  1. I don't understand your logic here. I'm not saying Jesen needs to be blamed for Hurst sucking. My point was the left side of our line was the biggest liability in this game. The raiders got pressure regularly on that side. Jensen did get beat multiple times and his penalties really hurt us. His false start killed a drive and his hold wiped out a first down. Additionally the subsequent punt is the one that got returned to our 6 yard line and turned into a touchdown the next play. A first down likely changes that entire sequence of events. Jensen has been here a heck of a lot longer than Lewis so your point about being given opportunity doesn't resonate with me. I'm sure if Jensen would have shown high capability then we wouldn't being playing a 4th round draft pick. The raiders have one of the weaker DT combos in the league. It was a real talking point in alot of the stuff I was reading and hearing on sat radio. Even with that Jensen allowed pressure up the middle. The edge rush is more on Hurst than anybody since he protects the blind side but we all know Hurst isn't great. He's the reason Flacco needed acl surgery. I'm more interested in seeing how Alex does against higher level DT's. Jensen has had his time to prove himself.
  2. Our slow starts are going to be the death of us. I'm not happy with either the 2 point conversion and 15 yard penalty decisions. Harbiagh tends to chase points to early and that 15 yard penalty wasn't going to make their field goal much harder. I don't think the Raiders go for on 4th down if we decline the penalty which was on a tackle for loss mind you. Maybe I'm singling out Jensen a little unfairly but his mistakes were pretty darn costly. Both of his holding penalties nullified good gains and one nullified a first down on an eventual 3 and out deep in our end. If I remember correctly it was the drive right before we gave up that punt return to the 6.
  3. I just don't see much similarity in our running game as when Kubiak was here and we were running the stretch play alot. Maybe they modified it some but my understanding of zone is that the running back has a choice of holes and the real goal is the cut back lane. The runs I seeing this year seem to have a predefined destination that the runner is going to. I don't think I've seen a cut back run at all this year. I'm not trying to single you out on Jensen, my point in the post is similar to alot of other situations in that people call for the backup way to quick. I think it's obvious that Lewis has way more upside and that's why he is playing.
  4. Actually, I did play football. Offensive line and tight end. Go back to 2014 if you want to see a pure zone scheme. We were running stretch plays left and right. With the rule changes this off season the cut block is no longer allowed meaning the crux of the zone scheme is now nerfed. How many stretch plays have we run? Even if your logic on zone held up your reasoning on Jensen being a better fit just doesn't add up. The penalties and pressure Jensen gave up far outweigh anything he did in the running game.
  5. Seriously? You think we are running a zone scheme. Do you watch football? You made my point for me. How can you say Jensen is so much better when they aren't even running behind him?
  6. I think you may be giving Jensen more credit than he is due for the running game. 1. We ran more to the right than we did the left. 2. West's biggest runs were to the right of center 3. We pass more than we run so pass blocking comes in more often 4. West is better than Forsett 5. Raiders dline is weak I want to see what happens with stanley and lewis when west and dixon play rb.
  7. That qoute wasn't meant for hurst and jesen alone. We have made a number of mistakes in every game. It just so happens that we made a couple more than normal in this game. Between the penalties, drops, giving oakland short field twice, and bad coach decisions it was bound to bite some time.
  8. I was curious why Judon was down for this game. Doom admitted he was rusty which doesn't help. We had next to nothing for pressure on Carr, even with a 3rd string RT playing on their side.
  9. I know Zuttah has been much maligned but he actually graded out fairly well in this game.
  10. According to PFF Hurst and Jensen gave up 11 sacks\pressures and accounted for 3 penalties. That is simply unacceptable. Losing this game is going to come back and bite us come wild card time. This team is its own worst enemy at times.
  11. I think a lack of real pass rush exposes us.
  12. Moore on offense and Weddle on defense. I'd like to say Perriman but he just drops too many passes for me to be comfortable.
  13. Have confidence in Jimmy, feeling iffy on Wright in this matchup.
  14. Good- End of half\game offense. Came through with points both times Justin Tucker Field goal block team winning ugly defense, If you told me before the game that we'd give up 17 points I would have taken it. We forced turnovers and limited damage on our own. Bad- offensive line, pretty much everybody Justin Forsett, he doesn't have his normal burst and agility. We need Dixon pronto Devin Hester, let that thing go man Pass rush needs to hit home more. Too many plays where we get pressure but still give up a positive play Awful- Turnovers Lack of in game adjustments on offense. The Jags figured out we were targeting their linebackers and adjusted accordingly. We should have adjusted too. Non rb's having half our rushing yards. Does any other team do more end arounds then us?
  15. I voted to pick stanley anyway. The fact that no team picked up Monroe says alot. Our OL would be alot weaker without stanley. Our corners are holding up ok.
  16. I wasn't happy with the way Jimmy got stiff arm beasted but Wright was clearly worse in coverage. Not only that but he missed a couple of big tackles on the 85 yard td run and late in the game with a WR getting out of bounds. If anything lets talk about Wright getting replaced but with whom?
  17. Do you think Aiken is the right player for the slot? I would think SSR is better in the slot and Aiken outside.
  18. He had a chance but let Joe Haden get better body position on one of his ints.
  19. Your right, I have it backwards. The long play to coleman was wright plus a saftey late. The stiff arm was on jimmy. You are also right on the running play weddle didn't whiff but wasn't near the play either.
  20. We really need doom back for this game. We are going to need all the pass rush we can get. Getting Dixon back will help us too. Im not happy with Forsetts play either. West is playing better but can't seem to catch passes. Curious why Buck has been down both games. Jags can be exposed in the passing game.
  21. Good- Mike Wallace, Dennis Pitta, Justin Tucker, ST in general, getting 2 ints, keeping penalties to a minimum, pass rush Bad- Joe Flacco ints, the first was a throw he knew he was making before the ball was even snapped. He barely looked anywhere else and Haden jumped it. The second one was a total jump ball that he underthrew and he had a rb wide open in the flat for an easy 10 yards. The defense in general in the first quarter, we really made the browns look like world beaters. Not going to cut it against a much better team in the Jags coming up Chris Moore's dropped TD pass Terrence West dropping 2 easy passes, both of which killed drives. Look for the ball man............. Marshal Yanda getting blown up by Joe Haden to stuff a run play Alex Lewis whiffing on a block and a rb sreen pass going for a loss The running game in general, can we please stop the shotgun handoffs, they aren't working using timeouts to quickly in the second half Ugly- The browns after the first quarter, it just seemed like they took their foot off the peddle. We can't count on opponents laying down and dying like the browns did. We got lucky, not often you come back from 20 down and win, especially against good teams. Is it just me or is anyone else tired of John Harbaugh being overly agressive early in games and taking points off the board? Another 4th down botch in plus territory that flushed a potential 3 points down the tube at a time when our offense sucked and 75 percent or more of the game left. If we lost by 3 points or less people would be making a much bigger deal out of it.
  22. I have to put more on the players than Pees. The gameplan really didn't change through out the game, our guys just played better. The long TD to Coleman came over top Jimmy and Coleman was out of bounds anyway so in reality it should not have counted. I do think Jimmy gets star treatment to a certain degree around here but he does get beat more than a "star" cb should. I think we underestimated Coleman..... The long TD run was just getting out schemed/played. Hue Jackson always gets us when we face him whether with the bengals or browns. The long run came off a formation where we were shaded right and they ran left. They pulled so they had a hat on a hat up until the second level then weddle and webb both whiffed on a tackle. Somebody has to beat a 1-1 block or weddle or webb need to man up and make an open field tackle. Other than that run not much else on the ground so we must have tightened up. The second coleman td was shareece wright flat out getting beasted. He was giving 8-9 yards on a play at the 12 yard line and gets stiff armed at the 7 on a smoke screen basically. The play calling at the end I understand completely. The situation is to not give up anything long as the browns needed a td. Everything executed well except the pryor pass and the fortunate taunting penalty. Otherwise we forced them into checkdowns which ran over 2 minutes off the clock. It worked.....
  23. He was coming on strong at the end of last season, lets hope he can build off that.
  24. We got wallace and drafted 2 guys for a reason.
  25. Competition is never a bad thing.
