Ahhh how I miss these predictions threads...the good ole "we should win by 24" even though as Ravens fans we should be accustomed to never winning comfortably let alone actually scoring 24 pts.
Now we get to act as if RG3 isn't 1-0 against us, Hue Jackson doesn't own us, we dont have a history of week 2 let downs and even worse the Raven Killer Josh McCown may play...I don't know how anyone can feel comfortable about a division away game with those things in play..
With that being said...I completely expect this Raven team to find a way to win this game. They better. This is the type of game you can't lose if your trying to be taken seriously this year.
This is looking like a classic "Win all game but lose in final minutes" Ravens game we've come to know and love.
Uggghhhh
Jimmy smith is doing fine...he needs his line to help him.
No pressure...ugghh

I would like to see them at least collapse the pocket a bit more...when tyrod gets time its like he has a steel wall In front of him.
Just not seeing anything special about this defensive line these last two years. And I'm talking Jernigan and Williams...

Tunsil and Stanley were 1a and 1b and Tunsil slightly edged out Stanley so therefore he must be the only option because he was the unlikely guy to fall... But Guess what, he fell, and for good reason, and clearly made Stanley the top tackle. 2 players this close in talent are separated by things like injuries and character, where Stanley blows Tunsil out of the water.
Just because Tunsil was once the top prospect doesn't mean he was the top prospect come draft night. Treadwell was once a top 10 pick and vh3 Was considered a lock to go top 8 for months, they fell for various reasons in a long and slow process, but the Tunsil ordeal happened suddenly so nobody had time to sour on him.
Had someone shined a brighter light on tunsils injuries and lack of pro style experience a month earlier, along with the bong vid, everyone would be singing a different tune.
Sooooooo Tunsil's injuries and not playing in a pro style offense just came to light right before the draft?
Ex-Raven says Ravens should have drafted Tunsil
1 hour ago, Purple_City39 said:So NFL teams/GMs are regretting passing on Tunsil before their players even put pads on? Before Tunsil puts pads on?
Sure you can regret something like passing on Tunsil if you were highly coveting him before the draft...and then let something as minute as a weed video and public perception stop you from drafting him. On the night of the draft it seemed like whatever team picked him was in for a year of bad press and publicity and were gonna be made the laughing stock of the league...fast forward to the end of the draft weekend and the sports world was on to the next story.
Another great article that highlights much of what I was saying in here...
http://baltimoresportsandlife.com/ravens-really-passed-tunsil-bong-video-made-mistake/
Article was just posted on bleacher report saying that general sentiment has turned as teams were disappointed in Tunsil and now admire him after what was done to him and how he handled it...article also states teams are regretting on passing on him.
1.Tunsil was the best Tackle in the draft according to College EXPERTS that I had seen describe the competition field.
2. It wasn't until closer to the draft that I started hearing rumblings Stanley might be getting viewed at as an equal. BUT still, the college EXPERTS were still saying Tunsil was best.
3. The trades up top happen and now you start to hear Tunsil could go 3 or 6. Stanley is still projected as top 12..some believe maybe he can slide in top 7 or 8 if things play out right.
Also the incident with his step father is not new at this point.
4. Enter draft night..pictures surface... Reports are going wild that teams are either taking him off their boards completely or not willing to spend a high pick on him. ( this is my first issue)
5.Balt picks Stanley....OK so I'm blah on the pick ..but mainly because I'm not sure if its A. Because of Tunsil ordeal or B. Because they just like Stanley better.
6. Then you see titans do the same thing...they have even less of an excuse to pass on Tunsil...Conklin though good was widely regarded as the #3 tackle in the draft...so you definitely know the weed affected at least 1 team maybe two.
And no I don't care what GMs and coaches say after the pick..they all cover their butts ..if in fact they did want tunsil their not gonna come out and say it.
Hell we basically caught Jerry Jones in a lie when he said he talked to us and we let him know we were taking Zeke. We wanted Ramsey.
If this is about Tunsil being injured alot ...I can live with that..
If this is about Stanley TRULY being rated higher I can live with that as well...
But If this is ...we didnt draft him BC he has a lot of some character concerns ..I can't live with that..
13 minutes ago, rmcjacket23 said:Well, he did make a video of him smoking weed (my 5 year old knows the reasons not to do that) and he also outed his University and coaches in an interview for paying his rent (which I'm sure his alma mater is just o so thrilled about).
I suppose you could argue he's somehow a "victim" in all of this, but then again, all of this is just a consequence of his own actions.
Hardly the victim anyway. The guy get taken 13th overall in the NFL draft is going to get probably $12-13M guaranteed with a very large signing bonus. Lets stop pretending like this guys life is ruined.
Soooo....
Much like Ray Rice...the video is the thing that pushes the whole smoking incident over the top..because at face value..minus the tape...we have a 19 year old smoking weed. That would've been fine if not for the video right?
And he took money from a coach for his moms light bill...horrible. How many teams passed up on Cam Newton for that same thing...better question how little do you think the Panthers now care about that ??
And he was a victim..I highly believe that he's either in SD or Baltimore right now had his ex financial advisor or whoever it was didn't sabotage him..
And your absolutely right I don't feel bad for him in the long run..he's a millionaire living in Miami...but he was kinda vilified that night.
Yea I typically just go to tune in and listen to 105.7 the fan.

Heck even Manzel the total TOOL tried keeping his name clear right before the draft and he is an idiot to the 10th degree right along with his team mate Gordon both of those guys just don't care. Until draft day morning all I heard about Tunsil was he had an altercation with his stepfather but then all this other stuff started surfacing where there is smoke there is fire. I am happy Oz and his staff went with Stanley. No off field drama and means he has a lot of time to hone his skill.
"pulls this" what exactly did he pull if you don't mind me asking?
8 hours ago, BmoreBird22 said:So, as far as the Stanley-Tunsil debate goes, the Ravens had Tunsil as top 15 and Stanley as top 4. The Dolphins had Tunsil as their number 8 prospect. The Titans flat out passed on Tunsil after trading up when everyone believed he'd be the number one pick had the Titans stayed.
Basically, fans and the media are overrating him.
Pretty sure the Dolphins stated that Tunsil was the best player in the draft and they were filled with excitement when he slid to them....but yea I guess #8 prospect sounds a lot better.
Lol only on this board......during this discussion.... is Tunsil now overrated...he was number 1 on almost 50 different mock drafts for 3 months...
But because Ozzie and them passed on him..he was now magically not even top 15 on the Ravens boards.
LMAOOOO...guys please take the purple shades off... My fault I should have known better than make this topic on this board. People who go against the Raven way on this board are treated like the Antichrist.
Who knows maybe the Ravens will bring Will hill back and let him fail his 12th drug test. Oh that's right..it was a low money deal..so the character concerns don't really mean as much...
Or maybe Suggs can pour bleach over his girlfriend again and the Ravens will cut him...oh Nvm..he's the face of the team...
Let's keep picking on the 20 year olds and tell them they messed up too much to be on our team
1 hour ago, SuRihtanil said:Honestly I wanted Stanley all along if Ramsey wasn't there. I like Stanley's footwork and he is a bull in the run game. I also like his character the Ravens got some guys with superb character this year. Honestly, I think Stanley will probably be a Ravens for next decade so we should probably let thoughts of another player go and embrace Stanley 100%.
I actually like Stanley...I just like Tunsil better. Almost 90% of the College experts had Tunsil being the best tackle leading up to the draft with a substantial but not large gap between him and Stanley. And u said Stanley is a bull during Run block.. But everything I've seen said that's the weakest aspect to his game. On the tape I've watched Tunsil was a bit more fierce and NFL ready. Like I said I'm happy with Stanley. But you guys are letting them sell you a clear number 2 as 1B. I want number 1. I'm willing to accept this if it was based on his injury history. That scared me as well..but all accounts state this was due to character concerns.

Lol seriously
2 hours ago, Im Too Legendary said:It honestly has nothing to do with the aspect of smoking weed, but rather all to do with the ramifications that come from doing so as imposed by the NFL. First of all, smoking weed is one thing, but intentionally recording yourself and keeping said recording is moronic in and of itself. Regardless of whether or not it was personal, you've got to be aware of your popularity and the negativity that would inevitably occur should said video ever reach the public. You're a prime target for national media attention, you should have the foresight to at least ensure anything and everything that could possibly mar your image is deleted, not merely tucked away.
Furthermore you act like as if there's such a disparaging difference between Tunsil and Stanley to the point where Tunsil is considered light years ahead of Stanley in any way. I know for a fact that if you were to own a business and you have two very comparable prospects in front of you for only one available position, you're honestly going to sit there and tell me that you're going to pick the individual whose currently going through a numerous allegations and issues over the other prospect who is as clean as can be? Yeah, good luck banking your highest pick in over a decade on the notion of "everyone makes mistakes". There's no room for 50/50 here.
We're talking game suspensions if caught, did you seemingly forget about Will Hill already? Look where that got him--it's not the act of smoking weed. I'll reiterate again, it's the consequences that are imposed. This is far and above one of the most idiotic postings I've seen on this forum; you couch scouts are delusional.
Lol u brought up Will Hill and proved my point perfectly..... quick question, why did the Ravens give him an opportunity in Baltimore?
Yea exactly.
I can't remember being this irked by the Ravens and NFL in general in a while..
This whole Tunsil situation that transpired over the last couple days doesn't sit well with me.
For 3 days out of the year...the NFL and all its owners and organizations get to put on this moral/ethical/integrity crown and thumb their noses at these young 19,20, 21 year olds and say you have red flags..or character concerns..
CHARACTER CONCERNS?! the NFL?!? There's character concerns from the top of this league (Goddell) down to the equipment boys who put air in the ball.
So your scared this 21 year old smokes weed....guess what??? Half your locker room is probably watching the draft with a big fat blunt in their hand. Now we get to hear the whole idea of " Stanley was always up there" " we graded him just as high as" STOP. No you didn't . u didn't want to draft Tunsil BC of the attention you'd get. But as fans I want the BEST player possible, not a plan B BC my team is afraid to draft a player. Every draft 20 players get hit with these red flags and character concerns and a good portion of them you never hear a peep out of during their playing years.
The Ravens have stuck by some good players through the years that did some dumb things...Is it different BC their on the team...their pro bowlers...their top tier players...
Give these kids a chance. Try having ethical morality with the players in your locker room and the coaches and owners in the league already before you let a great player pass because he smokes weed.
we weren't going for Zeke.
this is Jerry Jones trying to save face because he knows he blew a great opportunity to get an extra pick AND still get the player he wanted.

Schefter just reported RG3 injury is serious... Really bad news for us. McCown looked so comfortable ripping us apart last year.
