Jernigan will flourish in a one gap system. I am predicting now that the Cowboys will sign him next year and with Rod Marinelli he will be a Pro-Bowl player. He is a good player and inconsistent here, but this is not the system for him. At least we will get a 3rd rounder for him.

Neither Boldin or Aiken fit in Marty's west coast scheme. I don't see us signing either one of them. On another note. The Ravens have actually signed a free agent to a contract that is good for the Ravens. The Carr contract is perfect for a team that overpays for mediocre players. Team options each year for a 30 year old corner. Very smart this time around.

I don't know about these signings. I'm not sold on Jefferson, we overpaid for Williams and what was the point of adding Woodhead. Jefferson may have the same opportunities in this scheme as opposed to Arizona's. Dean Pees is not Todd Bowles or James Bettcher. I haven't seen him come with any exotic looks. Granite he doesn't have the corners that Arizona had either. We will have to see if Pees uses him well. We could've signed Poe for half of what was given to Williams. A guy who is just as athletic. Poe does need to be motivated sometimes, but there is not a drastic difference between the two. Both are 2 down players and with the depth we have on the D-line, Poe will probably play better that he did in KC because of less snaps. We need a back who can take a 5 yard run and make it a 70 yard touchdown. That is not Woodhead. He is a 32 year old back coming off an ACL tear. We know it takes a year after recovery to be a full strength, so that will be in 2018. He is a scatback. We will draft or pickup another back with speed so that will gives us...6 half backs. I just think this was an attempt to save Harbaugh's and Ozzie's but, which I can understand. We need to build this team through the draft and use free agents sparingly.

I am happy for Brandon he is a genuine person and likes to have fun. However, 52 million for a guy who isn't 3 down player? I thought they could've signed Poe for 20 million less and half the guaranteed money. I hope it works out. He is entering his prime years, so he should be at his best.

Why in the world would we want Prince Anukamara? Hensley says he's just like Jimmy Smith because he can't stay healthy and he failed to record more than one interception in 5 of the past 6 seasons. What is the rationale to sign him, to be Shareece Wright 2.0? We don't need to sign anymore mediocre players and especially at DB.

I would sign Mangold on the fact he hasn't given up a sack in 33 games and he knows how to run block by playing in a system that heavily featured the run game under Rex Ryan. I'm sure Roman wants Mangold too. Also I like veteran centers like Mangold who can help sort out the protection up front because, for some reason, Flacco seems surprised each time the blitz comes. He is not great at calling protections and Mangold will help with that. He would also be a good mentor for a center we draft for the future. Of course all of this is predicated on him being healthy, which is true of anyone brought in.

He is not a downgrade. Injury and quarterback play has a role in the offensive line. He was injured last year, he had terrible quarterback play, but still hasn't given up a sack in 33 games. He was named to the pro bowl the two years before last year. Definitely an upgrade.

I know he will not be back next year, but if he were a free agent (not restricted) last year instead of this year, we would've overpaid for him like we tend to do with mediocre players. We even gave him a second round tender last year. We should've given him a 4th round tender and hoped someone took him off our hands. We have to stop stocking up on mediocre players. Players who specialize in nothing. Aiken fits that mold.

JuJu is going to be a playmaker period. He is a fiery guy that backs it up with his play. If I need to pick a receiver, I would pick him or Williams from Clemson.

I saw that guy during the senior bowl practices. He is a very solid blocker and caught some passes out of the backfield. I like him and I agree that he would be a good pickup.

I was thinking the same thing. I like Timmons. The Steelers will move on from him with the emergence of Shazier. That may be a good move, but he is 30.

I would keep Lawrence Guy and possibly Wagner (depending on what his asking price is). I would make offers to West, Camp and Rolle. Re-sign Onwuasor, Price and Reynolds. Matthews would be intriguing, but he is not a West Coast WR.

It seems the Ravens tend to overpay average players because they play well the last year of their contract. Remember Billy Cundiff, Justin Forsett, Shareece Wright, etc. This will be another instance of that same thing. Billy and Justin like Juice went to the Pro-Bowl and the following season they both had terrible seasons. We will overpay for Juice, not use him, then cut him. In my opinion we need to find playmakers first then add players like Juice who can supplement the talent. If we pay him too much money (4-5 million per year), then how can we sign a Brandon Marshall?

I think he will have a good year, but it's up to him. During the offseason, I think more young guys need to hang out with veterans and trainers to get better at their craft. I read a story on ESPN.com stating that Matt Ryan worked at the 3DQB training facility in Los Angeles to improve. The same guys worked with Brady, Brees and Palmer. This site did a story about Jerigan working with Darnell Dockett during his second year and Jerigan throwing up because the workouts were so intense. I think it would be great if he trained with Fitzgerald, Green or Marshall (since they are both from the same school) to learn how to run routes and the subtleties of the position. A guy with his speed having issues with separation definitely comes from poor route running. He has to want to be better and please stay healthy.

As for the secondary it is difficult to determine how well the coaching is, because we have so many bad players (Wright, Lewis, Arrington, etc). Jimmy Smith is being coached by the same guys that Wright is, but Jimmy likes to press and Wright plays 7 yards off the line of scrimmage. Does Wright do that so he doesn't get beat deep or do the coaches tell him to back off because they don't want him to get beat deep? I know it depends on the individuals own technique as well. I'm just wondering if Hewitt would want to bring in guys that like to press or play off coverage or press bail, etc. Does he have a preference? If I were him, I would say I definitely need better talent. I just felt better with having Frazier as a coach, he's got tremendous knowledge and experience. I like Hewitt learning under him for a few years. If I hire a guy, just like with any company, I want a guy with experience and knowledge and not a guy with two years experience two years being an assistant to an assistant on special teams if I'm trying to improve a certain area. I'm sure there are better candidates out there.

Wagner is going to get more on the open market. We don't need to get in a bidding war. I believe he is gone. Williams is saying all the right things. I believe he will take less than market value and he will stay. No to Victor Cruz, if that was even a question. No to Jefferson. We need to draft better and we will have a better cap situation. We get into cap issues by signing guys we have no business signing to long term deals.

I would be fine either way. On offense, we need an identity. I would say we need more aggression and disguise for the defense. That starts with drafting better D-Backs.

You hit the nail right on the head. Especially with quarterback position. Flacco is not a west coast quarterback. Your QB and offensive philosophy have to be married. Flacco and the west coast offense is at best separated and just try to look the part for the children. I hate to say it, but Harbaugh will be gone next season and we will have another coach come in and install their offensive philosophy.

I don't know what kind of predictions those were. Brown just regurgitated what the Ravens players and coaches already said. "The Ravens will add a veteran wide receiver"??? How insightful. I thought they let Brooks go too early. The Ravens desperately need quality depth at the safety and corner positions. I know they will address it in the draft. I also think they will find a gem as an undrafted free agent.

I think we can stomach the loss of BWill. It will be harder to replace Orr in my opinion. I don't think we drop outside the top 7 in run defense. We had Brandon Williams the last 5 weeks of the season and we were atrocious in run defense. He is not the end all be all. We need to scheme better in the run game with or without him. We will continue to draft on the D-line and we will be solid. We have guys that can get the job done.

First Flacco is not going anywhere until after 2018 so 2 more years, time to end the pleading for something that many do not agree with you about, especially since its not going to happen. Second, Williams is going to deal on a good deal for himself and his family, not on what he is "offered" in order for us, the Ravens or any other NFL owner thinks won't "break the bank" or save money for mo. Certainly you can't expect a low ball offer to work. The Ravens are in a much better place to work out deals this year than in the " KO " and "Nagta" FA timing. Williams is worth 10mil yr. and, as far as the NFL knows, worth more. The Ravens can afford a deal. Values for positions get set by competition. I believe he is worth top dollar from the Ravens, some may not agree. 5 yr /$50 mil make the offer OZ and i bet he stays. As far as Wagner, again he can be kept. The question is what is he worth to the Ravens? His position should not command quite the dollar height of a NT. Hopefully he can be retained for 6.5 mil yr something like a 3 yr /$20 mil. make the offer OZ, if he walks he may not get more and might stick around. Otherwise Draft the big guy and Put Yanda back on the right side, we have been there before. I also do not believe that the Wallace is the contract that the Ravens should give up to gain Williams back. It saves 5.5 in space, rather I would give up the Dumerville contract at almost the same 5.3. So there are some facts and figures ( ballpark) as some ways to look at keeping them. its a total team situation agreed. However I would give up Dumervil, Guy and Powers to Keep Williams at this point in the careers. We might get a trade deal with Doom Wagner will not be retained for 3/$20 million. He will command 8-10 million per year.
