The one comment about indications of this (injury prone) before he was drafted was interesting. The truth is that players don't go through the rigorous weight training in college that they are put through in the NFL. They don't have the time. The NFL is a different ballgame. Breshad may not be able to take it. The training can be tougher than the game. It's a shame we may never get to see his talent. Tendon strength is god given. Pumping iron doesn't change it.
It would surprise me if Pitta ever returned and doesn't re-injure himself after such serious hip bone breaks. He should be more concerned about the quality of life after football now that it is over. He won a ring and has nothing more to prove. Joe will find new friends to throw to. Max Williams will step it up now that his rookie days are over,
Look at 2014. If our starting secondary had been intact instead of being devistated with injuries we would have likely been in Super Bowl 49. Get the positions we need filled and try to stay healthy. In 2012 we were healthy for the playoffs. It matters tremendously. BTW, I'm not sold on our OC yet either. Trestman has yet to prove himself IMO.
Ozzie should spend some on OT's and DB's. We have a QB who needs protection and a secondary that needs another experienced player. The Ravens are real close to being a top contender. You can't predict the injury bug, but you can spend the money and draft to add strength to your weaknesses. Kipers' view is an opinion. Everyone has one.
Draft O line and defense first priorities. Sigh FA WR.
I've only been here a few months and it seems harder to navigate, I wonder if the previous one was bugged.
Not really, no. It was good, simple, and logical.
I'm getting slowly used to the new one, but one big feature I do miss is being able to up/down vote right on the comment section below the news. I always read the news and then read the comments from the bottom of the same news page. That feature still exists, but you can't vote on comments below the news which sucks.
You can still vote. Go to the top where the comments begin and put your cursor on the quote symbol to the right of [Signed in as RaRaRavens] and enter the community. The up and down votes are there.
If Brashad Perryman is healthy and appears ready to go no. The Ravens should sign another proven WR through free agency. The O line and defensive positions are the primary targets we need to address in the draft. FA WR's like Boldin and Smith Sr. set the bar high. Another veteran WR could make an immediate impact with Joe. Also set an example for the young receiving core that we currently have. I love hard hitting defense. It still wins Championships to this day (Denver). Get what we need to put our offense into the top 12 and our defense back into the top 5. When you play in the AFC North, that would be quite an achievement.
My landlord just turned 90 and has moved into a posh senior community. She has 2 old male cats named Cuddles and Milo. They have roamed the outdoors of the lodge where I live their whole life but now will become house cats in new homes. I'm trying to acclimate them to not going outside. Cuddles got up a chair next to the back door and tried to turn the door knob to get out. They're smarter that we think.
The Ravens' Brass should take into consideration that Joe excels with good protection. Any money Joe sacrifices for the "team" should directly be spent on his behalf. We won a Super Bowl with our best O line in recent years. All Joe Flacco did was return the favor by playing as good as a great Hall of Famer...Joe Montana
soo your saying we should retain him or let him walk?
You know....Flacco won the Super Bowl behind the best line he ever had. The win at Cleveland hurt our chances of getting the best OT in the draft.
I know he had a great season , but the best in the league ? And if we retain KO we will be in even worse shape in FA.. I just don't see it happening..unless we cut Monroe and he takes a friendly hometown deal.
The Ravens have been keeping some players they shouldn't and passing on keeping some they should. We have average players out there. When you look at our 2 Championship teams there were average players with a group of great players and great leaders. The leaders on the field now...Suggs and Joe. We have to start spending the money better.
The Wolf Pack is the best. Reid owes Tucker for nailing that 50 yarder vs Steelers that helped put the Chiefs into the playoffs a week early. Not gonna happen unless someone gets hurt.
We played some good defense vs bad teams. Now to play some good defense vs a good team. Is it going to happen? I'll settle for the 5th pick (could have been first) in next year's draft. Get a big LT or CB would top beating these guys for nothing. It is for nothing from here on out other than the draft.
Can you remember Bert Jones stepping out of the end zone for a safety in order to lose in order for the Colts to make it the playoffs? Wasn't it against the Lions? I know the NFL changed things but I remember the Colts had to lose to make the playoffs. With a chance still alive for a Ravens playoff berth we can't let up yet. Stranger things have happened. What was the deal that forced the Colts into a must lose situation? Anybody remember.
The Super Bowl in Cleveland. Every year this is the Browns must win game. The team that moved vs the team that doesn't go anywhere and is as a perennial loser. Johnny Football. Tim Couch. On and on..
Who cares? Right now it is about next years draft and the projected salary cap. If Joe restructures his contract we are sitting pretty. I expect the Ravens to do what is best for the future. Why not?
My dream is that we can match the quality of the 1996 draft that brought us J.O. and Ray along with a group of quality starters. The win in Cleveland is not as important to us as it is to Cleveland. This has been their Super Bowl for years. We need to prepare for next year. A top draft pick along with Joe restructuring his contract is key to manipulating next years salary cap. I have total confidence in Ozzie and company to do this. And Matt Schaub get a million dollar bonus for his season. Good luck for the first pick in round one, two, three, and so... This is the NFL. This is the best decision we can make.
In preseason I petitioned for a KR. We have lost 2 games since Smith Sr went down because of drops and fair catch decisions. Great. The 2016 NFL draft has now become no.1. I want top picks. We don't at this time need a QB. Beef up the WRs, O Line, and barter with teams over late round pick to solidify our needs. John Harbaugh deserves the chance to rebuild our next season. Ravens forever #1.
I'm rooting for Trestman to get this offense going and saving his job. It's obvious he doesn't know the tricks of working the zone block as well as Kubiak did and his play calling at times has been hurt by the quality of his receivers. He lacks the enthusiasm Gary brought to the team last year. Too bad Jim Harbaugh went to Michigan. He would have been a great OC for his brother's team.
The offense needs to get it going. Granted the offense is looking better than it did in game one. Last season Kubiak brought in a whole new system and made it work while Trestman was suppose to simply improve upon it. I'm not giving up yet. The schedule is in our favor. Trestman needs to save his job.
Trestman should work on saving his job. Granted the offense is looking better than it did in game one. Last season Kubiak brought in a whole new system and made it work while Trestman was suppose to simply improve upon it.
Maybe he wasn't a bum. Maybe it was the guy who sits in his booth calling plays for the Ravens is a bum. I don't know..
I am saying how can a guy like Darian Stewart who played so bad for us become a top defensive back in 1 year? It's definitely coaching and wade phillips improved him. That's the only answer I can think of.
Darian Stewart is in a top dollar defensive backfield surrounded by veteran leadership. Last year he lined up next to our replacement scrubs. Believe me....come playoff time the Broncos will get burned in 2 spots in which their team is weak. Stewart is a scrub.
How long will Jacoby last in Pittsburg? Looking back...Had Jones made contact with Tomlin on the trip up run back the Ravens should have been given the TD by rule (if the Refs know the rules). I've seen some terrible game changing calls this season.

Give Joe some credit for gosh sakes my friend. We were a dropped pass and a missed FG away from a 3rd SB appearance and a banged up secondary away from a 4th appearance with Joe at QB. I'm more concerned about Trestman. If we stay healthy offensively we better be able to move the chains or we need to make a move fast at OC. C'mon man. Open your eyes.
