  1. I'd have to agree, but what is he looking to command? Rumors are that he could get 9-10 per year. While RT is just as important as LT these days, that is steep for a guy that really is only good in pass protection and a mediocre run blocker. So giving Wagner 9-10 per year is too much for a good pass protector and mediocre run blocker, but fine for a good run stuffer and mediocre pass rusher; but RT is just as important as LT?
  2. He does have a high fumble rate, but that is correctible. Guys with that kind of talent are hard to find.
  3. I like Pitta, but he is a terrible blocker (that's being nice). In my opinion, I would cut Pitta post June 1 and cut Watson. Having Boyle, Gillmore, Waller and Williams is enough. They are cheap and if Gillmore balls out, pay him or have Maxx Williams step into the starting role full time. He was a 2nd round pick.
  4. I would use a 4th rounder on him. I would put him at LG. Put a clause in his contract, to keep his weight under control. His father was a good player, which I thinks helps him with motivation. I would take a chance, but at G.
  5. I agree with much of your article except I think we can absorb the loss of Williams. He has been great and we don't know what will happen when he left, but that's true of everyone when they leave. The Ravens have drafted very well for depth and talent along the defensive front and we need to see those guys step up. Carl Davis, Kafusi and Willie Henry didn't even play. We have Jernigan, Guy, Urban, Pierce. We will draft a few more. I don't want to overpay for him and if another team is going to give him 45-50 million to leave, I wish him the best.
  6. Dalvin Cook is the best playmaker in this draft. If he is on the board, it would be hard to pass him up. I know he doesn't necessarily fit need and he has some off the field issues, but this dude is a stud. If you want a playmaker he can do it all. We know how Mornhinweg likes backs out of the backfield. He is a great pass catcher and great with the ball in his hands.
  7. At this point I think the pick will be Wilson also. I think Barnett will be gone and I think that Peppers (while not the same) will leave some thinking that he would be a repeat of Elam. I'm waiting for the combine to make my official guess.
  8. He is demonstrating with his backlash comments to the voting committee and about the process why he's not already in. When he was in SF he trashed Jeff Garcia and destroyed that team. When he was in Philly he trashed McNabb and essentially blamed him for not winning the Super Bowl. I personally think TO is the genesis for all of these other diva receivers who celebrate their touchdowns like they are the most amazing thing in the universe. Totally makes it all about them. Meanwhile the only reason why you scored is because your linemen blocked, your QB saw you and fired off a great pass, and some coaches put a game plan together to get you open. Chad Johnson (I refuse to call him by his invented name...and therein lies his personality) was in the same mold and now you have Beckham with his antics. It seems as if TO hasn't leaned his lesson yet. He's made some comments that will be tough to walk back, but something like that from him will be needed before the Hall considers putting him in. He needs to come out and make a sincere apology because he's throwing all of the voters under the bus and can't seem to realize the reason why he's not in is because of HIM and not others. Like his former QB's, he's completely belittled and disrespected the very people that hold the keys to his enshrinement. Talk about stupid. TO is who he is. He's not going to take any comments back. Based on his numbers, he's a HOFer. I can understand that the committee makes him wait a year or two because of his attitude and the fact that he played for multiple teams. But there is no reason he should wait beyond that. Everyone's personality is not the same. I don't think he should apologize for being himself. It does the game of football a disservice if one of the best players at a particular position doesn't get the acknowledgement he deserves because he wasn't quiet. I like the touchdown celebrations. Guys work hard to get into the endzone and they deserve to celebrate. The lineman and quarterbacks can celebrate and should be allowed to celebrate. It's a team accomplishment, but the NFL doesn't allow group celebrations which is a shame. I think everyone should celebrate when they score. It's a part of fun in all sports.
  9. I'm tired of people wanting these great quarterbacks to retire on top. Manning, Brady, Ben...I don't want them to retire with smiles on their faces. I want us to beat them every year that they retire because they know it will be a cold day in hell when they can come into M&T Bank stadium in the playoffs and beat us (I know Manning is already retired). Stop begging for Brady to retire and beat him. Put a team together that can win. This is getting sickening. There is no reason we can't compete with the Patriots year in and year out. Get some real coaches. The Patriots roster is no more talented than our roster, they just have a better coach. The Ravens need to kick it into gear.
  10. I agree and think it is unfair to say Ryan chocked. He was beat.More accurate the FAlcons were beat. I disagree, they chocked. You only have to make a handful of plays in the 2nd half to win and they couldn't do it. When you blow a 25 point lead in the 2nd half of the SuperBowl...you choke. The Patriots did take advantage, but the Falcons had the dame in their hands.
  11. NFL Network looked at the numbers. The Falcons had a 99% chance of winning the game in at least two different points.
  12. I agree. When I looked at him on film, he looks like a safety. He doesn't look fast but we haven't gotten to the combine yet. He is all around the ball though. 2nd round would be great value.
  13. Chance Warmack will be cut by the bills, we can bring him in at LG
  14. There's no guarantee in the 1st Round either - Fowler, Bud Dupree, Shaq Thompson, Shaq Lawson, Leonard Floyd, Jarvis Jones, Dee Ford, etc have all been "busts" despite taken in the 1st Round. Outside of Khalil Mack and Vic Beasley (both selected in the Top 10) - every pass rusher drafted in the 1st Round in the last 4 years has been a bust. And in reality, besides those 2, EVERY pass rusher drafted in all rounds of the last 4 years has been a bust (so far).....Labeling a player a bust after 1 or 2 years is premature as I think a couple of those names above can have a decent NFL career - it takes time to develop to be a productive player in the NFL. Part of the reason it's so hard to find pass rushers is because almost all of them played their entire college career going against college Tackles that aren't good enough to be back-ups in the NFL. Only 1 Tackle from the SEC will get drafted in the 1st 3 rounds this year (Cam) and he projects more of a Guard at the NFL level. Fowler was essentially a rookie this year as he missed last season with a torn ACL, Dupree was good this year and coming on before missing time with injury, Shaq Thompson is used as a Will in a 4-3, Floyd as a rookie notched 7 sacks, Lawson is a rookie and played in 8 games due to injury, Dee ford had 10 sacks behind Tamba Hali and Justin Houston. I'm confused by your argument. You labeled these guys busts, but you said it's premature.
  15. Lol! I was thinking that when I read it!
  16. I like BW, but I would not be willing to pay top dollar for him. I would be fine with 40-43 million for four years. Anything over that is really overpaying. We have a lot of young guys on the D-line. We had injuries along the front last season. Carl Davis and Willie Henry didn't play. I think that rotation with help absorb the loss of Williams if that happens. Also another question is what do we do with Michael Pierce next season? We will have to pay him as well. We can't pay both Williams and Pierce 40 million. Pierce is 24 and Williams is 27. Does that make a difference?
  17. Yea thats a vallid point. And really its not only about DBs and Pass Rushers, I just think that if we sign BWill to a huge contract now its going to be difficult to resign anyone of the guys leaving next year or the year after that. And I am sure the FO takes all of that into consideration. This may be a flawed way of looking at the situation but I just feel like BWills sphere of influence is just so limited. Not only to the middle of the field but also only on running plays. And i know there are other factors at play there. By taking on the double teams he gives the guys next to him more favorable match ups. And he keeps the ILBs clean which allows them to flow to the ball faster. I just think with Pierce on the team it would be wise to spend the money on some of the guys that are going to hit FA next year. And I am not saying that Pierce is going to play as good as BWills next year. I just don't think that the gap separating BWilll from Pierce is large enough to negativily impact the team on a consistent basis. In other words it is negligible. I don't think we will lose any games next year because Pierce is playing instead of BWill. But what do I know? There are some interesting options at cb this year that could come at a reasonable price. But of course the reason they would come at a reasonable price is because they sucked last year. I hear ya but I disagree that the difference is negligible. Pierce was really good - playing behind (or) next to BWill but what happens when he's the main man? Pippen was a great player playing with Jordan - not so much when by himself. But the bigger issue is this - you're looking at just replacing one player for one player but this is a team and the d-line is a unit. How big of a difference is there between BWill + Pierce vs Pierce + ?? How big of a difference is there between Pierce and the next guy? What happens if Pierce get hurts? We saw what happened with the lack of depth behind Jimmy. You basically have Pierce at the vet minimum for the next 3 years. If you pay BWill $10 million then you have both guys for a combined $11 million. I'd pay $11 million for TWO really good DT . You don't have to worry about that position again for 3 years even if 1 guy gets hurt. Plus, you don't really have any of your FA that you need to spend money on next year (Urschel & Jernigan really) and the Ravens will finally have some good cap space even if they re-sign BWill & Wagner. I believe Pierce was an undrafted free agent. He is not on the vet minimum for the next 3 years. He is a restricted free agent this year and next year he will need to be paid.
  18. I like beefing up the line. I think we should let Wagner walk, move Lewis to RT and I think Chance Warmack will be released by the Titans. He would be a great pick up for us at LG. We can then draft a C.
  19. Don't you think that alone may be a huge contributor to lack of quality depth? If you fill your roster with great special teams players over position players of repute and that is the way you fill out the roster, then a team is left floundering if there are injuries to the team. I think this is a fundamental flaw with John's strategy. I wholeheartedly agree. Harbaugh wants good special teams players, but when they are thrust into starting positions, they are terrible. I wish we could send that comment to Harbaugh personally.
  20. In fact, Marshall is the one WR I think fits our team and cap space. He'll elevate Flacco as a QB and make him look decent too. He has a wide catching radius and makes contested catches in a crowd. S Kenny Britt is the same type of WR and at this point in their careers is probably the much better version. You're going to pay for name for Marshall but I'd rather have the more productive Britt at a few $ million less. I don't know about Britt being more productive based on one season. I do know he is injury prone and inconsistent. I like Marshall better.
  21. I agree his current salary is where he should be. Wallace is at $8.5M this year (although it is the 2nd and last year of the contract). He is better than Wallace.
  22. I remember when we traded for Boldin and at the same time Miami traded for Marshall. I commented on this site that I would rather have Marshall. He is younger, his catch radius is outstanding and he was a better player at the time. Marshall was traded for two second round picks though and Boldin was traded for a 3rd and 4th. Which was only a little steeper. The fans on this site gave me a hard time, because Marshall was going through issues with his wife or girlfriend. They said he was a disruption and immature. Which was the case, but he was talented. In hindsight Boldin was great for us. He won a Superbowl. Either way they both would've been cut as Ozzie wouldn't have paid Marshall, just like he didn't want to pay Boldin.
  23. In fact, Marshall is the one WR I think fits our team and cap space. He'll elevate Flacco as a QB and make him look decent too. He has a wide catching radius and makes contested catches in a crowd. S You are right on the money there. Also you have to keep in mind Marshall wants to continue his TV career, which is another reason why he chose NY. In Baltimore, he's near NY. He's on Inside the NFL. The question is if the Ravens would be okay with Marshall being on the show. I think they would as SSS made occasional appearances on the Mike and Mike show.
  24. Yes as a Raven's fan, I don't think the Ravens coaching is nearly as creative as the Patriots coaching (i.e. making adjustments, play design, etc). I also think that LeVeon Bell is a better running back then West or Dixon, does that preclude me from being a Raven's fan as well? We have not made the playoffs in 3 out of 4 years, I would call that losing. Whether it's pessimism or not, it's a fact. I didn't say the Patriots are perfect, I said they are winning. Alluding to your facts that the Patriots have had 3 losing seasons and the Ravens have had 7, during that span. Winning is what we as fans want from the Ravens. I want it at the cost of better coaching, better selection in free agency, retaining drafted players, etc. It is fairly irrelevant how many years each quarterback has played, since we are comparing that time frame. I didn't miss your point, regarding the air pressure in the football. My point was that the difference in air pressure of a football, doesn't equate to the difference in talent between Brady and Flacco.
  25. I agree with you. The point that some of the Flock make is that Flacco is frustrating. He plays well in the playoffs, but he is inconsistent during the season and really from quarter to quarter. So he irritates you because you know the talent and more importantly the will to win is there, but not consistently. He is just like Eli Manning. You know when you get to the playoffs, you have an above average chance of winning because of quarterback play, but also because of regular season quarterback play, you may not make it to the playoffs.
