Welp 95% of ravens nation is pissed right now.Â

Vh3 has never been injured as far as I know, and he is built very solid and compact and is an extremely fluid player with loose hips and his ankles and knees appear to be rock solid when you see him swivel and change directions. I didn't do any evaluation of Claiborne so idk about a comparison but vh3 doesn't appear to be injury prone at this point.
On top of this, VH3 is a technician, and Morris is a certifiable moron.Â
Not really understanding the want or need for Weddle. We have Webb at FS and we are paying him good money, and none of us are sure as to how good he will be. That could be bad, or good. But I'd rather not invest in an aging guy we don't really have a substantial need for.Â
With all the good seasons in recent years, I think one tanked season isn't that big of a deal. The way some of you guys are talking it's as if this is the 3rd season of abysmal play.. Relax.
Yikes. On that last punt if you rewind midfield Raven player tried bodyslamming a guy and it went uncalled. I think streetball is fair to say at this point.
How do you miss that call? You'd have to purposely not be paying attention to miss that..come on.
Yeah Forsetts wrist looked nasty, unnatural angle when he was on the ground. Dirty play, has him stopped, slam was unnecessary, very Suh like.. Should be a good fine.
I think at this point that the best thing for Arthur Brown is to be traded away to a team that runs a 4-3 strictly. That's what he is, a 43 linebacker. The way I would go about it is to trade him away for another Safety / Cornerback. I believe half to a little over half of NFL teams are 43 based, it would just depend on which team is stacked enough at the Secondary position and weak enough at the LB position to do a little switcheroo. Kansas comes to mind but they are a 34.
I seriously think all these injuries stem from HYDRATION issues. I didn't see many guys drinking and when I did it was a squirt and spit. I did however see alot of cramps happening.
I'll add that Brown is in serious risk of being cut from what I seen. I was a huge fan of his when we drafted him, but after seeing in person what he has to offer... He can't play special teams, and just looks really unconfident and mentally slow in the LB spot. He has the physical tools, it just doesn't seem like he has an " NFL mind ".
Never been a huge fan of Reid, but he also put together a good practice on Sat. He has Oher syndrome, average to below tackle, but would probably make an excellent guard.Might get to see the battle for the last OL spot on Thursday. With Zuttah and Wagner coming off of surgery, many think we'll hold them out since we know what we have in them. Myers and Urschel are concussed, which leaves Jensen to start at C and Reid to start at RT. Word is that both have put together good camps so far, and these guys look like they could be the battle for the 9th OL spot, if we keep 9.
Juice gives us what we need back there. He was one of the better lead blockers in the league last year, and we all know he has the ability to be a factor in the passing game as well. He may not be the prototypical TE, but he's more than able to line up as a move TE. He's pretty much the H-Back that you're talking about in this post.
To add to this, Juice looked awesome in practice Sat. Very happy that we have him on the team. He adds another dimension to the offense.
Thanks! You really covered everything. Any details on the battle between Brynn Renner vs Schaub?
Tbh, I didn't see too much of Renner during my time at camp. I can say that Schaub looks really, really bad. He won't be cut because of his contract and experience, but at this point you can't get much worse than what I seen from Schaub. I'm honestly confused as to how a pro powler regressed so much. Just in all things in being a quarterback. I remember vividly Saturday that Schaub took the snap and immediately felt pressure and instead of using his footwork.. he like.. one-leg hopped forward into the pocket his back foot never came down and he threw the football with an extremely high baseball pitch release to his outlet receiver which may have been 5 yards out and the ball nosed first into the ground.
You can take that how you will, but that was an extreme face-palm moment for me.
I was at Camp Saturday, so I'll throw in some observations on things I noticed.
1. These injuries are freak injuries. Unless the practice was toned down for the Saturday fans [ I don't believe that to be the case. ] these guys are getting plenty of rest between drills. I will add that the lack of hydration I seen was a little disturbing, seemed like nobody was hydrating and there was alot of cramps going on that I haven't seen reported [ Could be a case for these tears? ]
2. Terrell Suggs is still fast. He came into camp overweight but he looks good now and quick, his spin move was pretty nasty to watch coming from a big man.
3. Butler catches EVERYTHING and he seems very natural and at ease with it. His routes looked really good.
4. C.J. Mosley and Daryl Smith make a great duo, they both were all over the field and I believe both came away with picks.
5. Matt Schaub is ATROCIOUS. I fully believe that the only reason we picked him up was to use his brain because of his familiarity with the system. I'll say with confidence, I would rather have Tyrod Taylor backing up Flacco. Overthrows. Underthrows. Bad mechanics. Bad reads. No consistency with Schaub.
6. Justin Forsett looks young. He moves like a young man, and his patience and quick step to acceleration is quite the thing to see. I'm very comfortable with him starting, and him catching.
7. Buck Allen and Tali look great. Buck looks alot better blocking. Tali looks like a machine, he's punishing and a big man.
8. Will Hill was very impressive. Didn't seem to miss a beat and was always around the ball. I believe he was also the only one not to get yelled at during ST drills.
9. The punter brought in to give Koch competition isn't relevant. No worries.
10. Crockett Gilmore looks like a star in the making. Great hands. Deceptive speed for a man his size. Clean routes. Catches in traffic.
11. Camp looks GREAT. Crisp routes. Shifty. Good hands. No missteps in ST drills as far as returning.
12. Arthur Brown did put some weight on, mostly in the legs. Looked a little lost during drills as far as LBing. He IS NOT a special teamer, looked pretty bad in ST drills. He looks the part, but doesn't seem like he's grasping the speed of the game mentally.
13. Darren Waller needs ALOT of work. Physical specimen, but slow off the snap. Looks slow running, but the man eats up field with his long strides. Issues tracking the ball, kept his hands/arms very wide when attempting to catch backside shoulders and bombs.
14. Justin Tucker and Koch are the Highschool goons. Those guys seemed like they were having a ton of fun throughout practice and drills. JT nailed his kicks. Looked good showing off his soccer - esque footwork. He can catch, really well. Showing off his one handed grabs and behind the back catches. All in good fun.
15. Flacco looked sharp. Patient. Smooth. Great mechanics. If JT were to go down, don't count on Flacco making any kicks, after practice he was messing around and was attempting field goals.. missed all of them..but surprisingly made all of his drop kicks [ lol ].
16. Kyle Arrington looked sharp, inside and outside.
17. Rashean Melvin gave up a good bit. Looked frustrated with himself and the overall quality of his practice.
18. Chris Canty is extremely vocal to the younger guys, acted part player part coach.
19. Nelson / Steelman look like strictly camp bodies. Nothing too exciting or spectacular.
20. Carter had a few nice grabs. Seemed very reminiscent to Camp.
21. Nick Perry quietly had a quality day.
If anyone has anyone specific in mind that I didn't cover, or would like a little more detail on, let me know and I'll do my best to fill you in.
I'm extremely thankful for Boller, if we didn't get boller, we wouldn't of picked Flacco in the long run. Butterfly Effect.
I can think of 3 off the bat
2 vs the bengals in his rookie season
and 1 vs patriots this DP
yup he cost us. That tackle on amendola..I COULD have done better. It was appalling..it was a 3rd down and it would have forced a field goal.
Might have changed the complexion of the entire game.
I'm not as extreme as you in your opinions, but I will say that any situation where you have to teach a 1st rounder to do his MAIN job [ WR catching, OL blocking etc ], which would be tackling is a problem. I have high hopes for the guy, but it's always a red flag when you have to teach the guy the basics.
I think you're looking for "mountain into a mole hill" but far from the point.
At this point i dont know that we were seeing the same player, so I'll just agree to disagree.
Nope, said it exactly how I wanted.
We are seeing the same guy. Obviously we view it differently, but I respect your opinion.
No I'm not, and I agree he looked "dynamic" in several offseasons inspiring hope that he might actually contribute something during his career.
Then he'd see the field and drop easy catches, run wrong routes, and couldn't get open.
Justin Hardy, Demetrius Williams, Tandon Doss,
Kelley Washington, Marcus Smith, etc, etc, etc.... All showed flashes in preseason every once in a while. Doesn't mean they were good players. Doesn't mean they weren't awful players.
Sorry but if you're going to claim he was a good player and was a victim of circumstance, you've got to be able to back up those claims.
You basically said hey I disagree with your post for these reasons. All I did was the same - I disagree with your post on this basis... Don't see where my contribution is any less. We're discussing whether Deonte has a place among these players or not.
I apologize if you didn't mean for it to go any further than " I think this because that's what I think" and not have to validate your reasons.
So I'll ask a bit more directly, and it shouldn't take a pro scouts eye to answer it... In your opinion couldn't even a decent receiver get some decent snaps and production in a lineup consisting only of Torrey Smith, Tandon Doss and Marlon Brown??
We're seeing now that Marlon is a decent player - a fringe starter in an unproven wr corps - yet during his rookie year he was deemed a far better option than Deonte.
And other teams took a look at him after his time with the Ravens - don't think he ever made it beyond preseason or PS with anyone.
That means he got his best and only opportunity with the Ravens... The ravens didn't hold him back they gave him a chance to be a starter and he couldn't do anything.
So, victim of circumstances (lack of opportunity, buried on the depth chart) or just a really bad player? Btw that's not a huge knock on him he was an udfa for a reason.
And if you're going to say again he was a victim of circumstance please point out the great players that he was buried behind, and what you saw in him that 32 NFL teams and their scouts clearly didn't.
Definitely turned a mouse hole into a Mountain here, but I'll humor you.
The times I've seen Deonte play, he always looked natural catching the ball to me, especially in comparison to Torrey Smith, he went over the middle, he looked better tracking the ball. He was on pace to break out before his foot injury and legal troubles.
I don't feel Deonte Thompson was a case of not being skilled, just more so a case of bad luck and circumstance.
And why he hasn't started on other teams? I couldn't tell you, I don't know the situations within those teams, Deontes mindset or physical condition. All I know is that while he was here, he did impress more than me and mightve started, if not not for injury or legal issues.
Then why didn't he catch on somewhere else?
He got more opportunities than a lot of other guys.
And he was buried?? Really? Behind Torrey Smith, Marlon Brown an UDFA and Tandon Doss. You're right, many a good receiver wouldn't have seen the field with all that talent ahead of them.
Confidence maybe? Idk, I'm not an NFL scout or work in an NFL office, and I'd be willing to bet you are not either. I just remember him looking pretty dynamic when he did have chances. But besides that, do you have anything to contribute?
ahhh Deonte Thompson is a sore spot for me. I loved the guy and think if he wasn't buried and given the opportunity to play he would of been a good receiver for us.Travis Taylor
Lee Evans
Gino Gradkowski
Ed Dickson
Bernard Pierce after his rookie season (harsh I know)
Kyle Boller
Troy Smith
Frank Walker
Tandon Doss, Deonte Thompson, David Reed
Justin Harper, Eron Riley, Demetrius Williams
Basically every WR not named Anquan Boldin, Derrick Mason, Torrey Smith, Michael Jackson, or on the current roster.
My gosh our teams had some seriously bad WR groups.
I agree with those who said list guys with significant snaps, should of clarified that in the initial post. I think my biggest has to be Frank Walker, I love the guy for being a try-hard, but dang that guy sucked at the NFL level, idk how he got the chances that he did.
Tandon Doss is another guy, if he worked half as hard as he did with his weird punt catching as a receiver he might of lived up to a decent potential.
If yall are gonna shame my posts, at least contribute by adding who you think are the worst. Lol
Yall are freakin nit-pickers. Lol

Anybody catch what Suggs said at the beginning of the presser? I vividly remember him saying " he's a [profanity]Â quarterback!. " what's that about?Â
