He's actually been released per Rotoworld.
Graded out as the #5 overall Guard per PFF for what it's worth.
LG Josh Sitton from the Pack, please! I'd take him on our 53 over Vlad or Wesley.
And no, I don't count Hurst.
My Iggles said Eagles at Ravens Week 4. We will see.
Some people on here just do not understand that there is no longer a FS or SS....it's just a Safety....period. Listen to Harbs say there no longer is that tag. Safeties should be interchangeable and that's what we are doing with Weddle & crew.
There is no chance that Perriman will be contributing week 1. Hopefully they can get the ground game going because the passing game will be blahhhh
If that's how you feel then be ready to...Ice Up Son!
I'm looking forward to Camp and the TEs tearing that Denver D a new one. We owe them the way they thrashed us 2 seasons ago.
We got our butts kicked. Camp was the ONLY good thing about today's practice.
Yes, we spent so much time game planning for these practices against the Iggles. We should have won today.
I'm going Jah Bum, Trawick, Butler, Tyson. I think we keep Asa just because of what happened last year with CB's...never know what happens though till after TC and post season.
$21 million over 3 years, no matter how that contract is structured, is a lot of loot for a 32 year old.
Have fun losing in Cleveland, Tramon.
Red Bryant of the Jags released per Rotoworld. 6'4" 320lbs and a very above average run stopper. Sign me up!
I'm not seeing it anywhere where he quit during the conditioning test itself. If he quit after the test, and after failing it, then I'll understand a little clearer. I'm not saying he didn't quit during it, I just can't find where it's been reported that he did so.He quit, its a fact. Thats what people are harping on him for.
Might've answered my own question:
"Should a player not make his prescribed target time during any of the six runs, then it's determined that he's failed the conditioning test.
Last year, Ravens Pro Bowl kick returner Jacoby Jones didn't complete the test on the first try at the start of training camp but then passed it on the second try, allowing him to practice."
http://touch.baltimoresun.com/#section/-1/article/p2p-79929953/
So if he failed the first part of the test, then he fails the whole test and of course doesn't finish the whole thing. That's not quitting.
The main criticism isn't that he failed the test, but that he (reportedly, in fairness) quit. That was his big chance to make an impression, and he quit.
It would be like showing up 22 minutes late for a job interview, and then giving up on some test they give you (in my case, I literally had to sit a test to even be considered). No matter how gruelling the test I got put through, if I quit on it then I'd consider myself lucky to even be in the mix after that.
But like others have said, his final chance should come in the preseason camps. If he legitimately beats out everyone else who wants a roster spot, I personally won't care about anything that's just happened and I doubt the FO will. As it is, they'd be within their rights to cut their losses and move on, but I think they have more to gain by keeping him until at least after the draft.
Well whether he was late or not is debateable (see today's LFW article) so I can't comment on that.
Did he quit during the condtioning test? Or did he just not pass it in time? I seriously don't know. If he quit during it, then I'll fully agree with you. But if he just didn't pass it, then he should be in OTAs at the very least.
Jacoby was on dancing with the stars when the rest was training.
And Ro was out of football for a year. JJ should've passed the test regardless. Moot point now.
People harping on the conditioning test need to get over it. Jacoby Jones failed it last off season and not a lot of people killed him over it.
Why 24 hours?
Because that's what happened with Favre when he retired then reinstated. The team had a 24 hour deadline to act. Read it on Rotoworld yesterday actually.
So 24 hour time frame to do something with Ro. Cut him? Keep him? Trade him?
With the timing, my guess is keep him and he will be at OTA's that just happen to start on Monday. Then it's truly sink or swim time.
Well then damnit pay the man. If there's anyone worth that kind of money he is....
I agree. Iggles also want a 3rd rounder for him. Wonder if Oz would consider it after netting that 3rd round comp. He's on the smaller size but would fit the zone scheme I think.
Per Rotoworld, apparently Evan Mathis might be on the chopping block with the Iggles. He's one of the few guys I'd want to play LG forcing KO to RT. Only problem, Mathis is 33 and wants more then what he's making now ($5 mill).
disgusting at how oher gets treated here.
And it was disgusting how he played last season, what's fair is fair.
That's our center that we were waiting for.
He probably got cut because he wasn't going to fit Jay Gruden's power running offense.
However, he's perfect for the zone blocking.
Also, since he was released, he won't count against the draft compensation.
I think he's coming in for a visit real soon.
Bingo. It'd be a nice little stop gap solution. Might help Oz throw a couple more bucks at Steve Smith while he's in town too instead of perhaps going big and getting the Mack.
Aaron Wilson @RavensInsider 4m
Steve Smith met with Ravens coach John Harbaugh and offensive coordinator Gary Kubiak last night when he got to town, visit continues today

Worth noting with Steve Smith, will probably want time to mull over with family, consider options. Other NFL teams interested, too
I have a terrible feeling that if he leaves without a contract that he'll end up with the Pats.
I'd be fine with giving Daryl that Woodyard money but not that Dansby money that he probably wants.
One thing that scares me is Steve is an intense individual and passionate on the field and hasnt had a problem telling off teammates or commenting on QB play.
With that said....Flacco can be a head scratcher sometimes and I could see that honeymoon between the two ending very quickly.
I like the fact that he is fiery as freak. That's something the offense lacked last year without Q. That kind of fire. Sometimes you'd look at the offense on the bench after another 3 and out and they'd just sit there and look defeated. Need Smiff in there to fire these boys up.
Yeah but I at least want some competition for them. We have to get at least someone else, plus you can never have too many corners
Look how many CB's are still out there in free agency...Oz will find the right player / right price kind of dude.
Omgosh...broncos get ware too.
$10m/year 3year deal
They are incredibly aggressive. Tj ward, aqib, ware. All in and mortgaging future for broncos.
Well I will not be watching any NFL stuff on TV all offseason, all we will hear is Broncos Broncos Broncos....too bad they can't win a ring in the offseason. It is nice to see them overpaying for these dudes though even though the media will eat that ish up.

I truly believe his lack of snaps early in the Preseason was to try and preserve tape on him so they could in fact slide him under the radar onto the PS.
