I was at Camp Saturday, so I'll throw in some observations on things I noticed. 1. These injuries are freak injuries. Unless the practice was toned down for the Saturday fans [ I don't believe that to be the case. ] these guys are getting plenty of rest between drills. I will add that the lack of hydration I seen was a little disturbing, seemed like nobody was hydrating and there was alot of cramps going on that I haven't seen reported [ Could be a case for these tears? ] 2. Terrell Suggs is still fast. He came into camp overweight but he looks good now and quick, his spin move was pretty nasty to watch coming from a big man. 3. Butler catches EVERYTHING and he seems very natural and at ease with it. His routes looked really good. 4. C.J. Mosley and Daryl Smith make a great duo, they both were all over the field and I believe both came away with picks. 5. Matt Schaub is ATROCIOUS. I fully believe that the only reason we picked him up was to use his brain because of his familiarity with the system. I'll say with confidence, I would rather have Tyrod Taylor backing up Flacco. Overthrows. Underthrows. Bad mechanics. Bad reads. No consistency with Schaub. 6. Justin Forsett looks young. He moves like a young man, and his patience and quick step to acceleration is quite the thing to see. I'm very comfortable with him starting, and him catching. 7. Buck Allen and Tali look great. Buck looks alot better blocking. Tali looks like a machine, he's punishing and a big man. 8. Will Hill was very impressive. Didn't seem to miss a beat and was always around the ball. I believe he was also the only one not to get yelled at during ST drills. 9. The punter brought in to give Koch competition isn't relevant. No worries. 10. Crockett Gilmore looks like a star in the making. Great hands. Deceptive speed for a man his size. Clean routes. Catches in traffic. 11. Camp looks GREAT. Crisp routes. Shifty. Good hands. No missteps in ST drills as far as returning. 12. Arthur Brown did put some weight on, mostly in the legs. Looked a little lost during drills as far as LBing. He IS NOT a special teamer, looked pretty bad in ST drills. He looks the part, but doesn't seem like he's grasping the speed of the game mentally. 13. Darren Waller needs ALOT of work. Physical specimen, but slow off the snap. Looks slow running, but the man eats up field with his long strides. Issues tracking the ball, kept his hands/arms very wide when attempting to catch backside shoulders and bombs. 14. Justin Tucker and Koch are the Highschool goons. Those guys seemed like they were having a ton of fun throughout practice and drills. JT nailed his kicks. Looked good showing off his soccer - esque footwork. He can catch, really well. Showing off his one handed grabs and behind the back catches. All in good fun. 15. Flacco looked sharp. Patient. Smooth. Great mechanics. If JT were to go down, don't count on Flacco making any kicks, after practice he was messing around and was attempting field goals.. missed all of them..but surprisingly made all of his drop kicks [ lol ]. 16. Kyle Arrington looked sharp, inside and outside. 17. Rashean Melvin gave up a good bit. Looked frustrated with himself and the overall quality of his practice. 18. Chris Canty is extremely vocal to the younger guys, acted part player part coach. 19. Nelson / Steelman look like strictly camp bodies. Nothing too exciting or spectacular. 20. Carter had a few nice grabs. Seemed very reminiscent to Camp. 21. Nick Perry quietly had a quality day. If anyone has anyone specific in mind that I didn't cover, or would like a little more detail on, let me know and I'll do my best to fill you in.
