be a #1 NFL WR it's all on him to do it though. As far as your comparison AB is a true #1 WR now but not at the 3rd year those numbers just don't add up. A true #1 WR can carry the team and makes catches during critical moments of the game and that means having both feet down inbounds with total control of the ball. To be a true #1 WR Perriman has got a long ways to go. Maybe he makes that jump this off season but it's a very wide canyon not a crack in the sidewalk. We have had plenty of WR;'s in Baltimore and plenty of open challenges for the #1 guy but it only seemed like the free agents Oz brought in or the guy he traded for was willing to step up and take the job when they were open. 3 years is a long ways to go thats just a little less than 1/3 of a 10 year career in the NFL.
  17. Its just SAD they are willing to make the tough decisions when it's dealing with players who actually count against the cap but not coaches where there is absolutely no penalty for getting rid of them.
  18. I hope these 2 were the right ones to part ways with and not just scapegoats. Personally I think 2 different coaches further up the food-chain should have been let go but that's just my opinion. If we win the Super Bowl with these coaches that's about the only thing I can see as of right now to change my opinion.
  19. Lets get it straight " Perriman has a long ways to go" to be a true #1 WR n the NFL anyone that does not see that is either delusional and flat out drinking the purple kool-aid or just not very smart. Lets be clear I am not saying he cant be a #1 NFL WR but he has got a lot of work to do to get to that point.
  20. God I hope not! I am willing to give Williams a little more of a chance just like we did for Elam but Elam was a straight-up 1ST ROUND BUST!!!
  21. I understand that. My point was we watch them get consistently burned for 1st downs all the time. I guess it might be time to get guys who can earn their money and press cover.
  22. Does this mean that in the middle of the season they will be switching coordinators again?
  23. How many times have we seen it? I mean if its 3rd and 6 our CB's are playing off at least 8-10 yards
  24. Joe does need to make some more plays. The biggest thing Joe needs to work on in my opinion is pocket awareness and his accuracy throwing the ball. at times he sits in the pocket too long waiting for something to happen down field then gets hit or swarmed by defensive guys. Is that all on Joe? I think it's 60% Joe's fault because he has to be aware of when to throw, Run or just throw it away and live to play for the next down. It's 40% WR's / TE's/ RB's fault for not making something happen in getting seperation and sometimes when it hits them square in the chest they drop it any way. Some of Joe's throws are behind the guys thats on him and honestly he does not hit the guys in stride as much as he should.
  25. Both offensive and defensive needs a makeover The defense played pretty good most of the season but I am so tired of watching the game and not being able to see the CB's on the TV screen because they are playing so far off the WR's
