  1. If this thread had been titled " QBs available that you'd rather have than Flacco ", there probably wouldn't have been a single post, lol. Flacco has done some great things since becoming our starting QB. Is he the best? elite? NO. He's a little better than average QB that under some circumstances can steal a win with outstanding play, and has rarely thrown a game away through his own, direct mistakes. I think this first few game funk he's in is partly due to coming back from his injury, multiple injuries to our O-line which has him getting pummeled more than any other QB in the NFL,  and bonehead play call from Trestman. I think after the bye and beyond, we'll see a vast improvement from Joe and the O as a whole. So at this point, I'm still behind Joe. Hope he doesn't prove me wrong.

  2. Hope everyone stays healthy. I have a feeling the Jets are going to be out for blood. It would be nice if we could be enough ahead to let the starters rest in the last quarter of the game. I know I'm a dreamer but so what. Go Ravens.

You know, I cant remember when we've ever been able to do that. Anyone else? Even when our D was only avg 11 pnts a game, our O wasn't good enough to have the luxury of resting players.

IMO, other than OBJ, the second half wasn't bad either. OBJ had 11 yards in the first half (Jimmy in), over 200 in second (Jimmy out)

  4. It really matters not whether the Ravens win or lose against the Jets. They have already lost any chance with their lackluster performances against the last three teams, all of which are bad. After the break, the Ravens will be lucky to be competitive against much tougher opponents. They may have lucked out with Baby Ben out, but unlike the Ravens, the Steelers are a team that doesn't make excuses for injuries. They go out and kick peoples behinds. As long as Harbaugh is coach and Newsome is picking mediocre talent with high draft picks, the Ravens are doomed to be where they are.

LOL, the Ravens aren't making any excuses, only the fans. Just as the Steelers don't make excuses, only their fans. As for Harbs and Oz, they've done far better than most NFL teams in the past 8 years, and in some instances, that includes the Steelers.

Yeah, you might as well give up watching them play dude...at least then we wouldn't have to hear all those doom and gloom projection's you've been spouting every day.

These Raven's are so horrible that they should just move the team to Vegas, cause they will never be a good team again, never mind they've won two super bowls, that's all in the past and were probably some kind of mysterious flukes anyways...

And yeah, might as well try to lose games. That will teach Ozzie and Harbs...unlike those Squeelers, who like you say, never ever complain about anything and are the shining beacons of how a real football team plays! Wow, some people might confuse you with being a fan of theirs, lucky we know better,eh?

Don't let fastynart bait you, I'm fairly certain he's a Pitt fan that joined just to troll.

Jimmy Smith is the most underrated player on this team after his poor season last year with all his issues he was having with his foot. You can see after he finally got the screw removed he is looking like the lock down player we are used to seeing. If he does not play our defense goes from top 5 in the league to what we saw in the second half last week.

Smith in first half, OBJ gets 11 yards. Smith out second half, OBJ gets 214 yards. Not saying he alone was the reason, but having him out there sure seams better than not!

Please stop defending the guy. His lack of production is as big a part of the team's problem as the Ravens' inability to keep players healthy, and their inability to draft playmakers for the last 5 years. Since he signed that $126 million dollar contract, the highest he's finished as a QB is 16th in the league (2014). The other two years, he finished 30th and 32nd, and is again ranked near the bottom this year at 27th. That's terrible. He may not be THE problem, but he is a BIG problem.

Only looking at QB rating in your assessment of all QBs is also a problem, I'm not sure you understand how deceptive that or any stand alone statistic can truly be. According to you, Dalton is a better QB and we'd be a better team those years with Dalton, and I'd say we'd be worse.

True. As I've always said, stats can say what ever you want them to say depending on how they're presented.

You are comparing Flacco to Rodgers ? Um, Lets see, Rodgers makes most of his plays outside of the pocket, extends plays and has pretty reliable aim. Flacco on the other hand is getting a lot like Boller in that i mean he has been hit so many times he almost frets to get rid of the ball and his accuracy is taking a hit because of that. Wait, that is no excuse, Rodgers led the league in taking hits for a few years straight. Please do not compare Flacco to Rodgers, not even on the same level.

Rodgers?  LOL!  I guess you didn't watch his game this week where his own fans boo'd him off the field.  Better find a better example.

True. Rogers had a great run for a few + years, but he has fallen off alot going back 2 seasons now.
