And it might be on our practice squad - who would you cut for him to make it?

I truly believe his lack of snaps early in the Preseason was to try and preserve tape on him so they could in fact slide him under the radar onto the PS.

  2. Some people on here just do not understand that there is no longer a FS or SS....it's just a Safety....period. Listen to Harbs say there no longer is that tag. Safeties should be interchangeable and that's what we are doing with Weddle & crew.

  3. There is no chance that Perriman will be contributing week 1. Hopefully they can get the ground game going because the passing game will be blahhhh

If that's how you feel then be ready to...Ice Up Son!

I'm looking forward to Camp and the TEs tearing that Denver D a new one. We owe them the way they thrashed us 2 seasons ago.

  4. He quit, its a fact. Thats what people are harping on him for.

I'm not seeing it anywhere where he quit during the conditioning test itself. If he quit after the test, and after failing it, then I'll understand a little clearer. I'm not saying he didn't quit during it, I just can't find where it's been reported that he did so.

    Might've answered my own question:

"Should a player not make his prescribed target time during any of the six runs, then it's determined that he's failed the conditioning test.

Last year, Ravens Pro Bowl kick returner Jacoby Jones didn't complete the test on the first try at the start of training camp but then passed it on the second try, allowing him to practice."

So if he failed the first part of the test, then he fails the whole test and of course doesn't finish the whole thing. That's not quitting.

  5. The main criticism isn't that he failed the test, but that he (reportedly, in fairness) quit. That was his big chance to make an impression, and he quit.

It would be like showing up 22 minutes late for a job interview, and then giving up on some test they give you (in my case, I literally had to sit a test to even be considered). No matter how gruelling the test I got put through, if I quit on it then I'd consider myself lucky to even be in the mix after that.

But like others have said, his final chance should come in the preseason camps. If he legitimately beats out everyone else who wants a roster spot, I personally won't care about anything that's just happened and I doubt the FO will. As it is, they'd be within their rights to cut their losses and move on, but I think they have more to gain by keeping him until at least after the draft.

Well whether he was late or not is debateable (see today's LFW article) so I can't comment on that.

Did he quit during the condtioning test? Or did he just not pass it in time? I seriously don't know. If he quit during it, then I'll fully agree with you. But if he just didn't pass it, then he should be in OTAs at the very least.

  6. Well then damnit pay the man. If there's anyone worth that kind of money he is....

I agree. Iggles also want a 3rd rounder for him. Wonder if Oz would consider it after netting that 3rd round comp. He's on the smaller size but would fit the zone scheme I think.

  7. That's our center that we were waiting for.

He probably got cut because he wasn't going to fit Jay Gruden's power running offense.

However, he's perfect for the zone blocking.

Also, since he was released, he won't count against the draft compensation.

I think he's coming in for a visit real soon.

Bingo. It'd be a nice little stop gap solution. Might help Oz throw a couple more bucks at Steve Smith while he's in town too instead of perhaps going big and getting the Mack.

  8. Aaron Wilson @RavensInsider 4m

Steve Smith met with Ravens coach John Harbaugh and offensive coordinator Gary Kubiak last night when he got to town, visit continues today

    Aaron Wilson @RavensInsider 2m

Worth noting with Steve Smith, will probably want time to mull over with family, consider options. Other NFL teams interested, too

I have a terrible feeling that if he leaves without a contract that he'll end up with the Pats.

  9. One thing that scares me is Steve is an intense individual and passionate on the field and hasnt had a problem telling off teammates or commenting on QB play.

With that said....Flacco can be a head scratcher sometimes and I could see that honeymoon between the two ending very quickly.

I like the fact that he is fiery as freak. That's something the offense lacked last year without Q. That kind of fire. Sometimes you'd look at the offense on the bench after another 3 and out and they'd just sit there and look defeated. Need Smiff in there to fire these boys up.

  10. Omgosh...broncos get ware too.

    $10m/year 3year deal

They are incredibly aggressive. Tj ward, aqib, ware. All in and mortgaging future for broncos.

Well I will not be watching any NFL stuff on TV all offseason, all we will hear is Broncos Broncos Broncos....too bad they can't win a ring in the offseason. It is nice to see them overpaying for these dudes though even though the media will eat that ish up.
