  1. I just want the best 53 guys on the active roster. I also want the best guys of the 53 men starting at each position. If the starter is a rookie and he earned it then so-be-it.
  2. I really hope Elam proves people including myself wrong he would just be another piece to the puzzle. But I just want to see it for myself before I believe. Right now I am very happy with Hill and Lewis.
  3. Did'nt Goddell show up at Gellett stadium when the Ravens played the Patriots with a Patriots hat on?
  4. Well the bottom line and most important stat line is the Win / Loss stat. We all know where Flacco stacks up on that stat compared to the other QB's exspecialy in the post season. A lot of the QB's mentioned as supposedly better than Flacco cant even match up in the Win / Loss stat colume with Flacco such as P.Manning, Luck, Romo, Rivers and Newton just dont measure up when it coes down to winning in the post season Wilson is a game manager at very best wih a great defense. Brady well cheating to get the win just does not count. Note to Brady you just might want to study the NFL rule book during your suspension. Wich we wont know if it is going to be the original 4 game suspension or if they reduce it after all your crying about it. My point is Flacco has missed the post season just 1 time since he came into the league and he has been very good at winning on the road in hostile enviroments. Win Loss colume is the most important stat and winning in the post season is even more important. Just ask Brady and the Patriots who had the better season when they went a perfect 16 / 0 in the regular season only to get beaten in the Super Bowl by the Giants. The Giants had the better season and have the rings to prove it too.
  5. Who would you rather have at QB during the post season besides our Flacco?
  6. Ya I understand that but like I told him is Yanda has always played a good game as Oher was very average at best and fans and coaches alike seem to be more forgiving when a great player messes up but an average player things get magnified. And no I never thought he was saying Oher was better than Yanda.
  7. Tru11 I understand what your saying. However people coaches and fans alike are more forgiving when a guy has a great overall body of work. Yanda has been a o-line king stud for years and Oher was average at best and sometimes less than average thus the false starts were magnafied. My question is Who would you rather have wearing purple and black Yanda or Oher? It's the same as Gradkowski and Zuttah at center were you happier with Gradkowski or Zuttah?
  8. I like what were hearing. mostly from veteran players. It is still very early but this team looks very promising on all fronts.
  9. If Yanda is protecting Joe thats what he is paid to do and he is 1 of the top protecters in the NFL and believe me Yanda will be paid a nice pay check. No its not ok to get false starts but Yanda makes up for it with his over-all play he is a pro-bowl caliber player and Oher is a average player who gets a lot of false starts and allows the QB to be sacked and pressured sometimes not even getting a hand on the defender. No comparison between Yanda and Oher. Even the false start stats argument hold little to no meaning when you look at their over all career perfomances. Who would you rather have on the o-line protecting Joe Yanda or Oher?
  10. Ya I can see your point. The difference between Yanda and Oher is Yanda protects the QB better.....
  11. I always pick Joe but I am a self admitted HOMMER. Montana was money Kelly was really good until he stepped foot on the turff for the Super Bowl 4 streight apperances and 4 streight losses I dont think it's fair to blame just Kelly but thats how the NFL works. Aikman and Young were both pretty good too in clutch moments.
  12. I will have to see Matt Elam play this pre-season with pads on before I pass any more judgement as far as the media goes I just dont trust ANYTHING they say even sports media sometimes tries to sell a load of manure to the fans..... Everything the media and coaches are trying to sell right now is Elam is having the best camp ever and he is just tearing up the field. I say whatever when I see it with the pads on and against another jersey color I will believe it.
  13. I see your point however why not use a guy who can catch and run and is not so high up on the depth chart? For instance if you were to lose Webb because of a injury due to him playing DB so be it however him injuring himself on a kickoff return now you just lost a starting DB for a yard or two more on a kickoff return. It makes no sense when you have a guy like for example Carter or Campanaro if healthy returning kicks. When we lost J. Jones it stunk but he never was a great WR he was a ok WR at best and it was like us losing our #3 WR we still had guys who could step in and do the job as a #3 WR and with little to no drop off in WR production compared to having J.Jones on the field. Webb is a decent DB when he is healthy but at best an average kick returner when stacked up against the other competition.
  14. I just would prefer it not being Webb he needs to try to stay healthy for the season.
  15. I want to see what this team can do if Webb and J.Smith can stay healthy all year long.
  16. Great post I absolutly love the reasons you gave. I totally agree.
  17. I hope Webb does not return punts. We need him healthy and playing DB. They need to find a young guy who is skilled at catching and running and give him the job.
  18. Doom is awesome. I am so happy he is a Raven...
  19. Good point. I am in the camp of thinking T.Smith could have adjusted better to the ball and at very least became a defender.
  20. I like the idea of keeping the guys as fresh as possible and it could end up paying off come January and February.
  21. Great to hear. I am happy for Butler I expect this article and the others seeing him perform that well might get the WR's competitive juices flowing even more. It is going to be a fun competetion to watch develope for sure. It could end up being a hell of a hard choice for the coaches to get down to the final 53 guys.
  22. Perriman is going to be just fine. This is the time for him to make mistakes and then he has plenty of time to correct and learn from his mistakes.
  23. Rice was not himself stat-wise his last year he played with us his stats were down and he just looked slow and punchy at best that could be a factor in teams showing no interest in him granted he was hurt that year. Plus I dont remember him showing up to the first ever veteran combine to try to help himself out a lot of other veterans showed up and participated in front of scouts and represenitives from most or all the NFL teams that were on hand to see what the veterans looking for an NFL home had left in the tank. I believe he deserves another chance but I am tired of hearing about him he is eating up 9 MILLION DOLLARS of our cap space for making a very stupid mistake. So he is still hurting our Ravens as far as I am concerned. Wish him the best I am just happy it wont be in Raven purple and black.
  24. Gilmore is at the top of the depth chart right now because Pitta's playing time is in question as of right now and Mad Maxx is learning the plays but I seriously expect big things out of all the guys who play this season.
  25. I hope our rookies all watch how SSS practices and preps for games. It has worked for him for all those years. SSS is a Raven and he plays with intensity and passion. I would also like to see R.Lewis and E.Reed become assistant coaches on game film study for the rookies pay both of them to teach the rookies how to watch and study game film that would be some of the best money Biscotti could spend.
