  1. I would like it more if it was Timmy traded for the 74th pick straight up.
  2. Seems odd that we traded the 99th pick instead of 4th or 5th rounder. Seems like we should have at least picked up a 6th or 7th as well from them. Oh well it's done now
  3. Not quite Pro Bowl numbers if he doubles his stats but it would be an impressive season still. Last year he had 33 rec, 499 yds , 3 tds double that : 66 rec, 998, 6 tds. I doubt anyone would complain if he put up these numbers and the team won!
  4. Perriman does need to work concentration drops, but I think if he got with Flacco and worked his routes and their timing and trust it could work wonders. I mean lets face it, the playing calling never did anyone any favors, most of the time the routes on passing plays barely complement each other the way they should. Other teams might use Crossing routes and drags for pick plays while having Go route or post over the top as a deep option so they can attack multiple levels of the field. And the routes are what create the separation and openings. Seem like we send everybody out on curls or digs and wonder why the defense just sitting on it.
  5. Brad Kaaya has some of the worst pocket mobility and pocket awareness I've ever seen. I'm a Hurricanes fan, I felt like Kaaya never developed much over his last 3 years. He didn't read defenses any better, didn't get the ball out quickly on his progressions. Kaaya needs a Top 5 Oline and some time to develop because when he has a clean pocket he's accurate when there's pressure he begins to see ghosts and get erratic.
  6. It's really sad that I and others have told you what the actual numbers would be if Flacco was Cut or Traded and total numbers which would be broken down and yet you just pull random numbers out of the sky. You honestly think it's easy for a team to construct a roster with that much of Dead cap space. The team had a hard enough time working off the 9.5 dead cap after the Ray rice ordeal. You talking about the bengals and browns... Cleveland entire roster is compose of draft picks and only handful of players on their 2nd or 3rd NFL contracts. The bengals built most of their roster through the draft from years of sucking and now that some of those players have been due contracts they are losing starters left and right the last 2 years ( M.Sanu, M.Jones, Zeitler, Whitworth, R.Nelson, M.Johnson-left and returned ) Really don't talk about you could run a team better when you don't understand Salary cap structures, compensatory picks or anything. I mean in your previous post you said "trade Flacco so we get compensatory picks"
  7. I think they are giving Watson enough time to heal so that he can pass a physical and then be cut.. I can't find the article I was reading but it talked about how players on IR need to pass a physical before being cut, or the team would have to pay the full salary due per injury settlement rules, because it's deemed if they couldn't pass the physical they can't play for another team either. ( like a hardship type thing to benefit the players ). I read something similar for the reason K.Arrington hadn't been released yet.
  8. Last year the team was both lucky and unlucky at how the TE position played out. Going into training camp I was sure that Waller would be cut after serving the suspension without ever getting a chance and that perhaps Pitta too depending on health, because the Team had 6 TEs. * Watson is injured , Boyle & Waller have suspensions to serve so that basically solved the situation for the team without losing anyone. Maxx williams gets injured, right before Waller returns to action. Gilmore was nicked up all year, Boyle returns and the team ended with 4 TEs. Well even if they move Boyle or Maxx to FB the team will still need to part with someone, unless they move Waller back to WR. Just can't justify having 6 roster spots dedicated to TE when the team doesn't use them creatively enough to get production. They should be able to run a Two TE sets and hurry up offense and run and pass out of those.
  9. PJ?? And yeah it was crazy how the team got a 10-0 lead or a 10 pt lead in maybe 4 games before tossing out the game plan. Like the Dallas game drove me insane. The offense starts off good. 10-7 lead, even had a decent running game. Then in second half the team ran like 5 times and 1 was a Flacco scramble. Zuttah with penalties killed it too. But in a game that was within reach and the team abandoned the run completely. That was the narrative in a few games.
  10. I can't tell if this is joke or what. It's very difficult to read too. 1) the other Poster was correct you don't understand how trades or the salary cap works at all based off what you've wrote. When a team trades a player with multiple years left on their contract the team must still pay that player the remaining Guaranteed money, which creates Dead Cap. *need proof, when Ray Rice was cut after his ordeal and the team had to carry 9.5M dead money spread over 2 years. 2) if the Ravens cut or traded Flacco today the Dead Cap would be 47.3M according to Spotrac 3) Trades have nothing to do with compensatory picks and they never have! Compensatory picks are about the quality of Free Agents The Ravens lose vs the quality of FA they sign. ( with other factors such as contract amounts, performance based achievements ). ** Lastly Texans and Browns deal to absorb the entire Brock Osweiller deal is rare in Football and should not be viewed as an option for most teams. Basically like an NBA deal for cash considerations **
  11. In response to harbaugh, all we can say is show us the creativity please! Last offseason, everyone was pumped about the talent at TE ( this is before even knowing Pitta would be healthy and playing ) too. Tressman talked about getting creative but based on what occurred on the field that essentially meant we are going to throw TE screens to the slowest TEs Gilmore and Pitta gain 2-yards and call it a day. There were no twin or Trips TE with motion to create mismatches on smaller corners or to isolate a slow LB. Waller does have potential, but it doesn't matter because they don't capitalize on his size & speed advantage on defenders. They should have that kid lining up inside and outside running seam patterns, posts quick slants. Boyle at FB would be great said that quite a few times already.
  12. I gotta admit I was really put off that they didn't play him at OLB, especially early last year when Doom was out and A majority of the snaps was going to McClellan. I just want to see Correa have a solid year and I really hope Z.Smith improves his strength and technique because he regressed imo.
  13. Please elaborate on this for me. Because I don't see how you watched his college highlights of him at DE and you saw Ray Lewis type things... He wasn't getting the defense into position, or having to run sideline to sideline. I'll give the energy he displayed after making a tackle for loss.. When I watched his highlights made me picture him as versatile player like a Roosevelt Colvin or Karlos Dansby type, 2 guys that always left it on the field, and eventually played multiple positions within a defense
  14. Honestly the moment I read about them having Correa practice and learn both OLB and ILB I envisioned them screwing him up similar to Kruger. Anyone remember how Kruger went from DE to OLB back and forth for several years. Forcing the guy to put on extra weight then lose weight and work on quickness. I mean let the player get acclimated to the NFL in general before trying to teach them multiple positions and overloading them.
  15. It was strange to see the kid not play at all, after all the Mini-Camp and Training Camp articles about constantly being impressive with his motor and activity. Its almost like he went downhill right after that scuffle that left Pitta with an injured hand. Regardless they better play Correa somewhere and don't just waste the pick entirely like with Arthur Brown who never saw the light of day.
  16. Wow as much as I'm in that draft section I don't know how I missed it lol thanks man.
  17. Perhaps he's trying to say the team needs a tenacious vocal WR to have a yin & yang relationship with Flacco. I mean grasping at straws here, because this is one of those we have no news so let me write what I heard some fans talking about at the Buffalo Wild Wings lol
  18. While I get that he means he wants to see WRs with more moxy & bravado. Guys that aren't afraid to demand the ball. They dont need to be "diva , primadonna". In recent memory Larry Fitzgerald, Andre Johnson, Calvin Johnson, Julio Jones and AJ Green all are/were quiet WRs that lead with the play on the field rather than bulletin board quotes, or crazy celebrations. A.Brown and OBJ doing all this over the top stuff as a form of branding to draw attention to themselves for more marketing opportunities.
  19. Anyone wanting to simulate your own Mock Draft. I came across this site http://fanspeak.com/ontheclock/ you can live draft anywhere from 1 round to all 7 rounds.
  20. I've been trying to post on other outlets since this will be closing ... Ravens Facebook fans smh. Spent several back and forth comments arguing with a guy lol. It started with his preference of Derrick Henry instead of Correa ( ok sure we have our own draft fantasy scenarios ). Then the guy says "they screwed that up just like the year we traded back to get Kindle and missed out on drafting Dez Bryant since we traded back lol" i said thats the exact opposite of what happen Dallas traded up and stole Dez Bryant right from us then the team traded back since Bryant was gone. enter name calling ( oh boy I'll miss this little message board ) lol
  21. I've said this on comment section somewhere else, but it's ironic because fans and Ravens media pundits have all stated how durable Carr is and how it's such a great thing. Eugene Monroe had never missed a game in his entire career then we traded for him which seemed to be a steal for something like a 5th round pick I think and the man became Samuel L. Jackson's character on The Unbreakable over night. So to be fair Claiborne has had plenty of injuries in his first 5 years so the team would already know what they're getting. But if Carr were to "knock on wood" get injuried after his perfect attendance it would be similar to Eugene Monroe or D.Foxworth when he came here and had to retire abruptly.
  22. I'm not sure what you mean by Carr is UFA so he doesn't count. After all if that were the case then we would get nothing for the guys we've lost like Wagner, Juice etc all of those guys were signed away as unrestricted free agents. If they were restricted free agents then any team that signed them away would forfeit their draft pick to the Ravens based on the tender placed on each player. From over the cap So you need to write down each player the Ravens lost and what the contract was. The compare with new players acquired. Hope that helps some.
  23. I don't know why people are giving you negs when you're making excellent points. Well said
  24. Hold him hostage??? Any team that wants West can make him a contract offer which the Ravens would have an option to match. Teams aren't willing to give up a 3rd round pick then they don't believe West would be their featured back. West actually got playing time, whereas a guy like Buck Allen has been a healthy scratch for a full year, his receiving skills would be put to use on plenty of teams.
  25. I'm in disagreement here, the Ravens have handled it correctly. The placed a 3rd round tender on West if any team truly wants him and feels he could be their starter offer him a contract the Ravens can't match and give up that 3rd round pick. Dixon is suspended for the first 4 games, Woodhead will have a certain role. So even if the Ravens were to sign AP ( since he's been brought up a few times here ), West would still be valuable for the beginning of the season. Or at the very least keep him for trade bait preseason injuries make some players more attractive in trades.
