Dear John, Let me start by saying that I am not an expert of the game of NFL football, however I am a person who believes he has a great amount of “common” sense, who is also a die-hard Ravens fan. I am regularly frustrated by out team's lack of urgency, especially when the margin of victory is within a touchdown's worth of points. You see, every team we play is out to BEAT us at all costs. Whenever I see the Ravens trying to run out the clock, whether it's to close-out a half, or towards the end of the game when we are just up by a few points (or as in today's case ONE) I only can think about how the opposing team's drive to beat us is much more powerful than our diminished team’s ability to survive the inevitable. Our regular propensity to be lackadaisical, and/or "run the clock down" shows that we don’t have the same voracity to beat our opponents. This is a coaching issue, not on any individual player. Every second of valuable clock time should be an opportunity to add to our score, not to simply delay our slow decent to defeat by inept mistakes and horrible game time management. While I have been, and will continue to be patient as out young players mature and our injured players heal, it seems I will continue to remain astounded by our teams ability to continue to keep the gas peddle down to insure the maximum amount of points to lead us to victory. While this team is finding it's way, and maybe even beyond, please consider pushing for points every second of the game within reason. Sincerely and respectfully yours, Chris, a huge fan in Virginia (with commons sense) PS. Thank you for the Pita decision. Seeing Joe distracted on the sideline, joking with his pal every time the network cuts to him, always infuriated me. Now, maybe you can have someone administer constructive in-game strategies with him while the game is tight.
